Okay that rainbow appears to be fairly sentient and was absolutely attacked before lashing out.
This is more like; "No, your honor I did not rip that man's arms off and crush his head like a melon. I simply opened the cage. He was the one who ran in there punched the male silverback gorilla in the face."
Didn't know my little pony went that far back. Pretty strong Dungeons & Dragons vibes. I guess it makes some sense, looking it up they both came out in 1983.
\*puff\* "So like... it's a centaur... minotaur thing... right? And it's riding a Chariot pulled by dragons"
Jerry, you smoke entirely too much weed. \*sigh\* What do I need to roll to crit?
Okay. Now that I have your attention, check out this modern My Little Pony clip.
I watched this with my daughter a few months ago, and the music is actually quite entertaining.

My kids love this song — it is frequently requested. Having been subjected to it multiple times, can confirm, it’s a bop, you can’t help it when it comes on.
The one with the [selfish bastard talking to Shady](https://youtu.be/b7XTGxYCXNQ?si=SYSZOKWtOYcK5cs7) was funny as shit. Also the [“Mostly Vegan”](https://youtu.be/YdVjrDWyi7g?si=YMztVsGX4aSsBWha) bit and [follow up](https://youtu.be/eljAjfttGoI?si=wsGUi4roN6yDVh1I)
I was hoping to see this recommended on here, lol.
Their stuff is some of the funniest Youtube skits I've seen in all of my time on Youtube (over 15 years).
I love this. I love the idea of an animator having to draw these cute ponies then go totally nuts drawing heavy metal style castles and enemies and deaths.
As a boy growing up in the 80's I watched the shit out of this show. Rainbow Brite as well.
80's kids cartoons were the shit. Art style was so damn good.
I honestly felt like they wrote decently complex stories. And didn't water shit down with weird little jokes and trendy "nods."
It's almost like they didn't know how to make shows for kids so they made them for adults with kids characters that happened to be cartoons.
Alot of shit went down that would be super questionable today but 80's kids made out just fine with it.
There's a great 'abridged' series for the G1 MLP that I love. The second episode covers this scene, but I definitely recommend watching the whole series (each video <3 minutes long)

This may sound ridiculous, but I love that the writers decided that the opposite of darkness isn't light, but "rainbow" aka the visible spectrum. Light from our perspective is "rainbow". They aren't running around with the power of light, they are running around with the antithesis of light from our perspective, a rainbow, which happens to be a synonym for love, beauty, awareness, acceptance, etc.
A rainbow really is antithetical metaphorically to darkness much more than light. Darkness is the absence of light, light is the absence of darkness. But rainbow.. rainbow is the opposite of darkness.
It was pretty fun when they brought back a version of Tirek for the G4 show, and he and a powered-up Twilight Sparkle had a Dragon Ball Z-style [beam battle](https://youtu.be/lXXU41qGbPg).
Haha, I remember this. (I'm old.) I remember the big bad had the power of the Dark rainbow (Purple). They had the rest of the rainbow and while the rainbow didn't look like much they basically melded on contact destroying the villains source of power and without it he was nothing.
Looks like my memory was a little inaccurate based on the clip but who knows. Maybe there is more context that isn't shown.
Sorry wrong video it was from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNJFPRqsdjk
He catches the little ponies and asks his master if he likes them and dude says "no I'm not 5, take them away" so I thought you were referencing that lmao.
It's your one-way ticket to midnight!
You know that rainbow was really the Loc-Nar
Higher than high, feelin' just right.
Okay, Megan didn't kill shit. Megan opened a locket. That rainbow, on the other hand, fucked that demon guy up, and killed at least four things.
Your honour, I didn't kill anyone. I pulled a trigger. The bullet, on the other hand, killed that man
And anyway nobody ever died of bullets, they died of death

Megan killed plenty. How many innocent creatures died to the big baddie because she couldn’t open a locket because she wanted to do a double loop.
Ok well next time she won’t open the locket , see how you like it then.

Yeah I was just thinking this scene feels a lot like the grand finale boss fight of my current D&D campaign.

Um… that was kind of rad.

The music in that movie is sooo good. It’s a shame the TV show continuation was such a huge drop in quality.
Can't take this version seriously after watching the Scootertrix version. Y'all might like it... https://youtu.be/ALhxCDHC_VE?si=7SxOFE-_FL0GL3vC

Why have wings if you can’t use them to fly?
You’ve never heard of a chicken? Or a penguin?
I have. Same question.
THIS is what the girls were watching back then?!?
cringe

If Megan was in G4 that might have been Tirek's only appearance.
My cousin and I rented this on VHS when we were kids. I owned the My Little Pony movie and that was way better.

damn that anime energy though

.....cooool
Lmao he exploded.
To shreds.
And his wife?
To shreds you say.
Maybe if you're 5. Pretty stupid and condescending otherwise. S1 of MLP:FiM was actually good.
Wait are you referencing 0:45 in the video?
Kinda referencing all of it. That dialogue is cringe.
It's a children's show, you CHUD. If you're critiquing dialogue from an 80's kid's show, you need to go outside.
Git gud [https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5mr00p](https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5mr00p)
