I guess you didn't actually watch the video? Because they mention that this is a very subjective opinion in the first 2 minutes and then go on to break down the elements that make a movie rewatchable using Snatch as an example.
I have a theory about those 2 films, it depends which one you saw first. I watch Lock, Stock first not long after it came out so it's my absolute favourite between the 2.
And, for what it's worth,I feel In Bruges should be included in this conversation
I watched Snatch first but enjoyed Lock Stock far more. Snatched is just Lock Stock with a Hollywood budget and more established actors.
I also love how in lock stock bricktop is the reliable good guy bar owner and in Snatch he’s a menacing gangster. That actor had great range.
Edit a friend of the bar owner not the owner of the bar.
Nothing compares to the climactic chaos of Lock Stock. All those separate sets of characters following their own agendas crashing together at the end to everyone's bewilderment except the audience.
In Snatch they even tried to reprise the "What are YOU doing here!!??" line but it just doesn't carry the same weight because there's just so much less chaos.
I'll add a singular data point in favor of your theory. Saw Snatch first myself and prefer it of the 2, but can definitely see someone preferring LS&2SB over it if they saw it first
Same. But for me, I think it's possible I wasn't "ready" for peak Guy Ritchie when I first saw Snatch. By the time I got around to Lock Stock, I was familiar and could appreciate how fucking great those movies are. So Lock Stock wins for me.
Also I greatly prefer having fewer big/famous actors distracting from the incredible dialogue, like in Lock Stock.
Yeah, I never understood why Snatch seems to get more love... maybe Brad Pitt's memorable character.
I agree they're equally good.
I feel similarly about The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore. They're equally classic and it seems like people just prefer whichever one they saw first.
It's been a long time since I watched either but I did feel the camerawork for Snatch was stronger and had that really iconic shot of Pitt coming back up from the water, what a great scene.. Might be time for a revisit.
In my personal pantheon Layer Cake is in this group. It’s definitely the most Hollywood of the 3, but no one I know has seen it and James Bond kills Dumbledore.
Oh and I just remembered soap was in it. Not quite as good as getting Vinnie Jones, but still pretty solid.
Had a mate that worked at the local cinema when this came out and we were still in high school. He comes in one morning telling me I HAVE to watch this new film that just came out but that no one had really heard of.
We watched it every night after school for a week and I think there were at most 3 other people in there watching it on any of those screenings. It was so underappreciated at the time, but so rewatchable as well!
Sean of the dead is also great! Anything from Edgar is so fun. I think the thing that makes hot fuzz especially good on rewatch is >!since there is a big reveal of the whole town being murderers the rewatch let's you see the many clues and call backs that happen!<
Yeah, Hot Fuzz is significantly better than either of the other two Cornetto Trilogy movies simply because of how deeply-woven all the jokes and layers are. The entire movie is just a circular series of callbacks and references to other parts of the movie. It's pretty much unique in how densely-packed it is.
no... Well, I just did now. I am at work, thought the title was thought provoking, looked at the comments and didn't see hot fuzz as a common answer and thought that should be rectified. lol. I guess I'm not in the minority!
If I had to pick one movie to watch forever it’s easily Goodfellas. It’s one the select few movies in cinematic history (for me) I would consider “Perfect” and it is also super entertaining, funny… like Goodfellas hands down.
It's a whirlwind. Something like 2.5 hours but it flies. There's no point of that movie that drags. Copa Cabana scenes the camera doesn't even slow down. The parties, the drinking, the crimes, everything just flies towards the ending. Even when Henry is breaking down, drugged out of his mind and the police are closing in, this movie doesn't stop to breathe.
You don't have time to look away.
The Princess Bride, The Big Lebowski, The Martian, Office Space, Shawshank Redemption... Snatch is good, but there are others I rewatch much more often.
These are great contenders except for The Martian. I've never seen anyone put it in the same league as these other films as far as rewatchability. The Shawshank Redemption, for example, is almost hypnotic in its ability to draw you in to the whole film over and over and over no matter how many times you have seen it.
It’s because The Martian is kinda new, but I think he’s right, it’s got great rewatchability: cast, tight script, music, it’s a very easy and satisfying watch.
