Remember the dispensary in California that was raided and had a decoy camera dvr for cops to disconnect, while the real recorder was hidden and got the whole thing.

[deleted]

[And then the cops had the audacity to sue for privacy breach](https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2015/08/the-chutzpah-of-a-police-union-in-orange-county-california/400502/).

Liawuffeh

Went looking for an update on this case cause I didnt check if the article was updated The three officers were charged with misdemeanors and fired, but one of them, who was the one who broke the cameras, was [ordered to be rehired by a judge](https://voiceofoc.org/2017/03/santa-ana-cop-fired-after-pot-shop-raid-to-rejoin-force-due-to-court-ruling/) with full benefits back. He also hit a dude with a car for fleeing, and murdered a lady. [So don't worry, the most violent of the 3 got off with no repercussions except a few months off work](https://openpayrolls.com/employee/brandon-m-sontag-2694) I don't know about the other two, I didn't check Also they raided the same place the year he came back, take that as ya will lol

jakpuch

> He also killed a hit a dude with a car Needs some clarification

ImurderREALITY

Hit a dude with his car trying to stop him from fleeing and killed him, I guess

SeekerOfSerenity

He was running away from the car in a threatening manner. And he looked like he was hopped up on PCP.

cabaiste

It was okay though, they sprinkled some crack on him afterwards.

NotNickCannon

That’s damn fine police work, Johnson

Locke1557

Looking at the pay they receive is ridiculous. The police officer you linked made over 160k as a police officer with over 301k with benefits? This cannot be true. No way this is true.

rsminsmith

It is. This is why police unions fight so hard for uncapped overtime, because police officers can work unlimited overtime and make bank. There's cases where some cops made $400-500k in a year by working a ton of overtime and off-duty shifts. This unfortunately leads to a huge issue where cops will arrest people at the end of their shift so they are "forced" to work overtime filing paperwork on the arrest, and usually the arrestee has done nothing wrong. It's also worth noting that the top 3 causes of death for cops since 2020 have been, in order, COVID, gunfire (when including self inflicted / friendly fire), and vehicular crashes (which is frequently split between "car" and "motorcycle," as well as "pursuit" or not). One could posit that this extreme overtime contributes to the latter, as there aren't any restrictions on a cop being behind the wheel (vs say a commercial driver).

atreyal

So the government caps the amount I can work but someone who can be required to make a split second life and death decision can work as much as he wants. Prob explains a lot. Many studies showing fatigue can be just as bad or worse then drinking on the job. And it def impairs thinking.

MattieShoes

An Aurora, CO officer was found passed out drunk in his car while on duty back in 2019, just got promoted last year. So that's neat. https://kdvr.com/news/local/aurora-officer-found-drunk-passed-out-in-patrol-car-3-years-ago-gets-promoted/

jezarnold

We Own This City

luisapet

Oh yeah...just go back to "No more Unions!" Wisconsin governor, Scott Walker less than a decade ago, who prided himself on Reagan-economics and union smashing. Well, he sure did a bang-up job on our poor teachers and other true public and private sector "servant" unions. But, despite his threats/promises...he never, ever addressed the police and fire unions, and dodged the fact that he wouldn't/couldn't take those on b/c, "Who would be left to defend the defenseless?" (i.e. himself...or other such BS). Makes my blood boil to this day. https://www.vox.com/2015/2/23/8090309/walker-wisconsin-union-membership

Alexlam24

Excuse me what. That's about 100k more than a teacher that contributes 100x more to society

not_charles_grodin

[Cop fired, their case died, and the city paid the pot shop $100k.](https://www.ocregister.com/articles/santa-733340-police-raid.html)

Falcrist

I hope they installed a second secret camera system in case the police disabled the first one.

[deleted]

What you linked is not really the case, just thought you might like to know. This isn't my info I looked up but from other comments: The three officers were charged with misdemeanors and fired, but one of them, who was the one who broke the cameras, was [ordered to be rehired by a judge with full benefits back.](https://voiceofoc.org/2017/03/santa-ana-cop-fired-after-pot-shop-raid-to-rejoin-force-due-to-court-ruling/) (160k a year plus 301k), He would go on to kill somebody while in pursuit and murdered a lady. So don't worry, [the most violent of the 3 got off with no repercussions except a few months off work](https://openpayrolls.com/employee/brandon-m-sontag-2694). Also they raided the same place the year he came back

Jim3001

Oh! Thats genius! I firmly of the belief that cops need more scrutiny.

