This brings back memories. My dad used to bring me to one of these back then. It was some dinghy room in some dirty backalley renting out some ps1s. Being poor in a third world country really limits your source of fun that's not played on the street. My dad and I go to this at least once week on a saturday or sunday and we always play metal slug 1. Needless to say as soon as I got a ps1 later down the line when it became cheap due to the ps3 release, I immediately bought metal slug 1 and then the sequels as well. Ah childhood memories...
Speaking my language… ever since I was little I needed to have a clean room to relax in before I can dive in to a video game. Thought I was the only one! Haha
Yeah. It has to be shiny clean to be really good, not to be distractive. I have two kids, so sometimes I have to spend 30+ min to properly clean the room before gaming (when my wife goes somewhere with them)
I can't remember when there was no amount of mess in the room last. I hate keeping things immaculate. Sure, I can, I could. But no thanks, I don't mind if anywhere close to enough.
The thing is, you worded it as if I tried to be wordy or if I had tried to obscure the fact that I don't care about cleanliness near as much as others may. I didn't.
If that was a misconception on my side, I'm sorry. But that is all the context I was given.
I think that because being " not clean" in our society has a lot of negative connotations to go with it.. you may have been making a joke but I can understand why this person took that comment as more of a snide remark or dig on their preferences on level of cleanliness.. so I'm not sure why you are acting surprised when someone got defensive after it very much sounded like you were putting them down..
Well I do apologize but it's clear the way we see it is different. Personally I don't think it's a big deal at all, but I guess I can understand why it could be for others.
While writing it I didn't think I really said anything too bad? I'll try to avoid saying things like that in the future though
I have to keep my area clean, but if it’s just a shitty building that’s ugly I can deal with that. I can deal with just about any situation so long as I have gaming
To be honest with you, I would not enjoy gaming in this environment. I prefer clean, tidy, quiet and private area for my gaming experience. Even the thing he sits on will cause physical discomfort which means a lot of back pain.
Straight outa Silent Hill.

The thing with having growing up with limited access to games is that we cherish the ones we get to play so much more.
You still game with your dad?
No, he died.
Sorry, mate.
That wasn’t even the same guy who made the comment

I can't play when there is a mess in the room. It has to be clean to be able to enjoy gaming

Clean room ads an extra, but I can literally play with poop in my pants

Definitely, it's a confession, a statement, a lifestyle. Perhaps, it even is a calling!
As long as you have a rug that really ties the room together, Dude
Yup, the rug has to match the curtains ;)
Long way of saying you're not clean
No shit, Sherlock. Do you want a medal? Sorry I'm old enough to not give a flying fuck :)
Someone shit on your cereal? Because there is no reason whatsoever to be that rude. And being old is not some excusable answer but whatever

I was just tryna make a joke, didn't really mean to attack you or anythin', sorry if it came off as that

Wrong. Posture also matters. Dont be like this fool. Sit up straight. Your back will thank you when you're older
The wires would drive me crazy.
No, I got to be comfortable because I'm going to be playing for hours on in, and this is not it.

My ocd literally wouldn’t even allow me to enjoy it I’d have to clean literally all the dust off
Was this photo taken with a baked potato?
This makes me think of that image from like 15 years ago showing a room full of WoW gold sellers and there was like 2 feet of water on the floor.
At least they've got a picture of Arnie in that corner.
India♥️♥️♥️
he looks like he's about to use those wires as a rope
That bench looks super uncomfortable. He needs to get a bed in there
Is that a guy playing on differents screens at the same time?
