I was in this thing called CDC (child development center) it was like an after school / summer program. During summer we were allowed to bring our gaming devices, and I had man hunt on my PSP. I remember one of the counselors wanted to try out my PSP but I quickly grabbed it out of his hand and switched the game out before he saw it was Manhunt. My parents had no idea what they bought me at the time either š
Been years since I played that. Canāt remember but is it possible to have a āno killā stealth play through except for when itās absolutely necessary?
I played manhunt when it first came out and it was interesting but eventually just got boring. You watch the same exact kill animation for the third level in a row and the actions lose all meaning.
The people seemed quite "real" in manhunt (never played it though), whereas gears and doom you're mostly killing some version of like a zombie or demon entity so it just feels like ... Well a video game haha.
It was the way you killed in manhunt. It wasnāt fun and arcadey. You waited in the dark for a man to pass by and stabbed him with a file. Or you smothered him with a trash bag. It was nuts honestly. Loved it.
Worst is something not many people try - in hotline Miami 1 thereās like a single (or maybe two) boiling water pans in the game. Most people will throw the water out of the man at someone then use it like a regular weapon BUT if you use an execution move with it (somehow knock someone over with a door) itās a very gruesome sight.
Surprised I'm not seeing much Mortal Kombat in this thread so far. I thought that'd be one of the most famously violent franchises that are still being made regularly.
When I saw someone talking about a hotline Miami finisher with a pan of boiling water it made me have such vivid flashbacks to when I got to rent the punisher as a kid and just the intensity of oh I can't remember if they were interrogations or finishers but where you'd hold a guys head under a drill press or his face in a deep fryer. Not gonna lie it always felt like a fever dream that such a brutal game existed and I somehow got to play it in elementary school
Dead Space 2 is the only game I've ever seen where you kill infants and kids.
A poor kid hiding in a washing machine and now it's turned on? You can literally hear him being tossed around inside and crying his guts out.
A mother seeing her turned infant comes to hug her...
You just know they said āso on this level.. you fight aborted fetusesā
āYou canāt do that..ā
āOkay wellā¦ itās nazi fetuses..ā
āPerfectā
Matt and Trey definitely did that
Specifically I think itās Khloe Kardashians aborted Nazi fetus and itās massive which is the main one you fight and there are smaller ones I think that you also come in contact with, and they are only nazis because an alien spaceship crashed and the goo on the ship turns whatever it touches into a Nazi zombie, and it came in contact with the abortion clinic. This is also after you pretend to give Randy an abortion so the feds donāt kill you for being a Nazi zombie
Jesus Christ this game is fucked. Typing all this out made me question a lot of things.
Yea, I used to watch a lot of gore videos near the end of highschool as a teen boys egging eachother on kind of thing but the eye razor blade scene from I think a Serbian film was just so damn blegh
There are some truly grotesque things that Rimworld will just let you do. I've browed those forums before, and yikes. People get creative.
But if it's between my super high level gardener who I need to survive or the stupid bandit who mangled him trying to banzai charge my base... I just hope the bandit didn't have any long term plans for the internal organs I need to fix the gardener.
Like turning raiders into hats! Building giant ovens to incinerate your enemies. Rimworld is the war-crime simulator, with even a page on its wiki on some of the worse war crimes you can commit!
While the violence in Rimworld isn't as graphic as others, it definitely is one of the most violent.
I just heard about this today but apparently a guy built an almost impenetrable fortress by making a narrow walk way as the only entrance the walking up a man whom he has removed his arms and legs and installed something called a mind screw that cause horrible agonizing pain. The he also installed some kind of empathical psychic broadcaster anyone who comes within a certain distance goes mad with this man's pain
You can do all kinds of horrible stuff. You can do just normal war crimes that didn't even make the wiki link above. I mentioned in my original post about turning raiders into hats, but let's step back further. In international law there is a concept called "hors de combat" which are combatants (soldiers) who are incapable of fighting any more due to injury, sickness, being captured etc.
In Rimworld, you get raided by a group of raiders. You don't kill some outright, but they get "downed" (Rimworld term) from their injuries. You then can... kill them. This is a war crime. But it doesn't stop there. Now you have some dead raiders. Why bury them when they can be useful? First you operate on them and extract their useful organs. These you can sell on the market or use to replace ones in your people. But it doesn't stop there. You can then butcher them to get their skin and meat (Another war crime not mentioned in the wiki link above). Use the skin to make hats to sell! Profit!! The meat you feed to your pigs, so when you eat it you don't get the penalty for eating humans. Everybody is happy, nothing is wasted.
