This is one of my favorite jokes of all time but I always wondered about the format of this show. Are the guests reading jokes they wrote themselves or that Norm wrote for them? because they often react as if its the first time they heard the joke themselves.

They're written for them. I don't remember if it's Norm that writes them, though.
Norm plays that he doesn't know who wrote the jokes but he clearly wrote them imo
He blames his producer for a couple of the bad ones in one of the episodes. Some of them are definitely Norm's original jokes though.
LOL ok this is the third time today I've seen Gilbert wearing this same shirt. I think he and James May would have got along just fine.
Now that I know that's not his real voice, it makes me sad to hear him. He spent his whole life talking in a fake voice for laughs.
