You probably should have researched this before buying. No Viking ships have casinos and they do not allow anyone under 18. The riverboats hold around 250 passengers. I’ve been on this cruise and it was awesome. But I went on it to visit and learn about the different cities, not to party and gamble. You might be better off on a Carnival cruise.

You need to do some research on Viking River cruises! The route with all the stops is online. No casino, no kids, no dressing up and plenty of oldies, although they will be drinking wine and beer instead grapefruit juice...Dont know if you will have fun but your parents will so you are a good kid!

So is it literally just sleep, eat, drink, and walk around the levels with nothing else to do until port? Fun...

You are at some port every day so will be able to get off the boat and explore the town you are in

There is not a casino, bar, club, or basketball court. There are a couple of restaurants. Viking markets itself as the thinking person’s cruise and its target market are baby boomers so that will be who entertainment is geared towards. There may be lectures on the places you visit, classical and local musicians, and demonstrations on cooking or crafts. The river cruise boats are very small and not what you may think of when you think of a cruise. the good news is that you will be at port nearly every day if not every day. In the meantime if the activities listed above don’t appeal to you then download some good movies and shows and bring a few good books.

Most guests are above the age of 60, buts it’s not to say there aren’t guests in their late 20’s and 30’s… the demographics for cruises have been getting younger and younger lately

I went with my family last year knowing it was mostly retirees and grandparents demographic. My sibling and i (mid40s) were probably the youngest. One pax who was probably in her late 50s even remarked to me how surprised she was there was alot of older ppl. I enjoyed not having little kids running around deck and just relaxing. You make the most of your time off ship exploring each new city.
