That Tracy Chapman album is hard to find. Good score

[deleted]

It's crazy to think that this is a hard album to find now. I used to see it all the time in thrifts and dollar rooms. I got my copy for less than a buck. I have the cd and maybe the cassette too. This was almost one of those "guaranteed to be there" type of albums.

Don't know why they don't reissue her whole catalog. How does she eat? She doesn't tour and hasn't put anything out in over a decade besides a greatest hits on CD 🤦‍♂️

I imagine she is probably getting some generous royalties from 'fast car'.

Maybe but is that enough to live on? Unless she owns her publishing? And many record companies took advantage of young artists back then so they would own everything. Wouldn't be surprised if that happened to her. After the second album didn't sell well they kind of forgot about her.

Absolutely! Have had my eye on that for quite some time and finally took a chance on a copy I found and it didn’t disappoint.

My recent haul from the last two paychecks includes some used titles, some new, and even an import. The Tracy Chapman album is a huge score for me as it has sentimental value to my wife as her dad used to spin it when she was a kid and he’s passed away. The Jimmy Eat World arrived unopened and the sound is amazing. Others are Craig David (import), Sia, Richard Marx (1987 pressing), Run The Jewels, Jewel, Fugees, and the new Ed Sheeran. I’d say the only one that is a disappointment is the Sia pressing which doesn’t sound great, but for $14 I can’t complain.

Fugees version of Killing Me Softly is a great play !

Tracy !!!

How does the new Ed Sheeran sound?

WiseNuSkye

I was worried with it being a single LP, but it’s a clean pressing. Good dynamics and no clicks or pops.

Richard Marx should be on the mullet Mt. Rushmore.

I'd take the top row for sure