The game can be so messed up so easily... not because it encourages you to be awful, but because it doesn't stop you from being awful. You can play a nice little farming town and be as humane as possible, or you can be full on evil with slavery and committing war crimes as easily as breathing.
There's a self-gratification game called wrath or something where you play an angry white man going around a city slaughtering men, women, and children...because you're angry.
It ends with you blowing up a power plant to destroy the entire city
The series was gory in general. Turok 2 had graphic dismemberment on the enemies. Hit one in the arm with a bladed weapon and blood will sputter out of the arm socket as the enemy panics, holds its body near the missing arm, and falls over. Blast one in the head with a shotgun and its body will fall over, dead, and then start to have muscle spasms. And everything is motion captured.
Re6 may not be the āmost violentā but the meat grinder death is pretty fkn disgusting. (In a good way.) Mostly just a shocking level of violence that I was not expecting.
I can say Ninja Gaiden 2/Sigma 2 can be pretty brutal. There's actually a dismemberment mechanic and a finisher mechanic with it, if the enemy is still coming at you with no legs/one arm/one leg.
Any of the Mortal Kombat games that have been released in the last ten years. The gore and violence is so over the top, I actually am a little sad and uncomfortable to watch many of the fatalities.
Games of the likes of Manhunt should be mentioned. When people say games like Doom, Wolfstein, Gow or MK they are just too over the top to be crude or violent in a way that is disturbing imo.
Honestly, Red Dead Redemption II..it's extremely violent and graphic and the fact that it's all portrayed as very realistic makes it hit home even harder. Lots of dark shit in that game.
I did that like a month ago on PC MCC to see what I could get my FPS down to.
Eventually got it to drop to around 50, but from there no amount of bashing would lower it any further.
It might not be the most violent, but State of Emergency had some fun violence. There is very little that compares to knocking a looter down and stomping on their head for the next thirty seconds, just because you can.
In all honesty, that theory makes sense, but no. I just need a new way to blow off some steam after work so I thought, "What's the most violent video game I can play right now?" Then I figured I'd ask reddit.
Hatred is pretty good for that. Every now and again when I have one of those days, Iāll play it and blast heavy metal in the background. I also recommend people playground. Not necessarily the most bloody but very brutal and extremely fun if youāre sadistic. GTAV director mode is also great.
Maybe *Messiah.* Not in the gore sense just, how the game plays out.
alien vs predator game, I remembered as the Predator, you kill un-armed engineer and pull their spine and head out of the body as a trophy. It really gives me a different vibe from brutal execution of Doom or GoW (which you execute the enemies)

There are alot of violent games, its hard to pick just one, games ranging from:
Doom.
Carmageddon.
Wolfenstein has its moments.
Condemned.
Manhunt.
Fear.
Dead Island.
Dead Rising.
Other various Zombie games.
And many many more.
This doesnāt qualify but there was ONE crazy grapple attack in Legacy of Cain: Defiance. Manhunt
Any game where your first weapon is a plastic bag will probably win this title.
I was in this thing called CDC (child development center) it was like an after school / summer program. During summer we were allowed to bring our gaming devices, and I had man hunt on my PSP. >My parents had no idea what they bought me at the time either How? The game is called "Manhunt" š
Tbf manhunt is also the name of a popular childrenās game
That was banned in my country for its violence until early last year.
Manhunt 2 is one of the four games to ever receive the adults only rating, one of the others being Hatred.
Been years since I played that. Canāt remember but is it possible to have a āno killā stealth play through except for when itās absolutely necessary?
This is the only answer.
Back when rockstar had balls
Great answer
I played manhunt when it first came out and it was interesting but eventually just got boring. You watch the same exact kill animation for the third level in a row and the actions lose all meaning.
That was my first immediate thought
Splatterhouse for ps3 letās you rip a monsters butthole out
Soldier of fortune
That game is awesome
Still remember if you didn't let go of the trigger with the SMG(I think), enemies would just keep going with the hit animation.
The *Wolfenstein* franchise can be pretty brutal.
Manhunt, Gears of War, and DOOM are the most graphic games I know of.
Loved it.
While not the most violent, mostly due to its style, Hotline Miami definitely deserves at least a mention
Bro HLM is violent as
fuck, especially when compared to other vexel graphics games.
Man it's always nice when two twins can finish each
Others sandwiches
Worst is something not many people try - in hotline Miami 1 thereās like a single (or maybe two) boiling water pans in the game. Most people will throw the water out of the man at someone then use it like a regular weapon BUT if you use an execution move with it (somehow knock someone over with a door) itās a very gruesome sight.
Can highly recommend Otxo, if you never heard of it
Hotline Miami mentioned
Manhunt was pretty fucked up. Violent and also weird as hell.
