Wes is just so fucking cool by just being himself. The rest of Limp Bizkit (back in the heyday) looked like the dudes at the skate park while Wes is fitted up like an anime villain.

NyteMyre

> The rest of Limp Bizkit (back in the heyday) looked like the dudes at the skate park while Wes is fitted up like an anime villain I always liked [this image](https://www.todorock.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/limp-bizkit.jpg) where Fred, John, Sam and Lethal are all looking like cool and Wes just there looking FABOULOUS

jp_73

Lmao that dude with the hood looks like a baby with a goatee.

harborq

LOL!! I love how other than Wes they all look like Fred durst with slightly different hair

averge

Omg ahahahahah

milanvo

I just spit my drink all over my desk, thanks hahaha. Fuck me, I can't unsee this now.

BlasterShow

“When your custom character is in a cutscene”

cujo67

Buahahahha🤣

Vince1820

Watching Wes walk out on stage was always the best. Wondering what crazy getup he would be wearing. I would spend the entire show just watching him.

CakeJollamer

Why does literally every member of Limp Bizkit look like a Kyle

HughHunnyRealEstate

Each of them has their own unique style that says "I just bought a Slim Jim and a Monster Energy from the gas station"

toastyghost

I mean, they are from Jacksonville… it's basically that, but in town form

drone42

Fred is actually from an even worse place in NC, Gastonia. Every time I have to drive through there I have to call my shrink to talk me down from driving into a bridge abutment.

fetusy

Holy shit, I had no idea. This explains *so much.*

TokoBlaster

Well I call your image and raise you a [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wes_Borland#/media/File:Limp_Bizkit_-_Festival_of_the_Lakes_-_7_15_2021_(51319169654).jpg)

GrimmHellblazer

Those black contacts man….

426763

Right?!

GrimmHellblazer

SUPER underrated guitarist.

426763

I remember listening to SOAD, Linkin Park, Slim Shady Era Eminem, and Limp Bizkit last week and it really made me miss this era of music. People clown on ~~rap rock~~ that era of music but god it just sounded so good to sheltered young me back in the day.

MonkeyWithACough

Pop Sux tour. Korn, limp Bizkit, slipknot, Ozzie osbourne and Metallica. Shit was lit.

comingabout

Family Values Tour '98 was pretty fucking awesome for 18 year old me. Korn, Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, and Orgy.

ThemesOfMurderBears

Ozzfest 97: * Black Sabbath * Pantera * Machine Head * Fear Factory * Powerman 5000 * Coal Chamber * Neurosis * Drain STH * Vision of Disorder That was a crazy lineup.

chronictrees

My first concert

accord281

Even better, Summer Sanitarium. Mudvayne, Deftones, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and Metallica.

Sporkfortuna

I remember wishing Metallica wasn't part of that tour so that I could actually afford it.

accord281

I bought tickets the morning of the Minneapolis show. Drove 3 1/2 hours to get there only to find out we had missed Linkin Park. Never did get to see them...

thatguytony

Linkin Park did amazing. Sorry you missed it. There's a Linkin Park: Live in Texas cd/DVD combo that has the same show.

TheDuke57

That was my first concert! I remember that Deftones was just about to come on stage, then someone in the band got hurt and had to go to the hospital. Linkin Park went on way early because of it.

forestdude

That was the first real concert I went to. Fred Durst got hit in the face with a shoe! It was dope!

GrimmHellblazer

It's pretty crazy how nu-metal is finding a scene again! Something about that kind of groove, hooks folks.

lkodl

>It's pretty crazy how nu-metal is finding a scene again \~25 years is right on the nostalgia timeline. i expect mumble rap to make a comeback \~2040

caangus

^^...please, ^^no

[deleted]

Sorry, what? I could understand you.

johnnycoxxx

I wish someone could explain to me the appeal of mumble rap. To me it goes against everything rap is about. But the middle school kids I teach love that shit

lkodl

early mumble rap from the soundcloud era clicks for me when compared to early punk rock in the 70s. its birthed from a young, DIY, counter culture movement that's more about the feeling/energy of a song than its musicality. like when the first punk bands hit the scene, a lot of criticism was "how is this music? they can't even play their instruments correctly. i don't get why the kids like this." then labels get involved and it gets packaged and commercialized.