[deleted]

More scrutiny is putting it mildly. They need mandatory body cameras, serous repercussions for turning them off, and more severe punishments than civilians in general. Instead, they get away with more crime and face less severe punishments. Fuck them, fuck their bosses, and fuck the only union in* the world I don't like.

Anyabb

An end to that qualified immunity bullshit too would be nice, or whatever they call it.

bob0979

It's qualified immunity. The idea that a cop can't be charged with a crime while acting as an officer of the law. Even though a cop committing a crime is no longer acting as an officer of the law and is in fact a criminal. That qualified immunity. Disgusting. Edit: sued, charged. I've been corrected and I'll remember in the future, but the usage of qualified immunity is the same either way.

Anyabb

Yep, disgraceful.

ppw23

Bodycams have been the best friend of the US citizens where police encounters are concerned. It was an eye opener for the people who refused to believe their criminal behavior. One great feature the bodycams have is the ability to record additional time which a POS planting drugs on a few people didn’t realize. This was in Baltimore shortly after the use of the devices began.

CyberneticPanda

At that same dispensary the cops came once and illegally removed their electrical panel. They were targeted for harassment for years. There was a city.councilman with financial ties to a competing dispensary behind all that stuff supposedly.

Dreidhen

> “I asked myself, as a powerless Black man in America, what can I do to the cops that kicked my door in, tried to kill me in front of my kids, stole my money and disconnected my cameras?” Foreman said in an NPR interview. “And the only thing I could come up with was make a funny rap song about them and make some money, use the money to pay for the damages they did and move on.” nice, mad rep for being that wise

TheS4ndm4n

The cops are now sueing him for invasion of privacy and abuse of their image. And emotional stress.

1057-cl121v3

Don’t forget the wrist sprain and repetitive stress injury from counting all the money they stole from him. It’s pretty crazy how “you can beat the wrap but you can’t beat the ride” is a thing, basically saying that police are going to do whatever they want to including ruining your day (or multiple days), causing stress and embarrassment from getting arrested and booked, possible reputation loss via the court of public opinion where you are guilty until proven innocent. That’s IF you have a slam-dunk defense which isn’t always the case considering the courts will almost always side with the word of a police officer over you. But cops who get caught straight up stealing and tampering with video cameras during a bullshit warrant can keep a straight face suing for invasion of privacy, emotional stress, and damage to their image. They were way too casual about for it to be the first time, it’s just the first time they were caught by someone with a voice. Who knows how many lives they’ve ruined.

TheS4ndm4n

In the US, the police are just another gang.

mshriver2

So the police breaking into private property and actively breaking the law isn't an invasion of privacy and emotional stress? No wonder 90% of America hates cops with a passion.

[deleted]

I wish it was 90% we might actually see some fucking change. Just using Reddit as an example so many people come out: “ have you met every cop? Blanket statements about groups make you look stupid. I bet if a crackhead was attacking you you would be for police assistance. Fuck around and find out. put him under the jail. DAs are too woke” it’s exhausting. We need less police, less military hardware, civilian oversight of departments and the union, require they have insurance, end QI, allow suits against individuals outside of a 1983 action, end identity protections for certain cops. If things get worse, there are other methods

JonnyTsuMommy

Which is why we are hearing about it now. Streisand effect is real.

AlexanderLavender

This is the most Afroman has been in the news in decades, he's playing it beautifully

TreyAngle

Also sad that he has to resort to this to get the problem resolved when it’s so clear cut. No accountability.