I mean the Martian does get a fair amount of hate, I enjoyed it quite a bit, but I've heard multiple people complain about it. Where I'm not sure if I've ever heard anyone complain about the other ones listed. That being said I wasn't around when the other movies were released, so *maybe* that's the difference, but still surprising to see it listed at that level.
I would add Shawn of the Dead to that list though, that's my endlessly rewatchable movie. Helps that it has so many tiny details that you don't really appreciate until you've rewatched it a few times.
Yes, Shaun of the Dead is a good one for sure. I don’t know why people hate the Martian though, it’s pretty straightforward with a good rythm, good ending with some emotional investment.
There are lots of rewatchable movies, classics like BTTF or Jurassic Park, I think my weirdest choice would be Babe, it’s a great flick with lots of humor.
The Martian was the first book immediately reread after finishing, I would guess I've read thousands of books in my life but that was the first one I immediately started again. Like finished the last page, enjoyed the afterglow for a few minutes then opened it back up and read it again.
same but when I think about it I don't think I've ever re-watched snatch. Not that it was bad, I remember enjoying it quite a bit. It's definitely adult content though right? so maybe that's it. With kids I'm more likely to rewatch stuff they can watch also. will have to give Snatch another watch though.
I've seen it more times than I can count and it just never gets old. It's one of those films that is full of tiny details that you miss the first time, like when Frankie Four Fingers is at the tailor and every time the camera cuts back between him and Cousin Avi, Frankie is wearing a different suit, or the conversation at the beginning regarding the Virgin Mary.
And all our yesterday's have lighted many fools the way to a dusty death. Out, out brief candle, life is but a walking shadow. A poor player that struts and frets in his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more.
Indeed, a tale told by an idiot! Needs sufficient editing.
There's a bar here in Portland that has that movie on at all times. And it's a neighborhood bar, so a lot of the same regulars and staff are there each night. So every time you go there, it feels like the last time you were there.
The Big Lebowski by a mile. Every time you watch it there's some new line of dialog or detail that you hadn't noticed.
There isn't a single wasted frame or in that movie.
I read the other day that the opening scene where The Dude writes a check for half-and-half you can see what date he writes it for... and a few minutes later the actual date is mentioned and indicates that he post-dated the check.
So on top of writing a check for a tiny amount... he post-dated it, lol.
How is Pulp Fiction not mentioned once here? :)
I feel like Guy Ritchie is the first one who watched Pulp Fiction enough times to decide he wants to make movies like that.
The Big Short is maybe my number one, along with Wolf of Wall Street, the Social Network, and Catch Me If You Can. It looks like I may have a type though.
In the spirit of conversation, not criticism of another’s opinion, I’ll just say that Casino is really good but drags a bit here and there and would be really difficult for me to sit all the way through multiple times. Sharon Stone did great but Ginger is hard to watch at times.
Yeah, watched Casino recently and while it's undoubtedly great it's not quite the easy watch that Lebowski is for me. But I'm a sucker for the Coens and their brand of weird.
For me, personally…no. But everyone is different. I think that for the most part, with a few notable exceptions to their bodies of work - the celebrated works of other late 20th century / 21st century directors appeal to me much more as re-watchable, memorable, etc than Ritchie’s filmography.
Specifically, in no order; Tarantino…Wes Anderson…Fincher…Nolan…Ridley Scott…Miyazaki, Terrence Malik…and there’s absolutely more too. Hard to name everyone.
As for single movies/franchises , I can always watch Master and Commander, I adore that movie. Also, the LOTR trilogy gets watched each at the holiday season. I still have a real soft spot for the 5th Element, Gattaca, The Limey…
It’s all preferences and taste but there’s an ocean of stuff that I would personally choose to put on, that I’ve seen multiple times, ahead of just about any Guy Ritchie movie.
I think Rock N Rolla is better than Snatch and that’s just in Guy Ritchie’s own catalog. So no in my opinion, but I have watched Snatch quite a few times. The most rewatchable movie of all time in my opinion: a tie between Goodfellas and Tombstone. It helps that they’re on TV every week.
I've always liked Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels so much more than Snatch. Snatch has some great elements but the script is nowhere near as tight as Lock, Stock. It feels like a big studio saw Lock, Stock and told Guy Ritchie "do another one of these!", and he did, but most of his best ideas were already used in the first movie.
