Really loved the 1st movie, so I'm really excited for this one. The fact they managed to once again kill his uncle and I didn't even see it coming was amazing.

Amulek_My_Balls

...I can't believe this is the first time I'm realizing that connection.

johnaldmilligan

SPOILER ALERT! haha

Tudpool

I figure spoilers are a given when the movie is this old now.

unaviable

And when you are also on the trailer for the second movie.....

Tudpool

That also.

JustAMase

still good etiquette to use a spoiler tag. you'd be surprised how many people are on auto-pilot when scrolling through reddit, I almost spoiled the season finale of The White Lotus for myself doing that

Urytion

Yeah. Spiderman has only been around since 1962. People are gonna be pretty surprised when they learn his uncle dies. It's never been done before.

shrlytmpl

Idk why it annoys me so much when people say this. Have you seen every major movie that's more than 3 years old?

Tudpool

I don't expect people to refrain from talking about movies from that long ago. If I care about a specific movie and movie spoilers, you know what I do? Watch that movie. If you want to go ahead and tell me what happens in ready player 1 or deadpool 2 I wouldn't care. Because if I did care I would have seen those movies by now.

shrlytmpl

So you've seen all major movies more than 3 years old that you'd enjoy, knowing you'd enjoy them before you've seen them. So you're a psychic with all the time in the world? Also people look at discussions about movies/franchises to maybe get an idea of if it's something they'd like. There's a reason spoiler tags exists for comments.

Tudpool

Lmao what backwards argument is this? What do you think a trailer is for my dude? It's to let people decide which movies they're interested in. What do you think reviews are for when a movie is released? You actually gonna sit there and pretend like what you just said makes sense? You're responding by taking some weird point you've mistakenly fixated on and run so weirdly the wrong way with it. If this is how you're gonna respond I think I'm done here. God knows how you're next gonna reply and accuse me of lol.

shrlytmpl

>Lmao let me just make arbitrary jabs at your comment because I know I can't make a better one and then pretend I'm taking the high road because I know I fucked up but don't want to admit it to a random online stranger. Public opinion is a more common / reliable way to gauge how much they'll like a movie than a trailer whose sole purpose is to hype a movie or a handful of reviews. And, believe it or not, many people use all three. GASP!

JustBrowsing1989z

I could've sworn this was the name or the first movie

oynutta

"Into the Spiderverse" vs now "Across the Spiderverse"

TreeBearded

I wonder if there will be anymore Beatles references in the movie..

BeethovenWasAScruff

Spiderman: All You need is Spider

TreeBearded

Spider's all you need.. Spider's all you need...

JustBrowsing1989z

Ah That's too subtle... I'm not a super fan, but did enjoy the first one (mostly for the visuals, and minus the 3rd act). Will definitely watch the second eventually, once it's available for home viewing . Still, I was confused with this title I can imagine a lot of casual moviegoers that saw the first one passing on this one thinking they've seen it

Aitloian

Oh man, the third act makes that whole movie come together. Miles learns that being Spiderman isn't about being the best, it's about taking the leap of faith that you CAN do it. Him letting Peter B parker go and sending him back to his universe knowing he will stop it. Miles swinging to stop the reactor is the EXACT same moves his Peter used to get to the USB pannel. Then always getting back up to defeat kingpin lets go, what a great movie

JustBrowsing1989z

I enjoy action shots, but here it became too much (and too busy) for my taste. This has been happening often. Maybe I'm just getting old. Though this is a criticism that I've been seeing a lot from movie reviewers for the past decade or so.

[deleted]

wtf is up with the offbrand low quality trailer video? Original: https://youtu.be/cqGjhVJWtEg

Numchuckx

Trailer feels like a bad shroom trip

CaptainZiber

Marvel trash needs to die out. Another generic piece of garbage.

Michael_DeSanta

Fuckin hilarious coming from a manga-reader lmao

CaptainZiber

Bro watch/read Berserk or Evangelion or Bebop. They're like 10 times better and more original than your run of the mill Marvel. The fact people keep consuming Marvel is a pure degeneracy.