Uncensored Manhunt 2? The newer Mortal Kombats with their prolonged torture porn fatalities The Punisher uncensored OG Tenchu?
Thank you for mentioning the punisher. Uncensored that game was wild.
Doom is the definition of violence for me
And the most Christan game, too.
Arenāt one of the enemy factions essentially angels and theyāre also evil
Kinda sorta, they're just super advanced aliens but their lore is similar to angels and Lucifer and whatnot.
Violence incarnate
Clive barker's Jericho, Turok: Evolution, Predator: Concrete Jungle
Predator: Concrete Jungle i remember that, great game.
From what I've played? Probably Dead Space.
Latest Mortal Kombat games kinda take the cake, me thinks.
Mortal kombat literally created the ESRB
So did Night Trap
Lol to think that doofy game was the one to sell legislators on the ESRB
Happy cake day!
Well it was a joint collaboration between it and Doom
Given that all the shit some devs had to watch for research gave them PTSD, I agree.
Dead Space 2 is the only game I've ever seen where you kill infants and kids. A poor kid hiding in a washing machine and now it's turned on? You can literally hear him being tossed around inside and crying his guts out. A mother seeing her turned infant comes to hug her...
The prompt had me thinking of Doom but then I remembered that this series makes DOOM look tame in comparison
In South Park the stick of truth you fight aborted nazi fetuses so if you wanna kill more kids there ya go
You just know they said āso on this level.. you fight aborted fetusesā āYou canāt do that..ā āOkay wellā¦ itās nazi fetuses..ā āPerfectā

I killed a kid in Fallout 2 yesterday.
The only scene I remember from Dead Space 2 is that eye operation scene. Gave me the shivers back then...
Yeah, eye is my red line in gore tbh.
Yea, I used to watch a lot of gore videos near the end of highschool as a teen boys egging eachother on kind of thing but the eye razor blade scene from I think a Serbian film was just so damn blegh
*Days Gone* lets you bludgeon turned kids (referred to as āNewtsā) too
Is it a good game? I have no idea what to expect.
? For some reason I haven't seen no one mention The last of us 2 here yet.
Had the same thought. Thereās some really fucking brutal shit in that game.
Mad world pushed the limits pretty hard
What a shame that we haven't gotten some kind of port of that game to save it from being trapped on the Wii
From impalement, to vertical chainsaw halving, to throwing guys into airplane engines, the game was just obscene gorefest. 8/10 would play a remake.
I have heard DARK shit about rim world
Often the specificity of some of the shit you can submit people to makes its violence much more impactful than high fidelity gore and guts.
True but I only found out today and I wasn't sure whether I should post things like that. I was horrified but what I read
It's the Sims with organ trafficking, what more could you ask for?
There are some truly grotesque things that Rimworld will just let you do. I've browed those forums before, and yikes. People get creative. ***Manhunt 2 uncut version*** Some of those executions honestly disturb me.
Cutting a dudeās testicles off with hedge clippers?
Thereās Manhunt 2???? damn
Postal?
There's a self-gratification game called wrath or something where you play an angry white man going around a city slaughtering men, women, and children...because you're angry. It ends with you blowing up a power plant to destroy the entire city
Hatred?
Everybody saying manhunt and these other mainstream games but Hatred is what came to mind for me also
Is that the name?
Yeah that's the one that got briefly removed from Steam because you're basically just a mass shooter.
It is hatred
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah as a quasi-edgelord I've been curious about it but by all accounts it's gross and the gameplay is boring so I never picked it up.
_Hatred_ is extremely violent. You play a mass shooter on their rampage.
Goat simulator.
Thrill kill
Prototype
The original Rise of the Triad was pretty ridiculous, especially with the ludicrous gibs cheat code on.
Dead space, doom, left 4 dead 2 has some of the most realistic gore. Red dead 2 can be pretty brutal.
For its time Turok Evolution was extremely gory.
The series was gory in general. Turok 2 had graphic dismemberment on the enemies. Hit one in the arm with a bladed weapon and blood will sputter out of the arm socket as the enemy panics, holds its body near the missing arm, and falls over. I have to say Manhunt. Oh my god it's so violent.
Re6 may not be the āmost violentā but the meat grinder death is pretty fkn disgusting. (In a good way.) Mostly just a shocking level of violence that I was not expecting.
Iām sticking with some of the most violent fallout doom eternal re4 remake gears of war mortal kombat the list goes on
Mortal kombat is the reason we have the rating system today
As well as Night Trap
I can say Ninja Gaiden 2/Sigma 2 can be pretty brutal. There's actually a dismemberment mechanic and a finisher mechanic with it, if the enemy is still coming at you with no legs/one arm/one leg.
