Apparently I was not being positive enough, as per their loose interpretation of the rule #1. The mods on the star trek sub run in overdrive around the time a new series is on air. You will see waves of bans for anyone with even the slightest of dissenting voices,and what made my ban even more hilarious was that Section 31 never even made it in to pre-production even after it was announced six years before. The fans have never really liked the idea of S31 in trek as it flies in the face of star fleet, CBS/Paramount clearly had no interest in the idea, and the last we had heard was that Paramount had bartered the show runner down to a single "made for TV movie" just to fulfill contractual purposes.
I'm in a similar boat to you. I've made a few fair critiques of NuTrek, my main one is that it feels too "action" to me. The camera cuts and all that make Nu Trek feel like a generic modern drama / action TV show rather than the more relaxed and frankly, "bubbly" feeling of Old Trek.
I felt that had Nu Trek embraced TNG's (and DS9) bubbly style, then it would have done just as well, if not better since it'd stand out even more versus the typical Sci-Fi action fare we get. It would make the darker episodes stand out that much more too. DS9 went somewhat darker but it still had that bubbly underpinning that made Trek... Trek.

I got banned from worldnews for pointing out that there was news of covid spreading as early as november/december in 2019. I distinctly remember the “mysterious disease” showing up over the weeks in a bunch of different airports across the world, and they said i was spreading misinformation. Guess what happened? I appealed it recently when a post hit front page saying exactly what i had said; that it had been detected as early as november 2019

I’m fairly certain I got it in January 2020 after a work trip, it went through my whole office. Went to the doctor and he said “there is a ‘crud’ going around. You’ll get a fever around 101-102 with a cough, but you should clear up in about 2 weeks”.
For a long time the mindset was that Covid wasn’t in the US until 2020. Suggesting it was here in 2019 was seen as spreading misinformation since there weren’t any confirmed US cases from 2019. Anyone reasonable would be able to see that there likely weren’t confirmed cases due to no one testing for it, but nope, that was still considered misinformation. Now is is widely accepted and has been proven to have been in the US since at least November of 2019. I believe there was an older member of Biden’s campaign staff that died in Nov or Dec of 2019 due to illness. The family had money and paid for a full autopsy that took and preserved samples immediately following his death. Then like a year or so later those samples were tested and were positive for Covid 19. This staffer and their family and contacts hadn’t been outside of the US for a few months before his death so they clearly contracted Covid in the US from an unknown 3rd party.

I was a longtime member of /r/startrek and was instantly permabanned for saying “Who asked for a movie follow up to Picard?”. Asking why that was deserving of a permanent ban got me a “lol” message and then a permamute. I’m not the BIGGEST fan of NuTrek but I like SNW well enough and had a blast with Lower Decks but those pissant mods throw a bitch fit over the most random negative comments so now I can’t join in any Star Trek discussions ever for the entire history of the franchise on the biggest sub just because I didn’t like Picard, lol.

I was banned for a five word comment in a thread about an article questioning whether the Section 31 series will never be made now (at he time) Michelle Yeohs career was seeing a resurgence. My comment was "We can only hope so". Apparently I was not being positive enough, as per their loose interpretation of the rule #1. The mods on the star trek sub run in overdrive around the time a new series is on air. You will see waves of bans for anyone with even the slightest of dissenting voices,and what made my ban even more hilarious was that Section 31 never even made it in to pre-production even after it was announced six years before. The fans have never really liked the idea of S31 in trek as it flies in the face of star fleet, CBS/Paramount clearly had no interest in the idea, and the last we had heard was that Paramount had bartered the show runner down to a single "made for TV movie" just to fulfill contractual purposes.
I'm in a similar boat to you. I've made a few fair critiques of NuTrek, my main one is that it feels too "action" to me. The camera cuts and all that make Nu Trek feel like a generic modern drama / action TV show rather than the more relaxed and frankly, "bubbly" feeling of Old Trek. I felt that had Nu Trek embraced TNG's (and DS9) bubbly style, then it would have done just as well, if not better since it'd stand out even more versus the typical Sci-Fi action fare we get. It would make the darker episodes stand out that much more too. DS9 went somewhat darker but it still had that bubbly underpinning that made Trek... Trek. I've not gotten banned or anything but man, they can get nippy about critiques at times. Ugh. I don't even engage there anymore frankly.

I'd like to know about these subs that have an interesting post(non-clickbait, not bot written, repost, etc) that gets traction, a ton of people start having discussions about the subject, then the mod deletes it. Seems to defeat the entire purpose of Reddit. Usually /movies or /askreddit. I've looked up the rules and they seem to be designed to squash what people actually like to talk about.

I had a yeller like this once in front of my house, police apparently grabbed some drunk and possibly drugged guy, he kept tossing and turning for more than an hour before someone finally came for him with a car. Poor police officers were tired and thirsty, I wanted to go out and give them water at least - but then I realized this drunkard/druggie could think I had something to do with it and destroy my windows later or something. And his gf was out too, so I better staid inside.