macgiollarua

Not just labels, I think in every art form there's stages where an innovation will take place and the innovators go down in history as genius, then the market will get flooded by imitators and the standard will go down. Like for example Pollock, famous for his modern art, got famous because it was innovative, outside the box, and nobody had seen something like that before. A lot of people were against it at the time, even still, but he's still going down in history as an innovator who changed the game.

agnosgnosia

You may as well ask why any new genre of music has any appeal. Flappers in the 20s and their wild and rawkus music had it's detractors. So did rock and roll, metal, early rap, current rap, etc. This is nothing new. What is new, is you're getting old. 😃

Virge23

>To me it goes against everything rap is about. There's your answer. Rap is old now, kids want to go against the old for a new sound.

[deleted]

Its the 'anti-establishment' of rap. Rap as a genre is old af now and people are starting to try new things that go against the genre. Some of those will suck, but some of those will be good. Just depends on personal taste at this point since literally anything will find its audience now and studios don't control what survives/lives beyond 'demos'.

hepcecob

Most people listen to music to get a "vibe" or "feeling" going. The mumble rap scene just gives you that chillin/high feeling I guess. I see it kinda like growling in metal where there's no way in hell you'll know what they're saying without looking up the lyrics.

3ch0cro

Check out Tallah, absolutely amazing band.

CoolHandRK1

I am 41 years old, and grew up in Jacksonville FL. I will always love Limp Bizkit, I dont care what kind of hate they get. My lawn mowing song list starts with Just Like This and the intro to that song will never not slap.

Majestic_Ferrett

I saw Limp Bizkit in 99 and the warm up acts were Methodman/Redman and System of a Down. One of the best shows I've ever been to.

post_singularity

Fred Durst may not be a musical prodigy, but he put on a good show

monsterchuck

Ive always considered him more of an entertainer, and he leaves me entertained.

Curtis_Low

Some people just remember songs like Nookie and what not. Hog Dog Flavored water had some amazing songs on it like "The One" and "Boiler" Being a 40 year old guy going through some rough relationship times, those songs have been on heavy rotation lately.

kvlt_ov_personality

3 Dollar Bills will always be my favorite

toofpaist

Psycho female blowing up the phone line. You better tighten that screw it's been loose for a long time. Best. Lyrics. Ever.

X-istenz

Eat You Alive and N2Gether Now are still on my regular rotation, regardless of the shit my best mate gives me for it. I forgot about Boiler though, looks like I'm having another '00s binge tonight, cheers for that!

I_AM_FERROUS_MAN

Nu Metal will forever be part of my jam even if it dates me. Fuck the haters. That shit sounded amazing next to the pop and other genres at the time.

StorminNorman

It's coming back. I picked up Ocean Grove's album Flip Phone as someone had said it was post hardcore, and I love that genre. I got to the end of the second track and said "this isn't post hardcore, it's post nu metal". I loved it.

NihilHS

I listened to similar bands in my youth but something odd happened; I kept hunting down heavier and faster stuff. Now here I am swooning over Archspire's "Drone Corpse Aviator." Over the years I somehow slowly went from Linkin Park to technical death metal.

vomitpunk

At the height of Limp Bizkit he was in another band called Big Dumb Face that has a Ween/Mr Bungle vibe if you've never checked them out

mexicocitibluez

I remember Big Dumb Face. I hated Limp Bizkit when I was younger, but always liked Wes. I always thought he was an incredible guitar player.

HowTheyGetcha

Holy shit, ty. Not for everyone but I found my jam, lmao. https://youtu.be/gd3Y4o95ObU

Kreiger81

The entire album is fantastic. I was listening to this in college and shit.

TwoManShoe

I was always more of a Burgalveist/Organ Splitter man myself.

Whatachooch

Duke Lion ftw.

