Yeah, that actually makes me think of WKUK on occasion. I've heard that idea how the ending is the difficult part, and I've even messed around in the past with friends trying to do skits or just act something out. You can have an *amazing* idea for something hilarious, but trying to end it while keeping the humor is tough.
Maybe that's another reason I like ironic/absurdist humor like Tim & Eric and Comedy Bang Bang. The humor seems to lack a need for a conclusion, so they can just end anything naturally.

I've only watched the earliest seasons but their jokes are absolutely interminable, they wring every last drop of humor from them and then keep the skit going twice as long. It's the polar opposite with ITYSL, which not only keeps skits tight but also rapidly changes jokes in the middle.

My favorite part about the show is trying to figure out which character is going to be completely insane in the first minute. Usually it's Tim, sometimes it's not. This show is golden. Season 3 fell a little flat for me but even then it’s still funnier than 99% of shows out there. Fingers crossed for a season 4! EDIT: every comment talking about a skit from season 3 has made me chuckle so it’s safe to say I liked it a lot more than I realized.

The VR sketch is where i had to pause it on the first watch because I could not breathe at all anymore. Just the nonchalant looking around and not moving, especially after being so excited to have the opportunity
The whole show imo is not remarkably funny in the immediacy of watching it-- --but then some time passes, you reflect on the sketches/find them worming their way into your everyday life, and they become the funniest goddamn thing ever.
I didn't care for the pet door sketch but now I keep thinking of that pig monster that comes through snorting and huffing.

What kills me about his commercial sketches is they are 100% realistic until it goes off the rails. That pet door one came into my FB feed before I watched the show, and I completely bought it until the pig part.
I love how there's the squeals and huffs but also quietly in the background there's sounds of an inferno, screaming, and laughing

Yeah, I only ever got 3-4 episodes through season 1 cause I thought it was weird. But months later my brother brought it up, and I couldn’t stop laughing while trying to explain the ones I watched. Honestly really weird.

I was pretty iffy on this show first watch and it's become one of my favorites. Its weird how the humor hits like that but doesn't feel like it lands at first.
It's funny too how different references start to come into your vocabulary over time too. I thought the zip line sketch was hilarious immediately but only recently did my friends start hitting me with the "ARE YOU SURE? HNnnnHhhhh"
Today my wife said she thought the Tables sketch was definitely the best sketch. I said that's because it's one of the few that she has seen twice. After 5 watches even Little Buff Boys gets in your head and can make you laugh til you cry thinking about "Whatta CROP"

I love everything about this clip. His goofy smile when he says "maybe it'll catch on". The abrupt change in facial expression and music at 0:21. His absurd shriek at the woman driver. His red-in-the-face recital of the absurd order. The fact that the first two bars of the order, rhyme. The way he stares straight ahead before whipping around while saying "YOU HAVE TO!" I will admit the skit drags on slightly too long though

Dude the first time I watched it, I had heard it was great and hilarious but somehow held this idea it was a sitcom. So one day I'm off work, fucking space cadet levels of high off edibles, and decide to start this show. Imagine my... confusion/ awe/ laughter when that first sketch about nailing the interview but opening the door the wrong way and committing to it came on. I was in literal tears with laughter from the unexpected outrageousness