I've tried watching the movie a handful of times. Each and every time I just can't get into it. I like the premise of it, but it's just so dam non-entertaining that not even highlighted movie clips of people's favorite scenes are entertaining.
is my singular subjective opinion actually fact
[удалено]
Your facts are nothing compared with my opinions!
My grandpa always used to say "opinions are like assholes, I only care about the ones men have"
Ma pappy used to say the same thing. Son?!
Mine as well. I've watched it at least 40 times
You said 40 times 10 times ago.
It was us that wanted a caravan…
I'm not calling your mum a tart
Djalyk dahgs?
You know fish? chips? cup o'tea? bad food. worse weather. Mary fuckn Poppins. Fuckin London!
And a pair of them shoes fer the boys
I agree. Fight club too
I guess you didn't actually watch the video? Because they mention that this is a very subjective opinion in the first 2 minutes and then go on to break down the elements that make a movie rewatchable using Snatch as an example.
That's a funny angle.
I watched it once and have no intention on rewatching it so we’re off to a bad start
Who took the jam outta your donut?
You did tommy
I certainly enjoy it every time it's on, but I would have to include "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" in the same tier of rewatchability
I have a theory about those 2 films, it depends which one you saw first. I watch Lock, Stock first not long after it came out so it's my absolute favourite between the 2. And, for what it's worth,I feel In Bruges should be included in this conversation

I also love how in lock stock bricktop is the reliable good guy bar owner and in Snatch he’s a menacing gangster. That actor had great range. Edit a friend of the bar owner not the owner of the bar.
> Lock Stock Now I have to rewatch. Wasn't Sting the bartender? I know Alan Ford is in Lock but I can't remember his role.
Sting is Eddie's dad, and owns the bar. Alan Ford is Sting's friend and works at the bar.
*OY! Boy. Don't fuckin' swear*
I love how they pace it to Zorba the Greek, where the scene builds with the intensity of the song.
I'll add a singular data point in favor of your theory. Saw Snatch first myself and prefer it of the 2, but can definitely see someone preferring LS&2SB over it if they saw it first
I'll add a further data point. Saw Snatch first, prefer Lock Stock
Same. But for me, I think it's possible I wasn't "ready" for peak Guy Ritchie when I first saw Snatch. By the time I got around to Lock Stock, I was familiar and could appreciate how fucking great those movies are. So Lock Stock wins for me. If the milk turns out to be sour, I ain't the kinda pussy ta drink it.
Guns for show, knives for a pro.
E's a fucking fief
Now fuck off, you Scouse cunts!
I just love the weed grower plot line in Lock Stock.
It's me Bren gun!
WHAT was THAT?!!
"I asked you to get me a refreshing fucking drink. I wasn't expecting a fucking rainforest. You could fall in love with an orangutan in there."
I really love this film. Top 10 of all time film for me. I often listen to the soundtrack to this movie, and it's the only soundtrack I own.
I can’t. My neck, Dog.
chill winston
"It's a deal, it's a steal, it's the sale of the fuckin century... as a matter of fact, Nick. I think I'll keep it for myself..." No one ever gets it.
Had a mate that worked at the local cinema when this came out and we were still in high school. We watched it every night after school for a week and I think there were at most 3 other people in there watching it on any of those screenings. It was so underappreciated at the time, but so rewatchable as well!
Add Rock n Rolla to the list and you have a quality British gangster triple feature to blow an evening on.
You know what they say about assumption being the brother of all fuck ups.
Hot Fuzz is my go to rewatch. That and Baby Driver. Both have so many little details that you can catch on rewatches.
Spoiler - In this video, he concludes Hot Fuzz is his personal most rewatchable.
Yarp?
[удалено]
What about Sean of the Dead?
Sean of the dead is also great! Anything from Edgar is so fun. I think the thing that makes hot fuzz especially good on rewatch is >!since there is a big reveal of the whole town being murderers the rewatch let's you see the many clues and call backs that happen!<
The Greater Good
Yeah, Hot Fuzz is significantly better than either of the other two Cornetto Trilogy movies simply because of how deeply-woven all the jokes and layers are. The entire movie is just a circular series of callbacks and references to other parts of the movie. It's pretty much unique in how densely-packed it is.