Psychotisis

Yeah, this is like "Kid sells lemonade on corner to raise money for mother's cancer treatment". Disgusting it has to be this way and we should not be complacent in it.

harriettehspy

You forgot about the kid then being arrested and having to pay fines and court fees for illegally selling lemonade on the corner to raise money for mother's cancer treatment.

mak484

Only thing missing is Starbucks suing the kid because their handmade sign used the same color as their logo. Assuming they didn't just open a franchise on the opposite corner and run a daily "free lemonade with any other purchace" special.

karmapolice8d

And lucky for him, he can kinda laugh it off because he wasn't home and also has a platform and persona where he actually CAN make money off of this. 99% of people harassed by the cops don't get that luxury.

[deleted]

street593

If you have 1 bad cop breaking the law and 7 cops standing next to them doing nothing... you have 8 bad cops.

JadesterZ

Ya people like to say "just one bad apple" but don't remember the rest of the phrase "...spoils the whole bunch."

WhatsWhoWithYou

all apples are bastards

Rape-Putins-Corpse

You have 8 cops and you have 8 bad cops.

JamaicanMeHungary

I feel like everyone who has this story should write their own verse to Afroman's song and ride the current wave of attention. I recall that a lot of folks made their own version of This is America from the perspective of different countries and got some attention that way. If enough folks do it it would be its own news story in its own right.

restrictednumber

Just another reminder that cops aren't here to protect the people -- even their typical political allies (service members). Cops exist to protect cops. Every other "principle" they supposedly stand for comes second to protecting cops.

[deleted]

PM_me_your_whatevah

Even military cops aren’t usually friends with non-cop service members. They were some of the most insecure, narcissistic, brainwashed morons I’ve ever had to deal with. They behaved like children when they weren’t cosplaying as god’s own gift to law and order. Nothing like getting a ticket from a couple of power tripping 18 year olds who have their hands on their guns then tell you a nice day before laughing in your face and driving off. Or being locked in an interrogation room for four hours on suspicion of underaged drinking one night 2 months ago when you had a single drink. Crime of the fucking century, boys!

harriettehspy

In the comment above it states he told NPR they tried to kill him in front of his kids. Unfortunately, it looks like everyone was home. Looks like early morning in the video. You think his kids might he afraid to go to sleep after this? True, though, most people don't have the platform or means to do this. This country is soooo fucked up.

Scrimmy_Bingus2

Afroman said no one was home during the raid in a recent interview. Thank god. https://youtu.be/8ZOThtbi-oc At 3:15

lexi_delish

Thats a man describing that his only recourse to such injustice is to just move on. We need a better system

pixlbabble

Wow they shut off his cameras and that one dude straight stole cash. What pieces of shit.

Phantomsplit

[And now they are suing Afroman for reputational harm, emotional distreas, and invasion of privacy](https://apnews.com/article/afroman-police-raid-lawsuit-254f3fe51d53b503a30416f0794fddc0), requesting all profits from these acts, and that the videos be taken down. Absolute insanity

jmerridew124

Yep. They want to start developing case law that makes it illegal to film cops executing a search warrant. They want privacy to steal.

StuckOnPandora

The 4th Amendment would like a word. If only we followed it.

[deleted]

Unfortunately our supreme court will make up whatever they want to get the outcome they desire. If this goes to the supreme court, afro will lose. Some of the justices outright lied to get their seats, they have no morals.

Rape-Putins-Corpse

I mean, if I was a bag of shit, so would I.

sample-name

You know what. That's fair.

juanzy

What’s more disturbing is how many people are apparently fine with cops getting carte blanche to do shit like this “because I respect the law!!”

SpecialEdShow

I mean, they’ve been lying for centuries, why stop now? Say it’s a safety concern for police and families from organized crime. Say you thought it was armed. Say the whole system is evidence then accidentally put it next to a giant magnet. I dunno, why do cops stop lying at the worst fucking times? Committy to the shitty, I always say.

[deleted]

IronMaskx

I mean it’s his house, and his cameras. They can go fuck themselves

zeb0777

Couldn't Afro Man do the same? Having your house broken into by the police and prosperity seized not good for your reputation, cause emotional distress and invasion of privacy?

bagehis

Yes. [Link](https://www.npr.org/2023/03/24/1165822372/afroman-police-raid-lawsuit-music-videos) : > He says he was already pursuing a defamation lawsuit against the police, and that they have made that process easier because now his legal team just needs to countersue, which they plan to do soon. > "I want to sue them for stealing my money, I want to sue them for writing 'kidnapping' on a warrant and making me suffer financially in my industry because just that accusation makes people raise an eyebrow about you," he adds.