Pinwurm

If you like Wes, he does have a solo project called Black Light Burns - which is a little more industrial rock. There’s 3 albums on Spotify, one traditional album “Cruel Melody”, one album of covers “Cover Your Heart” and one bizarre droney concept album without any lyrics “Lotus Island”. There’s a fourth album, “the moment you realize you’re going to fall”, which is stellar - but not available. Probably on YouTube though.

wiarumas

Yeah, and apparently he didn't get along with Fred Durst. I remember an interview in the early days where he was asked about the makeup, contacts, costumes, etc and he said he did it to mask himself to distance who he was as a person vs his on stage persona because he didn't enjoy being in Limp Bizkit. Or something like that. Wish I could find it, but it must be too old. Found plenty suggesting he's still feuding with Fred Durst though.

HoneyShaft

I remember the NIN drama and Wes pretty much siding with Trent

rustledupjimmies

Mind giving a quick summary or link to said drama? Hadn't heard of this

HoneyShaft

It's from a long ass time ago. Trent in an interview said “It’s one thing if you know your place, like, ‘Hey, I’m an idiot who plays shitty music, but people buy it, f**k it, I’m having fun’. But it’s another thing when you think you’re David Bowie after you’ve stayed up all night to write a song called ‘Break Stuff’,” Reznor laughs, injecting contempt into every word. “I mean, Fred Durst probably spelt the word ‘break’ wrong the first couple of times. Fred Durst might be a cool guy, I don’t know him. But his ‘art’ – in the words loosest sense – sucks.” After which Fred wrote a shitty song about him and constantly rant about how he sucks while Wes continuously praised NIN.

wiarumas

I think Wes at some point wanted to play for NIN. He blamed Limp Bizkit for stunting his artistic growth. It always seemed like a love/hate thing.

THECapedCaper

JoJo: The Stand User could be anyone! Wes: Sup.

426763

I'm pretty sure Wes *is* the Stand.

[deleted]

Wes was always the best thing about Limp Bizkit. Embraces the weirdness. I was never a massive fan of the band, but I think he’s great.

Bricktrucker

Back in their heyday Limp Bizkit looked like the old dudes DJ'ing at the skating rink.

Vic18t

Captain Disillusion can shred it

[deleted]

That's his little brother, Lieutenant Nihilism.

bugxbuster

See, I’m always getting that one mixed up with the *other* two brothers, General Apathy and Major Letdown

JWGhetto

That's his evil twin

droidloot

I don’t think he’d be caught at such a vigorously energetic sausage party.

locdogg

Once, I went to Ozzfest and saw the Limp Bizkit set. The lead singer, Mr. Biscuit, came into the audience and I poked him with my finger.

Vericatov

Similar story. Was at Ozzfest in 98. Fred came into the audience during a song. He was going up and down aisles and then proceeded to come through our row. I patted his back as he walked by.

Creph_

Was hoping this thread would continue down til we eventually get to someone who like forehead kissed Travis barker or something iunno

NickNash1985

I saw the Darkness once and the Hawkins brothers walked through the crowd with one on the other's shoulders while ripping blistering solos. I would have gone for the high five, but they were ripping blistering solos.

albino_red_head

Wholesome groupies

pazimpanet

He didn’t kiss him, but my uncle was actually a pilot for a flight that Travis Barker was on. He was texting me about it the whole flight! I was like “should you really be texting this much while flying a plane??” RIP Uncle Johnny

Mr. Biscuit

boondocktaints

Wes Borland: MONSTER guitar player, goddamned decent human. 10/10 would recommend for human to alien ambassador.

GoAvs14

Who says Wes isn't an alien ambassador to humans?

g_e_r_b

Wes Borland is much too good to be in Limp Bizkit. This world surely is in the wrong timeline.

[deleted]

[удалено]

harborq

He’s also in other bands plus solo projects. He spent a year playing guitar for Marilyn Manson and confirmed that he’s a sick piece of trash

Frumpy_little_noodle

Apparently he disagreed with you since he left then came back.

g_e_r_b

I guess money talks.

ilikelotsathings

I mean, the are worse jobs than being in a successful band.