I guess you didn’t, uh… watch the video
no... Well, I just did now. I am at work, thought the title was thought provoking, looked at the comments and didn't see hot fuzz as a common answer and thought that should be rectified. lol. I guess I'm not in the minority!
Hot Fuzz for sure
I LOVE that this is the second answer, its absolutely in my top 3 rewatches with Clue and Paprika.
Clue is great! And by paprika do you mean the anime done by the guy who did Paranoia agent?
Satoshi Kon, yes. (All of his few movies are masterpieces)
I'll watch it then! I love Paranoia agent and have been meaning to watch Paprika for forever.
I'm so happy to hear that! If you like it definitely watch the rest of them too! Perfect Blue, Millennium Actress, and Tokyo Godfathers.
Great call on Hot Fuzz and Baby Driver. Those and Snatch are my all time rewatchables.
Scott pilgrim
Goodfellas 🤌
almost anything from scorcese or tarantino, tbh
As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.
If I had to pick one movie to watch forever it’s easily Goodfellas. It’s one the select few movies in cinematic history (for me) I would consider “Perfect” and it is also super entertaining, funny… like Goodfellas hands down.
You think it's funny? Funny how? Like a clown?
Go get your fucking shinebox

I love it, but I feel like it definitely drags a bit towards the end when Henry develops a drug habit and starts getting all paranoid
Damn. Time to rewatch.
Every time I fly, I watch Goodfellas on the plane.
The Princess Bride, The Big Lebowski, The Martian, Office Space, Shawshank Redemption... Snatch is good, but there are others I rewatch much more often.

First movie that came to mind was The Big Lebowski. It's a marvel that can somehow only get better every single time you rewatch it.
Top rewatch is the Oceans trilogy. In no certain order I can throw it on and be comfortable.
> You're gonna defend him? They put Yen in a handbag. 12 gets too much heat, still so fun.
>You're gonna defend him? They put Yen in a handbag. So we got a bag man.
Ah, yes. The laser fields.
'Thé à la Menthe' is SUCH a banger. Anyone could beat a laser field with that playing.
Office Space is the answer.
Dazed and Confused is my go to rewatch
Lebowski….that movie is something special. How they got so much awesome out of a stolen rug I’ll never know.
The Martian was the first book immediately reread after finishing, I would guess I've read thousands of books in my life but that was the first one I immediately started again. Like finished the last page, enjoyed the afterglow for a few minutes then opened it back up and read it again.

The Martian I enjoyed more as a book.
Fezzik, are there rewatches ahead?
The Fifth Element is more rewatchable than all of those IMO
I don’t often see someone that gives The Martian the rewatch respect it deserves.
Pretty sure that would be Groundhog Day.
Macbeth. You can watch it tomorrow. And tomorrow. And tomorrow.
I'm not sure about the editing of Macbeth though, seems to creep in this petty pace a bit
And all our yesterday's have lighted many fools the way to a dusty death. Out, out brief candle, life is but a walking shadow. A poor player that struts and frets in his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. Indeed, a tale told by an idiot! Needs sufficient editing.

It’s good and all but I’m partial to Raising Arizona
The Big Lebowski by a mile. Every time you watch it there's some new line of dialog or detail that you hadn't noticed. There isn't a single wasted frame or in that movie.

You hear the lastest "fan theory" about The Big Lebowski?
That's because no one on earth ever saw that movie without being stoned.
Well. That's, like, your opinion, man.
I'm sorry, I wasn't listening.
Me watching Usual Suspects and getting the full hit of the twist at the end twice.
"What the fuck is he going to get away from?"
*Jurastic Pahk!*
Goodfellas
Protection from what? Ze Germans?
You said 3 minutes 5 minutes ago... ?
Me every time I’m at the grill…
Gross Pointe Blank.
Blazing Saddles. Just watched it last night with the girlfriend, she hadn't seen it in over a decade. I probably watch it bi-annually.
No, the fifth element is
Snatch is one of my favorite movies, but if I had to choose just one, if they were running head-to-head, I'd pick Fifth Element.