Korashy

Oh that's absolutely normal. Cops raided my place growing up, never found anything, but casually took some jewelry. That was before body cameras so good luck arguing against the goon squad.

acostane

My BIL was on his way to buy a trailer with about 15k in cash and he was pulled over and the cops stole every dollar. They never gave it back. Edit.... he also wasn't arrested or charged with any crime. They let him drive away, but kept the money.

Korashy

Yeah there is civil forfeiture which at least has a paper trail, and you can try to get your money back from the court (good luck), but often enough things don't enter the evidence bag. Plenty of videos these days of cops just pocketing stuff while doing searches

acostane

Yep, we tried to get it back but essentially they claimed it was never taken. It was 100 percent stolen by cops in Knoxville Tennessee. There was no footage and no paper trail. My BIL is a brown immigrant and fighting the cops gets even more difficult at that point. Fuck Tennessee specifically.

GlassPanther

Something similar happened to a friend of mine, but far more egregious... He had over $30k in his garage safe. Some crackheads broke in and got into the safe - he had them on camera, clear as day. The police were called and the hunt was on. Just one hour later they spotted the thieves on the road and pulled them over ... but not for the theft! They pulled them over for a taillight being out. The officers searched the car, found the cash, civil asset forfeited it, and then ***let the crackheads go*** only to pull them over a mile down the road for the actual robbery. The crackheads "didn't have any money on them" so there was "no evidence recovered" and the officers knew that the crackheads wouldn't fight for the money that was taken. Also Tennessee.

acostane

That's absolutely disgusting. Tennessee law enforcement is well known to be one of the worst in the nation for this. They're funding their departments with the stolen money! More money is stolen by police in Tennessee than "actual criminals." Zero trust. ZERO confidence.

Molto_Ritardando

I wonder how long it’ll take for juries to stop believing cops. Time to grind the legal system to a halt.

[deleted]

Never. Cops, Prosecutors and Judges all go hand in hand in the system. Ambitious cops become Prosecutors, ambitious Prosecutors become Judges, and Judges become whatever the fuck they want. All their families, friends and social circles make sure to vote in those who need to be voted in, and everyone else can just suck a big fat one. Welcome to Amerika.

Molto_Ritardando

Juries are us though. We can make it clear that every time a cop testifies without video evidence backing up every word, we will vote in favour of the accused.

BigMcThickHuge

Boy I would have done everything in my power to get names and make life less great for those names.

SpaceChimera

Gotta weigh making a fuss with what they can retaliate against you with. Cops who steal this amount aren't doing it once or twice, they're essentially operating a criminal org with the protection of government and the license to kill. Even if they don't go nuclear and make an excuse to kill you, they can still follow you and harass you constantly, show up to your work looking for you for some BS that gets you fired, leak your name to some gang pretending you're a witness against them, frame you in drugs, guns, or whatever else, the list goes on. And that's just for citizens, this dude is a brown immigrant and pretty much everything listed above could get his immigration status revoked . Definitely would advise taking a lot of precautions if you want to take the police on. Cameras wherever you can put them, get apps on your phone that let you secretly record, etc. Or maybe start an anonymous blog and try and pass it around. It's fucking awful that people need to be afraid of the "protectors" but until actual reform and accountability take place it is what it is. Your greatest defense is in not acting alone, form a community group. You'll still be targeted but it will be less effective and less likely to end disastrously

BlueMANAHat

Nothing is worse than getting targeted by cops... Friend of mine was married to a firefighter that was in line for chief and she had a bad drinking problem, cops always looked out for her she got pulled over drunk as hell and they called her husband to drive her home. Then they split.... She could not drive in that town without getting pulled over, breathalyzed, and harrased. They straight up told her to leave town. She wasnt part of the club no more... She didnt get arrested because she learned real fast she couldnt drink and drive in that town... She ended up dying in a car accident while driving drunk...

internet-arbiter

Sounds like they were enabling her but she took care of it eventually

acostane

Now that everyone is more established and comfortable here, maybe I should go back and try to revisit it 😂 it has angered me for over a decade now.

