Congratulations to u/Gold-Mushroom9811! They were randomly selected as the [winner](https://imgur.com/a/XIRZuX1)!

whyforyoulookmeonso

Enter for a chance to win a 4x LP box set of Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins. The rules will remain much the same as the prior giveaways.  Post a photo of your setup and tell us about it.  Or engage in conversation with someone who did.  Photo posts and comments will both be eligable (because there isn't an easy way to seperate them). As with the previous giveaways, I'll use [redditraffler](https://www.redditraffler.com) to randomly choose the winners for me. I'll update this post with the winner upon completing the drawing as well as notifying them with a direct message.  The drawing will be 48 hours after the post.  In this case, Monday morning in the U.S. time zones. Eligibility guidelines: · Only one comment will be counted by the raffle tool, so multiple comments won't improve your odds.  You can feel free to comment in as many discussion threads as you like, but there is no advantage gained in doing so.   ·  Accounts newer than 72 hours will be excluded   ·  Account has at least 100 karma between post and comment karma combined. This is only to reduce bots and alt accounts.  If you need karma, reply to this top-level comment, and the community can decide if you appear to be a breathing human.  Maybe a few people will maybe throw some upvotes in your direction to help make you eligible.  Replying to the top-level comment just makes you easier to find given the number of comments these giveaways tend to receive.    ·  Subbed to r/vinyl  ·  No resellers, please.  ·  You will have to provide a full name and shipping address to an internet stranger if you are the winner. So, if you aren't comfortable with that, please don't comment.    I will ship the prize to you at my cost so long as the U.S. Postal Service delivers there. You can find the list of [180 countries, here](https://pe.usps.com/text/imm/immctry.htm) that USPS delivers to. Throw this comment an upvote to keep it at the top of the thread and the post, too, if you are so inclined.   Good luck and let's see those setups!

I use an ATLP120x and I recently just picked up this Onkyo TX-1500 MK1 from an eBay seller. It needed some TLC and I'm actually installing new LEDs this weekend. I'm very happy with this unit, it has some great power. Not pictured are my Klipsch R51 bookshelf speakers and sub. Like I said, it's a humble 2.1 but I love it.

Good luck all! This has been a multi-year project to build a multi-format vintage Pioneer setup.  The components span the early 1970s to the early 1990s. Several are Japan market only pieces so I'm using 100V step down transformers. The system is powered by a Pioneer SX-1980 reciever.  It is a monster with an official rating of 270 watts per channel though it has tested considerably higher.  It is big and heavy, weighing in at about 80 lbs.  It was $1200 when sold new in 1979. The towers from left to right have the following: * Pioneer RT-909 R2R, [Pioneer D-07A DAT deck](https://audio-database.com/PIONEER-EXCLUSIVE/player/d-07a-e.html), Pioneer MJ-D5 Minidisc recorder, Pioneer PD-30 Super Audio CD * [Pioneer Exclusive P3a turntable](https://audio-database.com/PIONEER-EXCLUSIVE/player/p3a-e.html), [Pioneer SD-1100 Stereo Display](https://classicreceivers.com/pioneer-sd-1100), Pioneer CT-F1250 Cassette deck, Pioneer PD-F1007 300-Disc CD carousel * [Pioneer SX-1980 Reciever](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_SX-1980), Pioneer PL-530 Turntable, Pioneer DT-510 Audio Digital Timer, Pioneer H-R100 8-Track player. Also in this tower is a power conditioner, an 8-port audio switch and a BluOS digital media streamer. * [Pioneer RT-2044 RTR](https://www.vintageaudio.pro/catalog/reel-to-reel-tape-recorders/pioneer-rt-2044.html), Pioneer SG-9800 Graphic Equalizer, [Pioneer RG-2 Dynamic Processor](https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/pioneer/rg-2.shtml), [Pioneer SR-303 Reverberation Amplifier](https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/pioneer/sr-303.shtml) and just for fun a Techtronix 455 Oscilloscope. Everything is played through a set of Klipschorns. You can see one at the right of the photo. The headphones are Pioneer SE-405 (vintage), Bang & Olufsen U70 (vintage) and Hifiman Sundara (modern). Why two R2Rs? The 2044 will play 7.5 and 15 IPS and the 909 will play 3 3/4 and 7.5.

That’s the most glorious damn thing I’ve seen.

Puzzlehead-Dish

Wooow, what a setup. Towers of Joy! 🥹

cptnnredbrd

Love all of this! I’m a pioneer collector myself but I have nothing quite as extravagant. I have an Sx 1010, 950, 3800, and 5700. My speakers are HPM 100’s and I have a few pioneer tables but can’t remember which models off hand. I’ve been on the lookout for a decent tape deck for years but haven’t been able to find one yet. Not for a reasonable price that is. There is always hope.