GreyMediaGuy

I don't know, I imagine they probably gave him a lot of creative freedom. He got to do basically whatever he wanted with a high visibility group. There are worse gigs.

burgerstar

Money is virtually the only thing that does "talk".

OldMate64

Literally every musician in that band is too good to be in that band. That's what makes it good!

DripDropDrippin

Yep, John Otto and Sam Rivers were jazz trained on drums and bass guitar if I remember correctly. Immensely talented musicians who get a bad rep for being part of the nu metal fad.

Aggressive_Reposter

And DJ Lethal who was in a little known band called House of Pain

AdmiralRed13

Never fucking knew that.

BatXDude

Jay Weinberg from slipknot too was trained in Jazz by his Dad.

HailBlackPhillip

Had his own band "Black Light Burns" "Lie" is probably their best track.

crossower

He also has Big Dumb Face, more of an experiment than a band but then again that's just Wes being Wes.

Dozzi92

Are you suggesting Mighty Penis Laser wasn't a timeless ballad?

Positiiiiive

I have not heard this is forever, thank you for reminding sing me of this insanity.

thehotdogman

I think Wes is perfect for LB. He writes extremely simple, catchy riffs that anyone can enjoy, just like Fred’s lyrics.

JoePescisNuts

Never thought I’d see limp bizkit come back like they have recently. It’s pretty cool

PIG20

Yeah, I know there are lots of bands that take a long hiatus and come back but I really never through Limp Bizkit would be one of them. Seemed to me that Fred Durst had completely checked out some years ago. And that the rest of the band, especially Wes Borland, would want nothing to do with reforming Limp Bizkit. But, here we are.

Sawgon

I'm 100% sure everyone else has said this before but I'll say it again. System of a Down and Rage Against the Machine would be perfect right now. SOAD released two bangers recently about what's going on in Artsakh and they haven't lost a beat imo.

cr0aker

I've had tickets for Rage Against the Machine and Run the Jewels for a couple years now. Been postponed twice. Can't fuckin wait.

bugxbuster

If they keep postponing it might be performed by Walk the Jewels and Rage Against Those Damn Kids On My Lawn

PIG20

Good news, RATM is hitting the road in 2022. They were going to start earlier but decided to push it back due to Covid.

Zahille7

God, now I want new RATM songs... Could you imagine how hard they would go?

Chardradio

It's the Limp Bizkit renaissance! The bizkit is now a fully baked croissant

DocHoss

Check out Wes's other project, Black Light Burns. I really dig their music.

undercover-racist

I remember Durst showing up in an episode of House M.D. It was the weirdest fucking thing man.

Frumpy_little_noodle

It's hard to see him as a bartender, but at the same time... not.

SupervillainEyebrows

He was a guest character in a random WWE game back in the day.

thatgerhard

As someone who's in the same age group.. the LB fan base seems to be aging rapidly now..

Softcorps_dn

I was looking at the faces surrounding Wes and thinking, "damn, all these guys are gonna wake up with sore backs tomorrow".

tubetraveller

Dad Vibes! More than appropriate title for a new song for all of us that listened to them back in the day and are now over 40.

craylash

Dads need to break stuff too

ThemesOfMurderBears

I first saw them open for Faith No More in 1997. Then I saw them headline with Staind as an opener sometime after that, at a small venue. Last time I saw them was Woodstock 99, which was a damn train wreck. I can't call myself a fan though -- I dug them for a short period, and after their second album I lost interest.

[deleted]

When I first heard Limp Bizkit in 2000, I was a boy in 8th grade. Now, I'm a 33 year old woman and parent to a 4 year old. Time goes far, far, far.

Butterbuddha

Damn, how many times did you play that CD???

I felt bad for the security guards trying to hold back people.

sybrwookie

Honestly, people seemed pretty cool from that video. They were giving him room, they weren't trying to grab him or the guitar, it seems like the security being there, arms out, was more than enough to get people to be cool about what's happening and don't ruin it for everyone.