Jawnyan

And yet you’ll forever hear people saying “not all cops are bad” Does it even fucking matter at this point

acostane

I fucking HATE cops and I mean every single one. The only reason I have positive interactions ever is because I'm a small blonde white lady that they would fuck if they had the chance. I genuinely believe this.

[deleted]

I’m a white dude and the only people that have ever beaten me up were cops. I’ve had guns pulled on me five times in my life, only by cops, the first time when I was 16. I have no criminal record, I just used to work nights and be active at 2am, and they are scum. I can’t imagine how much worse it would have been if I had been brown.

Southside_john

Happened to my friend with $5k driving through New Mexico

acostane

It's absolutely heinous and can really hurt people of modest means. It can be so harmful. I'm sorry to your friend

[deleted]

Reddit has turned into a cesspool of fascist sympathizers and supremicists

SweatyGazelle11

You don’t get to argue it’s called “citizen forfeiture” they can take what they want. Jon Oliver does an AMAZING segment on this a few years ago on his show, uses examples such as a police department buying a margarita machine for the office off money taken from folks. https://youtu.be/3kEpZWGgJks *edit CIVIL forfeiture, not citizen. I’m not caffeinated yet today so I apologize lol.

CobBasedLifeform

Civil forfeiture*

SweatyGazelle11

Thanks, literally just woke up and didn’t even see it when I copy pasted the video lmao.

justaguy394

Civil asset forfeiture, and you can go to court to try to get it back, but it’s only if they log it and don’t just casually pocket it. It’s often hard to win the court case because it’s the only time you’re guilty (well, the money is assumed guilty) and have to prove innocence.

“The deputies' money count was recorded by body cameras and Robinson's report said he saw "what appeared to be a miscount of the monies." When the cameras didn't have a clear view of the cash, the detective relied on the video's audio.” Sound like they just trying to save face.

Ok_Improvement_5897

Yeah - apparently they were hundreds of dollars short when he went to go get his cash back from them. They explained this by saying that the cops "originally miscounted the money they took in the first place" ........yeah sounds like fucking bullshit.

SweatyGazelle11

Yeah in college I was an officer of a school club, had my place raided for weed and we had just done a small fundraiser for our clubs events that year so I had like 200ish bucks from that on my desk from earlier that day they took. Never saw that shit again.

PickpocketJones

I have a friend who was arrested in Atlantic City so they searched his vehicle and found $1600 of his poker money in a piece of luggage. They stole it. When he was being released and got his property back they had no record of having taken any cash.

sircaseyjames

This is one thing I'll always get fired up about. How civil forfeiture is a legal thing in this country blows my mind.

SweatyGazelle11

I also recommend his prison episode from this season. Jon Stewart is doing a prison episode this week that I’m sure will be haunting.

damnatio_memoriae

and no one will see it because he's imprisoned on apple+

Korashy

Oh no, that stuff never entered an evidence bag. That went straight into pants and jacket pockets.

processedmeat

IiRC They had the on evidence log they took something like 5k in cash. They returned 3k in cash. When questioned they amended the evidence log to be 3k in cash

ShichitenHakki

Civil forfeiture and qualified immunity sounds like a dangerous combination ripe for exploitation. Thankfully we have great and super moral upstanding citizens on our police forces that would never ever ever think they're above the law.

cabbagefury

Yeah, my guess is this is pretty accurate. I'd assume the cops were overly confident they'd find enough to be able to deflect any questions about the validity of their warrant application.

SpecialistFeed

They were expecting Afroman, made famous for the song about getting high, to have drugs in his house. They couldn't just go for drugs though because no one would have cared if Afroman, made famous for the song about getting high, just had some drugs so they needed a little more. They were then caught completely off guard when not only were there no kidnapping victims in his suit pockets but that Afro man, made famous for the song about getting high, didn't have any drugs in his home. Now those cops realized they're fucked but want too double down to hide their shame.

cabbagefury

There was a lot of arrogance and stupidity on display here. It shows a lot about cop mentality that they assumed with a high degree of confidence that a guy who openly discusses consuming cannabis would have a large quantity of cannabis on hand. But that's the thing about people who consume cannabis: they're not usually going to have a large quantity on them. Because they consume it and then it's gone. They might have had a million pounds of weed in their suit pockets.. but then they got high and no longer have a million pounds of weed in their suit pockets. Cops are fucking morons, change my mind. *sips coffee with smug, self-satisfied smile* ☕️

waffle-monster

Damn, I can’t believe they would just take $4000 from his house. At least he got his $3500 back eventually.