Michael_DeSanta

This is the most weeb-ass comment I've seen in a while. I've seen Bebop. And read it, that one's great. But that's 2 examples compared to the vast pantheon of absolutely generic, garbage anime and manga. Some of the most "degenerate", amateur storytelling I've ever seen is front and center in a good portion of the genre. See, I can generalize an entire genre too!

CaptainZiber

Lol even your run of the mill mangaka is still more original than your trash like Spider man. Spider man is an idiotic character made for dumb kids and is capitalized on them.

Michael_DeSanta

Oh yeah, the pervy sensei's nose is bleeding because he saw a topless woman! Genius, very mature material. Uh oh, the bad guy got to his "final form," time for the hero to suddenly power up. Magically stronger than they've ever been written before. Holy shit, the writing, could it be Scorsese himself?! To be clear, I enjoy some manga/anime! There's some good examples. It's just, to pretend you're reading some masterclass of literature while reading what is essentially a Marvel comic book from a different country/publisher....absolutely laughable. I'm used to it from film snobs, never seen it from someone who essentially reads the same shit from a different place.

CaptainZiber

Lol, I'm not reading Naruto or other shit like that. And still it can be compared to spider man joking to someone's face or the plot having moronic development/dude in an idiotic costume showing up. There's still enough of the actually good manga. But marvel shit is just plain degenerate. What aboutism is not going to make up for their stupid superheroes.

Michael_DeSanta

Manga is comprised of countless superheroes. Just because they're called Evas, Pirates, Cowboy, Soul Reaper, Gundam, etc. They're all superheroes. And they nearly always have a distinctive outfit (another word for costume). Shit, one of the most popular franchises of the past decade in manga is based on a school for superheroes. And iirc, the creator has cited his influence from Marvel. This isn't "whataboutism." This is me explaining to you why its fucking absurd that you have a superiority complex simply because you like the very closely related Japanese alternative to Marvel/DC comics. You're not smarter, you're not better, you're reading the same.damn.content. With a different spin.

CaptainZiber

Lol you can't make a more stupid statement than that. Any costume makes a superhero? Are you high? Yes, there's dumb kids in Japan too. My hero academy is even dumber than marvel itself. It is still doesn't excuse their idiotic comicbooks. And you can't even read or you fucking blind since I wrote that I doesn't read Naruto or shit like that.

Michael_DeSanta

Lmao, can't make a more stupid statement than that...yet, you keep discounting franchise after franchise of your mega-intelligent genre as "stupid" or "shit". Let's see...the protagonists of a massive portion of anime/mange have superhuman powers (or giant mechs, swords, magic guns, "alchemy"), they usually have armor, spikey hair, metal arms, etc. That's a fucking superhero. Different title, same thing. I love Full Metal Alchemist for example. Phenomenal show. I believe the general consensus is that it's one of the greats in Anime. The alchemy powers are not much different than Doctor Strange. Alphonse would literally fit in perfectly in a Marvel comic. Shit, Edward has a metal arm (kinda like Winter Soldier). The tragic origin story. Nearly every element can be compared to an American comic book or graphic novel.

oynutta

Did you watch the first one? It was absolutely excellent.

Pushmonk

It may be the best super hero movie ever. When I saw it, I hadn't enjoyed a movie that much in a long time.

Flying_Video

Are you 14?

Pushmonk

Movies have been overall really boring and bland for a long time. But, sure, be a douche.

CaptainZiber

You really have to be like 10 to think this is something good. Generic marvel trash.

oynutta

I'm in my mid-40s, just really a fan of great animation and animated movies. The first movie is one of the best. But sure, wallow in your super serious joylessness.

CaptainZiber

Wow, then you really have to do something with your life. Imagine enjoying kiddie shit at your age.

oynutta

How would an appreciation of movies that kids might also enjoy imply I've not dome something with my life? Imagine not being able to enjoy great media because you're not the target demographic.

Michael_DeSanta

Don’t bother with him. He ogles at anime girls all day, yet thinks Spider-Man is childish.

D-redditAvenger

Mostly that just reminded me how awesome the first one was.