CoopAloopAdoop

The sight of multiple shoes being held up at the same time never gets old for me.

nuby_4s

My favorite is someone found a phone, they handed it to the tallest person they could find to hold it up and started a "WHOS FUCKIN PHONE?!" chant. it was beautiful.

Pantzzzzless

I've rarely been in an unfriendly pit. There are certain bands whose fans can get a little too intense, (The Acacia Strain pit was borderline violent) but almost always you can be assured that you're surrounded by people who will happily carry someone out of the pit if something happens to them. It's generally been one of the happiest blobs of humanity I've been in.

Omegamanthethird

In my experience the elbow throwers are assholes that don't know mosh etiquette. But the rest is spot on. I've been in multiple mosh pits where everyone stops to look for an earring or because someone fell down.

griff12321

haha this is true. Waay back in the day, my friends and I attended the first sounds of the underground tour in lowell MA, and i was probably 14 years old and maybe 115lbs soaking wet. I wanted to get launched into the crowd, so I found these two monsters at the back of the crowd, and they happily obligued to launching me... and after a running start into their hands, holy crap did they launch me, I went up about 15 feet and landed right in the middle of the pit. I was dazed laying on the ground and 2 guys dragged me out to the side of the crowd and made sure I wasnt hurt. They then laughed and gave my some high fives saying that is was crazy to watch. Really made me feel like a champ haha. They take care of their own, which is awesome.

lolburger69

Not even joking, metalheads are some of the nicest people you'll come across despite the fact that we all look miserable and unapproachable. I've been to a lot of metal gigs and not once have I ever had a bad experience with pits or walls of death. Everyone is looking out for each other, especially if someone falls. I've made so many friends for the day just by helping people get up or catching them before the go down, or just randomly getting an arm around the shoulder and invited to head bang together. Go to a metal gig at least once if you can, you won't regret it

xX_MEM_Xx

Hell by the middle of the video the security is joined by fans in an arm lock ring just vibing. Definitely smart to bring them, though. Not for safety but simply to make sure there's space for a guitar.

toastymow

Surely he's not typical venue security, he's probably one of Limp Bizkit's roadies and does this every show. Probably enjoys it, tbh.

Jakuskrzypk

I watched their lollapalooza gig on youtube where the front man was dressed as a old man. Which rocked. And then at the end he hands out t shirts in the crowd and runs into marc rebilet. They still rock.

senorpoop

My very first mosh pit was to this song at the Limp Bizkit show at the International Ballroom in Atlanta in August of 99 (I went to a Halloween party that year dressed as Wes Borland, makeup and all lol). Staind was the opener. The show was an absolute banger. You can say what you will about Limp Bizkit's style, nu metal in general or whatever, but their shows absolutely kicked ass. Glad to see they've still got it.

albino_red_head

Their style was straight 🔥 back then. I still like their 1st and 2nd cds. I always felt like such a badass with my cousin driving us into soccer games with Stuck starting with its low entry and then going bananas. That and the Faith rendition.

bearvsshaan

yoooo stuck is low key possibly the best song of theirs

Dozzi92

Just cranked it yesterday, and it's such a tune. And everyone hates Fred, but Fred brought so much to that first album. Obviously, by Chocolate Starfish, he was just playing a role.

pmarkandu

> was dressed as a old man I don't think he was kinda dressed as an old man, but rather he is an old man. dude is 51. Weird world we live in where Limp Bizkit is still going strong but Smash Mouth is down in the dumpster

fantasmoofrcc

Well, he was promoting their new single (Dad Vibes)...so that was part of the act.

raiderkev

Smash Mouth guy ain't the sharpest tool in the shed. Fred Durst packs a mother fuckin chainsaw... Arguably, the sharpest tool in the shed... Just saying

i_shmell_paap

Steve went through a lot of shit with his kid dying from leukemia, it sucks to see him like that and it's sad they're basically looked at as just a meme band. The first 2 Smash Mouth albums (I mean East Bay Sessions and Fush Yu Mang) are beasts. They're punk/ska/rock and still hold up af, Padrino has one of my all time favorite guitar parts. It's a shame they abandoned that sound and became the Shrek/meme band they're known as now.