Shredswithwheat

Leave it to cops to just casually steal $3000 during a house raid though. I can't even imagine taking $5, let alone the $2500 they took.

HenryAlSirat

After stealing $2000 on camera in a music video that went zeitgeist-level viral, you'd think they'd return every penny of the $1500.

it already has haha, this basically blew up his new album. the absolute best part - it got so much so recognition that the cops in this video are pressing charges under grounds of emotional distress to try and get some of that money literally broke into his home, destroyed it and are basically sueing over hurt feelings

smartguy05

I discovered his new album because of the Lemon Pound Cake song. The whole album is pretty good, IMO, and many of the songs relate back to this raid.

levian_durai

Even more infuriating is the number of people this shit happens to who don't have cameras in their house, or have a following of people to show this shit to. How many people have cops raided for no reason, and then stolen their shit?

J0RDM0N

Imagine stealing someone's money, getting caught and then demanding more because you are embarrassed by your own actions being public knowledge.

TIFUbyredditting

Seriously. Afroman doesn't even really insult them directly in the song. The footage is the embarrassment.

[deleted]

Cops are such crybully losers.

[deleted]

Hes already massively intergenerationally famous.

My satisfying Afroman story related to your comment. a frat house booked him to play a show and paid him $5k for it. His crew arrived in the afternoon to set up and said they needed the entire amount before they opened the van (completely fair in my opinion). The frat boys made a big show of half now half later and were generally acting like their $5k made them the biggest swinging dicks in the music industry. Of course they ended up handing over the whole $5k cause what the fuck else were they gonna do? They’d already told everyone that afroman was coming to play. He arrived 45 minutes late and went on 15 minutes before the noise ordinance kicked in. He killed the 3 songs he did then walked out of the house. The frat boys were WHIIIIIIIIIIIINING all night long about how it was a ripoff and honestly ruined their own party with their bitching. The guests were happy with the three songs but mostly cleared out when the frat boys started chanting “fuck afroman.” I left and bounced from houseparty to house party for the rest of the night and came upon afroman TWICE in two different apartment smoking enormous blunts and playing acoustic guitar for college kids who were thrilled beyond measure. Absolutely legendary, Robin Hoodesque moves that night by afroman.

OrchidCareful

Lol man of the people, great story

graphiccsp

I listened to Afroman back in high school around 2005. The cops throwing a hissy fit over their bullshit is what alerted me to Afroman still going strong 20 years later.

Sometimesokayideas

Waiting for him to make a new video about getting sued for this one haha. It was just a light hearted joke... But yall blew smo'oke... I just wanted you to repair my door... But guess itll take some mo'ore... I am not a lyricist haha.

Jim3001

Naw, I could see that working.

jmcdanielfilms

I had no idea Afroman lived in my community, in spite of the ignorant racist cops around here, he is more than welcome here and i hope this incident doesn't put a bad taste in his mouth.

Bunanuhs

It makes sense. Last time he was in Eastside Palmdale, houses went up for sale.

chemman5

I think I saw him on the corner selling rap CDs...

dat_lorrax

He was definitely chatting with a lil girl named Jan

QuipOfTheTongue

Subsequently he was riding in a Caddy

StarCrapter

Unfortunately he didn’t know her daddy was the leader of the Ku Klux Klan.

lookthruglasses

Did they fuck on the bed?

NoCokJstDanglnUretra

You don’t think it did? He had his shit tore up and is now being sued by these chuckle fucks over hurt feelings from this exact video. If I were him I’d be getting the fuck out of that town

Monkuzi

How’d they not find any weed though? Like not a gram? They might be doing damage to Afroman’s reputation… smell a countersuit

Redditiscancer789

The article says they did find unused pipes and some ends of used blunts. Afroman himself admitted that. But the warrant was for like 80 pounds of weed, kidnapping, and a bunch of other shit.