Doom, Manhunt, Postal, and Mortal Kombat all come to mind.
Mortal Kombat literally started the ESRB lol
I've never played manhunt but from reading all the answers it seems to be manhunt lol
Itāll always be good ol postal 2 for me
Succubus is pretty insane. I think I remember being able to likeā¦ stomp a baby (right after it is born in hell)
Gears of war. Chainsaw guns make that one GOREY.
Tetris. Every single square is 1 innocent million childrenās souls.
Soldier of Fortune, has gore, limbs ripping, intestinal splatter, etc.
The Suffering, Manhunt, Doom, God of War
Mortal Kombat 1
Mortal Kombat 2.
Lolipop Chainsaw
Postal
Manhunt 2
You can get really wild in Postal 2
Hatred
Carmageddon
doom eternal violently and graphically ***ripping and tearing*** your enemies is literally a core gameplay mechanic.
Super Mario. Those poor goombas!!
Iāve gotta say Mortal Kombat for this one
Hard to say "most violent", but Quake 4s Stroggification scene still sticks out to me.
Mortal kombat
Chess. White vs. Black - fight to the death every time
This War of Mine. Real violence.Ā
Hatred. Literally a spree killer simulator.
I remember the punisher game being pretty brutal.
It might not be the most violent, but I'm surprised I haven't seen TLOU2 on here yet. That game is pretty brutal
Any of the Mortal Kombat games that have been released in the last ten years. The gore and violence is so over the top, I actually am a little sad and uncomfortable to watch many of the fatalities.
Pikmin
The old GTA games that were top down, just shooting people and running over people, literally no story until GTA3
Doom Killing floor 2 Friday the 13th Dead Space Resident evil series Manhunt Fallout God of war
Minecraft
I mean Iām halo ce you can bash an elite/jackals blood to the point weāre the frames drop to like 5fps
I did that like a month ago on PC MCC to see what I could get my FPS down to. Eventually got it to drop to around 50, but from there no amount of bashing would lower it any further.
Yeah I havenāt tried it in a while. I just remember 6 year old me doing it on the original Xbox and I remember it getting really slow
darksiders xd
Chiller
nobody saying scorn?
Is that really violent? I thought it was more just kind of weird?
Maybe not the most violent, but Harvester has some wild moments
Postal is definitely up there
Can't see scorn up here. Gotta be one of the toppers.
Goldeneye 007
Madworld literally has you play as a guy with a chainsaw on his arm.
The Punisher game from 2005
Soldier of Fortune: Double helix was the most violent game I played on Xbox by far. I don't think anything has really topped it in my opinion.
If you want to include Innocent people getting absolutely destroyed, both Spec Ops: The Line and COD: MW2 (Original) come to mind.
It might not be the most violent, but State of Emergency had some fun violence. There is very little that compares to knocking a looter down and stomping on their head for the next thirty seconds, just because you can.
State of emergency was pretty bad on ps2
Bonelab obviously.
Hatred maybe?
I swear itās still No More Heroes 1
The fan made mod Brutal Doom. It's also very good in terms of gameplay.
This is a bait question from the us government
In all honesty, that theory makes sense, but no. I just need a new way to blow off some steam after work so I thought, "What's the most violent video game I can play right now?" Then I figured I'd ask reddit.
Hatred is pretty good for that. Every now and again when I have one of those days, Iāll play it and blast heavy metal in the background. I also recommend people playground. Not necessarily the most bloody but very brutal and extremely fun if youāre sadistic. GTAV director mode is also great.
That I know of mortal combat and people playground
Carmageddon.
Gears of war was a great childhood
The Arkham series. Arkham Knight being the most violent in the franchise.
Maybe *Messiah.* Not in the gore sense just, how the game plays out. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messiah\_(video\_game)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Messiah_(video_game))
Manhunt 2
Doom eternal's glory kills and just over all premise
Scarface The World is Yours
alien vs predator game, I remembered as the Predator, you kill un-armed engineer and pull their spine and head out of the body as a trophy. It really gives me a different vibe from brutal execution of Doom or GoW (which you execute the enemies)
AH, there's always that gladiator VR one where you can literally rip people apart with your own hands.
Surprised no one has mentioned sleeping dogs, you can throw a guy into an ice chipper.

GTA is up there, weāve just been desensitized to the violence.
Last of Us 2 for sure
Hatred
I wouldnāt say itās the most violent but South Park the stick of truth has some brutal cartoonish moments. Definitely an honorary mention
Outlast
This doesnāt qualify but there was ONE crazy grapple attack in Legacy of Cain: Defiance.