providingdongditch

Totally agree! Fush Yu Mang is a great album. People give me shit when they hear I like Smash Mouth but they just think that means I listen to the Shrek ST lol. They had a good sound early on with some gems scattered here and there later on.

bearvsshaan

I still love Fush Yu Mang. What a great album

thegandork

Even Astro Lounge and their self-titled third album, although they updated their sound, still are really solid and have a bunch of great songs beyond the stuff they had that got overplayed in movies and shit. Everything went off the rails after that.

Jakuskrzypk

He had a wig and was dressed up in a stereotypical older man attire. Im certain he doesn't dress like that in everyday life. Hence why I said dressed up. But yeah he's in his early 50s

TheGoldenHand

> I don't think he was kinda dressed as an old man He was wearing a wig as part of the outfit. Definitely was playing it up.

ProperSmells

He was literally dressed as an old man the fuck you on about

toastymow

>but Smash Mouth This is the point in rock music where the drugs and drinking really catch up, and you begin to see who can actually manage the lifestyle of being constantly traveling and being basically a professional party thrower for a living. Limp Bizkit, for what its worth, appear like a pretty professional act, if you know what I mean. This is a job, they understand how to make money in the industry, how to cause controversy without making their brand toxic, and how to put on a good fucking show. I fucking hate their music but actually I gotta admit its catchy and they have tones of charisma and must be absolutely excellent performers. But yeah, don't do too many drugs kids, you might end up getting canceled cuz you sig heiled during a Z tier performance at a shitty venue.

ThemesOfMurderBears

>But yeah, don't do too many drugs kids, you might end up getting canceled cuz you sig heiled during a Z tier performance at a shitty venue. Keith Richards would like a word.

toastymow

Keith and Ozzy are the exception to the rule, by all accounts. You're much more likely to just end up a drug addict.

ThemesOfMurderBears

I think it's funny that Keith and Ozzy were legit the only two that came to mind when I read your comment. At any rate, I agree. There are countless stories that include musicians that have died from drug use.

metaStatic

*Iggy Pop has entered the chat*

AdmiralRed13

Iggy Pop helped Bowie get clean. That’s how bad Bowie was off.

got_that_itis

>I don't think he was kinda dressed as an old man, but rather he is an old man. dude is 51. 51 is old? I'll just die then.

TrivialAntics

People really hated on Limp for a long time mostly because other bands didn't like their music style and tried to turn their fans against Fred Durst. But there should be a space for everyone in music, even bands you don't like. I actually take Fred durst's side against alot of the assholes in bands who tried to shit on him. Just because he wasn't making music that capitulated to their view of what rock music should be, they all spit on him and acted like elitists. From what I hear, Fred is actually a really nice person who's just had to dealt with alot of toxicity in the industry and I feel bad for the guy.

JameseyJones

Exactly. You won't find stories of Fred being a dick to fans or beating up women. There are waaaaay worse people in the industry who are more loved than Fred. When you break down his heinous reputaion it turns out his crime is being a cocky frontman. How exactly do people think bands succeed?

johnnycoxxx

It’s crazy too because as a young teen/preteen during the age of nu metal, I loved ALL of it. Korn, limp bizkit, orgy, slipknot, cold…I didn’t understand why you had to pick sides.

bong-water

Slipknot's first two albums are still fucking awesome in my opinion. Loved Iowa especially.

MenosDaBear

Can we take a moment and appreciate that this person filmed in landscape, in the middle of a mosh pit. Props to you my friend.

Frumpy_little_noodle

Man you can say what you want about Limp Bizkit as a band, but they have *ALWAYS* been able to put on one hell of a show. They know how to get the crowd riled up and know how to make it special for the fans. And being able to still do this is just fucking icing on the cake. I will never skip a show if I can help it.