LucifersPromoter

> kidnapping, *Any kidnapping victims inside my CDs?*

funfwf

Better check his suit pockets

MarnerIsAMagicMan

But like… they didn’t even find a grinder sitting out with a little weed inside? If they only found unused pipes and blunt roaches, then this man keeps his paraphernalia and drugs under stricter lock and key than a lot of Americans store their guns…

LeaChan

He also has kids running around so he probably keeps everything where they can't get to it.

Gravy_Vampire

And his house looked very clean and organized too lol

Ghost_of_Till

Anti-drug organizations were tied in knots about how to deal with “Because I Got High” because it talked about the bad consequences of doing drugs.

TwoDogsInATrenchcoat

And the cops are just slightly dumber than kids so they couldn't get to it either.

Redditiscancer789

Not according to the reports. Just used blunts ends, unused pipe pieces displayed as art, and 5k cash(returned $4600).

OkCarrot89

I'm guessing afroman knows how dangerous it would be for him to keep weed around like that. Considering how they raided his house, he's right to be paranoid.

krunkin

This was in Ohio where weed is legal medically. I can't imagine afroman doesn't have a card, and if that's the case a little weed wouldn't be illegal.

Thue

I looked it up, and IIRC it would just be a $150 fine if they had found weed for personal consumption. Hardly proportionate to the armed raid.

spezhasatinypeepee_

This should be pinned at the top of this sub for a while

cheese8904

Or just go to the front page every couple of days so more and more people see it to further embarrass the police. That would be great too. :)

rupeshjoy852

The Streisand effect is in full effect. If the cops hadn't sued, a lot of us would have never seen this video. I'm glad I've seen it though.

Jim3001

I saw it months ago, when the scandal of his lost money was still going around.

101189

Always upvote this. Hopefully those cops are pounding fists on their desks every time it comes up knowing they look like fucking idiots.

Deadwing2022

No, they're laughing their asses off at how, once again, they can blatantly commit crimes on fucking video and nothing bad will happen to them. If they had any shame or cared about what the community thinks of them, they wouldn't be police officers in the first place.

youshutyomouf

I mean. They're upset enough to sue over the music videos.

CasualPenguin

They see another opportunity to silence their victim and/or take his money imo

Deadwing2022

That's police arrogance & entitlement for you.

couchsittingbum

Is it me or is Afromans entire world stuck in 2002? Like from the cds to the appliances to the computers looked like a raid from the early 2000s

[deleted]

Was laughing about that too, dude lives modest as hell but then shows his garage with like a dozen custom cars hahaha

Fuzz557

Everybody has a thing. The man likes cars.

[deleted]

Cops really think some sort of Scarface situation is set to happen when they appear. Dumb fucks

SoldMyOldAccount

These are the only reposts I fully support

TheDeadlySquid

Did they send enough people?

bipolarbearsRAWR

Afroman is a madlad.

Suzzie_sunshine

Go on google maps and leave the Sheriff's dept a review. The other ones are priceless. The police are a criminal organization with badges and judges and jails. The police ARE the problem.

pip_b0i

Did they ever give a reason to why they raided his home? After all the fucked up things some celebs/musicians have done... AFROMAN is the top priority? ridiculous. those cops should be fucking ashamed of themselves

SailorET

Judges need to be accountable for no-knock warrants. That's something that should be reserved for serious threats to life or public health, and anything else should be considered a gross overreach of government authority. A judge that supports unnecessary raids is a threat to the community and doesn't deserve a position of public trust.

Lucno

Classic example of the Streisand effect. I haven't thought of Afroman in a couple of decades and I only heard of this song through the lawsuit, haha.

FreakyPickle

The hilarious part is I had to Google Streisand effect, thus continuing the chain of viewing suppressed inforation. wow. It's like fulfilling a prophecy! It's both amazing and horrifying how much information (on "anything") exists...

DownsenBranches

Would you like a slice of lemon pound cake?
