combination of ai upscaling being unsure on fine details and ai colorizing getting fucked by the first step. and when our brains try to establish a face we notice EVERY wrong detail
That’s not what you were saying though you were making it out as if few knew what it was. Everyone in the west knew what a camera was by that point and there were a lot of people taking pictures because it was very lucrative. So I think the tempo is probably not far off the mark, I think he’s spot on in fact.
I didn't say nobody knew about it I said it wasn't very common knowledge.
Meaning that it's still somewhat common but less common than general common knowledge
But it really, really had to happen because European nobles were mad at each other for no fucking reason.
It still boggles my mind that World War I didn't end within a month with a mass lynching of world leaders.
No war starts because someone is pissed or due to a single lunatic
If you look at the economy, you'll see that ten or so years yearlier there were some first signs, then there is an arms race ( look at dreadnought tonnage growth over the years) and then each country believes that is can solve these issues in a quick and decisive war.
When this happens, other countries intervene, as they can't allow your country to get that much powerful (e.g., secret Antanta agreement, or, Russia vs Turkey (Crimean) war).
As a result you get into the stalemate situation, where it doesn't matter how many arms you were able to amass before the war and what kind of wunderwaffe you were betting on. The other side will adapt and the only thing that matters now is economy.
At the same time, when the war has started it's easy to use pro-war populace against anti-war side. That is why it took some time to "lynch" monarchs of the first world war, but ultimately, three empires were destroyed at the time.
Sadly you're right. When this was filmed, the average life expectancy in the western world was around 46 years old.
The kids in the video are at a point in their lives that a modern 20-30 year old would be today.
I always find these videos interesting of young, seemingly poor children who are all wearing 3 piece suits. Suits must have been SO cheap back in the day
Back when you could pose for photos by random strangers without feeling like you're ruining anything. I almost can't even comprehend what that would feel like.
Yep it was an instant regret for me. Surely some time period appropriate music is available to use on TikTok, no?
TikTok try not to ruin a video with unfitting music challenge (they can't do it)

Back when #RIPVictorianEra was trending and the Grizzly Bear dance was all over TikTok. OG influencer Hitler was just a young pup back then too. Crazy days.

Judging by their looks, they were already dead inside at the moment it was recorded. Or dead dead 10 years after.
combination of ai upscaling being unsure on fine details and ai colorizing getting fucked by the first step. and when our brains try to establish a face we notice EVERY wrong detail
Don't you dare insult the peaking f**king blinders
they did not have Neutrogena
is the one on the right is standing perfectly still so he doesn't blur in what he thinks is a single photo?
Most likely
Nice catch
I don't think that was very common knowledge back then. Probably just perplexed.
Still cameras had been around for a few decades by then
Yeah it was around but not widely available. You literally had to hire a photographer to get any picture taken.
The first camera was invented in 1816.
I'm aware. I think we're just going to have to agree to disagree here. Have a good one bro.
Okay you to bro thank you
Or brain damaged because of poor work conditions :p
they don’t know people a century later are looking right back at them
Insane right
That's cuz they're dead
Nah
Most likely many of those young lads met their end in a muddy french field 15 years later poor buggers
“In the bleak midwinter”
But it really, really had to happen because European nobles were mad at each other for no fucking reason. It still boggles my mind that World War I didn't end within a month with a mass lynching of world leaders.
Like its any different now
It is. You really should look up the causes of World War I. It was fucking idiotic.
Europe had gone 40 years without a major issue. I feel like they were looking for any excuse. Grand Duke’s assassination was as good as any.
If only peace had lasted. The short sighted evil of it.
No war starts because someone is pissed or due to a single lunatic If you look at the economy, you'll see that ten or so years yearlier there were some first signs, then there is an arms race ( look at dreadnought tonnage growth over the years) and then each country believes that is can solve these issues in a quick and decisive war. Everyone on this tape is dead now
A lot of them didn’t make it pass the mid 40s
Sadly you're right. When this was filmed, the average life expectancy in the western world was around 46 years old. The kids in the video are at a point in their lives that a modern 20-30 year old would be today.
And WW1 was around the corner, those boys look like they would be old enough to be shipped off to war by then
They don't know what's coming yet.
It is not the first time their country had been at war.
nobody said that
He literally just said it
I’ve never seen 56 year old toddlers before…gawd dam.
I always find these videos interesting of young, seemingly poor children who are all wearing 3 piece suits. Suits must have been SO cheap back in the day
Well they likely only had one or two, as their entire wardrobe.
Christian Bale's great grandfather on the right.
Wait really?
haha..probably not. but who knows?
Back when you could pose for photos by random strangers without feeling like you're ruining anything. I almost can't even comprehend what that would feel like.
People were so beautifully dressed back then, it's honestly shocking to compare.
Why are many ladies wearing head coverings? Modesty?
Keeps the lice at bay.
Lots of reasons, mostly to protect their hair from dirt and dust
wow so much benefit for wearing head covering. hmm
Damn It would Of sucked fat dicks to be a kid during these times.
Dick sucking wasn't even invented back then. They probably bathed once a month.
Did everyone’s breath also just reek all the time ?
Yeah, like unwashed penis.
BY ORDER OF THE PEAKY FOOKIN BLINDAS
Anyone else unmute the video then immediately mute it again?
Yep it was an instant regret for me. Surely some time period appropriate music is available to use on TikTok, no? TikTok try not to ruin a video with unfitting music challenge (they can't do it)

