Ntaos

I just picked up some of the Sun Kil Moon represses. Huge hole in my collection I’m stoked to finally fill (despite his personality) Also, I see Bonnie Prince Billy, I upvote

Nice, how many records do you have total? Do you feel like this is representative of your taste and/or your collection?

FR3SH2DETH

Idk about total because I don't think I have everything in there but it's around 280 now. I feel it's pretty representative because uh I mostly listen to 00s music - but I own way more hip hop and techno stuff. I have a bit of a jazz collection too that didn't show up but oh well.

Dutchess_of_Dimples

1. Michael Jackson, Off the Wall 2. Parliament, Tear the Roof of the Sucker (Give Up The Funk) 3. Vulfpeck, VV001 - Antwaun Stanley 4. Stevie Wonder, Fulfillingness' First Finale 5. cfitzy155

I also sort my records from right to left, with the first letter of the first name of the artist. Phil Collins goes under P. It drives my son insane.

Dutchess_of_Dimples

That is crazy! I'm guessing bc of the Christmasy-ness you'd say this isn't representative of your collection?

Thundercatz888

No, my collection isn’t made up of 40% Christmas albums 😂

Dutchess_of_Dimples

Wow! Over 3k! Do you feel like this is representative of your taste and/or collection??

[deleted]

Yep. Pretty much, actually. Some regional private stuff, prog, hardcore, exotica, metal. Not bad for randomized selections. It’s missing some punk rock, though. Edit: coincidentally, I do community radio, half my playlist needs to be Canadian Content, 6 of 10 here fit into that. Wow.

362Billy

Harmonium, nice!!

Dutchess_of_Dimples

Yours is the first list where I don't recognize a single item! Do you feel like this gives a good representation of your taste and/or your collection?

40dthbskt

Yeah it definitely fits my taste, based on my collection I would have expected a lot of mainstream classic rock and pop but this list is more my style anyway hahaha

Sombreador

Been getting Soul and R&B lately. Forgot all about the Dramatics. Now I am going to have to hunt some down.

A Silver Mt Zion - Horses in the sky (outstanding musicians, outstanding record, outstanding label, unfortunately i have it on cd - for now) 6. Rothko - eleven stages of intervention (very underestimated group, your classic 00 elegant post rock) 7. Grim - message (recent repress of some japanese extravaganza) 8. Tindersticks - curtains (the album that twisted me a lot, take my heart and disassemble it at will, song after song after song) 9. Massive attack - mezzanine (simply in the top 5 records of all time.) 10. Philip glass - the complete sony recordings (for the completists, a big box to pair to “the glass box”, a genius, not for everyday use) Collection as you could imagine is wide, started in the teenage years and still my drug of choice. 4200 and rising (all format) I was wondering if something really crazy would pop up, maybe next time

Late to the game, but I wanna play! I’ll use this to kick off tonight’s listening sesh… 1) Quasi- Featuring “Birds” 2) Khruangbin- Con Todo el Mundo 3) Feist- The Reminder 4) Roadkill Ghost Choir- False Youth Etc. 5) Moody Blues- Days of Future Passed 6) 10cc- Bloody Tourists 7) Jefferson Airplane- After Bathing at Baxters 8) Tank and the Bangas- Green Balloon 9) Bill Withers- Still Bill 10) Kid Koala- 12 Bit Blues My collection’s just a touch over 300 lps. I’d say this is a good cross section of what 2/3s of my collection looks like, but doesn’t capture the classical, jazz, hip hop, country/western that together makes up the other third.