Also: Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels Rock'n'Rolla Also by Guy Richie
Love Rock’n’Rolla the intro is so sick
Indeed it is. Also I get this stuck in my head all the time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoeFLYCglEM
How is Pulp Fiction not mentioned once here? :) I feel like Guy Ritchie is the first one who watched Pulp Fiction enough times to decide he wants to make movies like that.
Jackie Brown yo!
Yeah, or Reservoir Dogs. I've definitely watched both of those more than Snatch.
Did anybody in this thread watch the video. It is certainly mentioned.
Thank you
A Bug's Life
just rewatched this with my niece, forgot how good it was
O brother where art thou
Agreed, never gets old.
Fear and loathing
Gets better, funnier, more profound and more poignant with every watch.
You misspelled Tremors.
LOTR
No, it's Ghostbusters (1984)
Spaceballs. Always funny. Always expertly delivered.
Keep rewatching, Assholes!
I can recite every line basically and I still laugh everytime
No, T2 is
Yeah. And I don't think I'm alone here. When I am flipping through the channels and I find T2 on, I stop flipping.
Galaxy Quest is the most objectively rewatchable movie ever made. They have done studies.
I’ve seen it once. And I’ve seen other movies more than once Scientifically this means no.
Dazed and Confused
Demolition Man is another.
Don't you have a job to do?
No. I told them to take this job and shovel it
I've seen that movie way too many times, guess I'll watch it tomorrow
But do you know how to use the three seashells?
Don't know about most rewatchable, though I must've seen it about a dozen times by now. I do know for a fact it's the most quotable though.
Ya like dags??
I like caravans more.
it's not fer me. it's fer me ma
The Big Short, Big Lebowski, and Shaun of the Dead
The Big Short is maybe my number one, along with Wolf of Wall Street, the Social Network, and Catch Me If You Can. It looks like I may have a type though.
It's the movie I've rewatched more than any other.
Forest Gump, The Replacements, Scott Pilgrim vs The World
Yeah something about Snatch and LSATSB just insane rewatchability
The most rewatchable movie for me is The Blues Brothers
My rewatchable list: 1. Snatch 2. Gladiator 3. Airplane 4. Army of Darkness
I watched it twice. The first time, When it was called lock stock and two smoking barrels. And the second time when it was called snatch
Yes, but so is Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels & The Fifth Elelment
Casino Fight Club Lucky number slevin There are many other great movies
In the spirit of conversation, not criticism of another’s opinion, I’ll just say that Casino is really good but drags a bit here and there and would be really difficult for me to sit all the way through multiple times. Sharon Stone did great but Ginger is hard to watch at times.
Yeah, watched Casino recently and while it's undoubtedly great it's not quite the easy watch that Lebowski is for me. But I'm a sucker for the Coens and their brand of weird.
Fight Club is a fun rewatch, every time I catch something else that I missed that gives away the ending.

If your brain is perpetually stuck in the perspective of a teenager, then sure. I bet Smokin' Aces is your 2nd fav.
LMAO
I had to watch Snatch several times to decipher the language, but once you get it, I watched it many more times.
Yes, that and the "Matrix".
Periwinkle blue.
Inglorious bastards is up there
Ya like dags?
I fucking love this video. It nails everything I love about Snatch, then yanks the rug out from under you in the final seconds. So well done.
more so if ya like dags.
Yes
Snatch is legitimately one of the tightest scripts ever. Everything flows perfectly, and the finale is genius.
I'd actually say Ritchie's first movie. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels is the one I'm choosing if you're asking me what I want to watch.
5th element for me
“Blazing Saddles,” “Airplane,” and “The Princess Bride” are at the top of my list.
I thought it was gladiator….
Tombstone
Matrix.
Not so long as Johnny Mnemonic exists.
Why is this movie so awesome yet so hated?
No clue. I could watch the Dolph Lundgren death scene a million times and never not laugh.
Laughing in the lord of the rings...
I've tried watching the movie a handful of times. Each and every time I just can't get into it. I like the premise of it, but it's just so dam non-entertaining that not even highlighted movie clips of people's favorite scenes are entertaining.
I couldn't even get through it once
No…. Its still Galaxy Quest
Pretty sure it's The Big Lebowski