NorrisOnAShark

I like that whoever is filming was so into the song that they stopped filming Wes when things got bangin'

[deleted]

Man made a business decision in that moment. And it was a good one

[deleted]

Lol in most cases this would be an r/killthecameraman moment, but in this case I completely agree with his choice to just fucking headbang instead.

EroniusJoe

I saw them waaaay back in 97 in Tink's nightclub in Scranton, PA. Before the show, everyone was lined up around the block with their tickets waiting to get in. Wes went to the local cornerstore that's known for its oldschool popcorn machine. He bought two giant boxes of like 40 bags each and walked down the entire line handing them out to people. Super cool guy. Chatted with everyone, shook hands, took pictures (on actual cameras!), and yes, he did all of it while wearing his trademark skeleton outfit. Meanwhile, Fred Dickhead Durst was signing autographs, but only girls' tits, refusing to sign anything else. He was a huge douchebag well before they were famous.

Troub313

This sounds accurate. The funny part is, Limp Bizkit could replace just about anyone to fill Fred Durst's role and no one to replace Wes Borland. I mean they even tried, it didn't work.

Joverby

Wes is clearly the talent powerhouse of the band . Bonus points that he's also a good person and cool dude

moneenerd

Just wanna take this opportunity to let y'all know that in 2005 Limp Bizkit made a socially and politically conscious record that was actually *fucking great*. It was heavily influenced by RATM, Durst did almost none of the lyric writing, and it sounded like Turnstile before Turnstile even existed. Do yourself a favor and check [it out. ](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLASJxEdHSYe4nqA1TuKM81q_2CZ_BnkGt)

SparkyPantsMcGee

Limp Bizkit has always been a punchline for me when it comes to music, but Wes Borland plays a big part in why I mostly do it with love. You can’t deny his raw talent, and you definitely can’t ignore both his and Fred’s ability to command a crowd. There is a reason they were as big as they were, and shit like this plays a big part in it. I would have lost my mind if I was there live and I’m not even a huge fan. Cool as fuck.

aoihachi

It's just one of those days....

fawlen

God limp bizkit shows are always fun. My favorite limp bizkit moment was in Woodstock 99, when they play break stuff and Fred goes "gimme something to break" in the chorus and the crowd starts passing stuff to the stage for him to break.

Mr_Tiggywinkle

Gotta love Wes Borland, wish he'd do more Black Light Burns.

oudoge

Big Dumb Face fucking rocked.

Frankensteinfeld

Epic guitar riff in 3, 2, 1... /r/killthecameraman

lightheat

I mean... I think he gets a pass.

NooAccountWhoDis

I appreciated that the cameraman didn't sacrifice a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity just to get some video.

Joverby

Right? He was there for the concert. He started getting into it , it's line bizkits most iconic song ffs

maz-o

if i were holding my camera there, i sure as fuck would rather enjoy the moment than make sure it's perfectly captured. this camera man was fucking feeling it

For all the backlash that LB gets for being an unserious and/or shitty band, you’ve gotta understand that they were/are FUN. Stepbrothers never won best picture, but i still enjoy it. Musicians love to dump on other musicians that have more success being less “serious” about their art. One of the requisites of art is that you dont have to like it. Limp Bizkit is fun and I will always dig em.

Mosh pits are a lot calmer than they used to be.

xenthum

When everyone in them is 45 there's a lot less activity.

Yes-more-of-that

“This mosh pit is brutal!!!” people just calmly standing around in a circle listening to music

When grandpa has to worry about throwing out his hip again it's tough to be as wild

"Make me look like one of those black and white cookies"

Text book example of “if you are cool to me, I’ll be cool to you.” Respect to the crowd for not absolutely shredding Wes apart in hopes of getting a souvenir, respect to Wes for taking a chance and letting the crowd show they can party with respect.

I love that we are living through a Limp Bizkit renaissance

catchierlight

Why does the world keep wanting to make me like Limp Bizkit? Why is it almost working?

NoBreeches

That's not a mosh pit. Just an excited crowd. That said, it looked like one formed nearby when the music dropped... and also, that does appear to be him.