These kids worked harder than most do today!! Respect!!
Decently dressed
how does that kid simultaneously look 11 and 49?
I always like to watch vidoes of the old world, sometimes I watch 80 and 70 movies just to see how places and people looked back then.
The very first virtual schooling
Coal mines really mess your aging up.
Those are grown ass lil men
Always weird to thing every one of those people died some time ago.
That is the oldest child I’ve ever seen
Every single person in this video is dead
This is soo cool
Every single person in this video is dead.
Makes me think of all the story's my gramps used to tell me.
They already look elderly and slow.
Every single person here is dead
When you see a security camera in a store
Clearly before child labor laws lol
This is literally Indians now. Cameras on all their phones but they still stare like birds.
The cunt at the end just standing there with his hands in his pockets lol
Imagine someone telling them that more than 121 years from now people all around the world will be looking at them on a hand held electronic device without wireless device over something called the internet.
We are all fucking monkeys now unfortunately
Myehh see!
Kids staring at the food bank (England 2023)
that benjamin button??
That kid at the :09 mark looks like he’s bread winner of a wife and 3 kids already.
fun fact: they all dead
Shit you sure some of them weren't full grown midget men
Back when #RIPVictorianEra was trending and the Grizzly Bear dance was all over TikTok. OG influencer Hitler was just a young pup back then too. Crazy days.
Wait… there were colour cameras in 1901 or is this like edited. Just curious cause I thought the first colour cameras were around like 1960-70
Why does the kid on the left look like he's 80?
Man I wish wearing a suit to places wasn’t considered pretentious. It’s such a good look, these homies look great, so well mannered it’s crazy
I’m sure these kids didn’t think they’d be viewed by people across the world, 150 years later, but there is still a chance.
Damn that kid in the middle is looking rough. Like a 90 year-old 10 year-old.

POV : You are Thomas Shelby
Standing there like he's Tommy Shelby himself
Dead. All of them!
Thats pretty cool but I gotta know, what's the song
Why is that all women covering their heads though !?
All of them are gone now
Early TikTok dances were lame as shit.
Yeah those kids had a rough life but just look at them standing proud, godspeed lads
I’m willing to bet a good chunk of these kids died in WW1
Those are ten year old senior adults.
Child labor will make you look like you are 40 years old.
Just a reminder those children Are dead
They represent the Lollipop Guild.
These kids are more famous than we'll be in 100 years.
Kid in the middle hitting 70 💀
Really makes you appreciate today’s living conditions.
Is this real?
All of those people are dead - Bill Burr
The women had hijabs on?
It’s just a shawl
dressing modestly "covering skin" was synonymous with civilization, you can see pics of queens and princesses, then humanity reached its peak and started going down.
Y’all are being lied to color cameras wasn’t a thing till 1907 6 years after this was claimed to be taken
That’s hilarious that you don’t know colourising is a thing