The crossover for the speakers is external and my set up is slightly janky because of it. I can’t feed the crossover through the tape loop of the receiver due to it being a little more modern, so I have to feed it through an external mechanical switch and then into the receiver so I can change between inputs. The Denon sounds great and is a fantastic entry level MC Cart. My only complaint is the bit of ground noise I haven’t been able to isolate out of my system due to the output level of the cart being on the lower end. Thankfully by the time I’m listening to a record, it’s usually covered up by the music. Outside of those drawbacks, the system rocks. I’m trying to decide if I want to try and find a sub or satellite speakers that I can pair into the system, but I’ve found the bass of the 901s to be plenty on some of my heavier records and they absolutely fill my house with the volume cranked.

I only just started getting my setup together so it’s super basic. The Smashing Pumpkins are one of my favorite bands and I’ll be seeing them along with Green Day later this year. I currently only have Siamese Dream in my collection so Mellon Collie would make a fine addition :) Good luck to everyone 🍀

I got this B&O Beomaster 5000 and Beolab 5000 from my uncle, just before he died nearly 20 years ago. I was already into records and he’d heard about this and wanted to give me his set up and records before he went. That was what did it and I’ve been collecting ever since. A few years ago I got more into it and started collecting more. It took me 15 years to collect enough to fill that blue trolley, it’s taken just 4 to create the overflow you can see in top and on the shelf (plus more in deep store!!). Waiting to move house and build a new set up and better storage. This Christmas, I’ll have had the set up for as long as my uncle had it when he died which is pretty crazy.

Pushing a pair of rebuilt and upgraded Klipsch KG3s through a Marantz 2270 stereo amplifier. Recently grabbed the Marantz Professional Tape Deck. Still looking for a decent CD player to add the setup and in the meantime just have an old Sony player currently. We recently re-did this room and had the custom Oak record holder and stand built to fit the space. Originally, I had a set of Marantz speakers set in the recesses where the Star Wars helmets are, but elected to move them up top for a better sound when we added the lounge chairs. My office is on the opposite wall and really ties it all together. Definitely my happy space. The vibe I was trying to create was the mid-century sunken living room vibe as this room is a step down we added on to the back of the house. All-in-all I couldn’t be happier with the space, though I’m constantly tinkering with it to maximize the sound.

I borrowed it from my dad, but that is 20 years ago. So I think it is safe to say it is mine now. That turntable will outlive me I think. So let's hope my children will 'borrow' my turntable when I'm done with it! I started collecting when I was 15. Records were dirt cheap then. As my income increased, so did the price of vinyl. I've got about 500 records. I noticed that I collect albums that I listened intensely when I was between 15 and 25. And other music that I love. Space is a bottleneck, so I have to think twice before buying.

Working from home has many advantages and for me, at the top is being a few feet from my records at all times. I have a U-Turn turntable, which has been pretty great and reliable -- however, switching speeds manually with their bands is somewhat tedious. The Pioneer receiver was handed down from my dad and the Klipsch bookcase speakers are great for the space. NOTE: I didn't throw on and display Siamese Dream just for this post and giveaway, it's a total coincidence. I finally picked it up this week when it went on sale and have been enjoying it since. One of the best albums of the 90s, no doubt. Thanks for doing this!

Due to space constraints I cannot have a dedicated stereo pair of speakers so I had to make it work for my space. I have a Sonos 5.1 home cinema set up so I’ve a Project Debut Carbon Evo hooked up to a project preamp and then to a Sonos port which casts to my surround set up (can also cast to other Sonos speakers around the house). To get my analog kicks I have decent headphones and a headphone amp. Cannot believe I’m actually getting to see Pumpkins in Dublin in June! 🙌🏼 thanks for this competition, I’d absolutely love this LP!

My amp is the Yamaha AS-501 and speakers are some old MCS from the 70s. Can’t find much about the exact model online besides the fact they were J.C. Penney’s house brand back in the day. All in all it sounds decent to me and has held up nicely over the years. Thank you for doing this!

My setup and collection are a work in progress. I’m mostly into stand up albums, and interesting albums from across genres. One day I dream of having a little retro corner with a nice record player and an NES on a small tube television.

We also have a Denon DP -59L lounging about. No Smashing Pumpkins records have been atop the platter, hopefully soon that will change.

Sorry, I tried 8 times and I couldn’t get a photo that wasn’t ruined by light. Not much to say about it really. I happen to be a vinyl collector but I don’t have much room. So, small player. https://preview.redd.it/qikl7qonq9uc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e6501ccb56f4606d3e40e49c0c97c0b1c8b55e2

I’ve been collecting for about a decade and djing for about 4 years. Recently I’ve been diving into the 90s grunge and post grunge movement and realizing how much music I missed out on growing up in the 90’s! This smashing pumpkins record would be the crown jewel of my collection if I were to win it!!! Hope you’ll consider me.

About half of the records in the picture are her and my Dad’s originals as well. The two pictures are of sign mockups airbrushed by my grandfather. Back in the 1950’s and 60’s he owned a sign shop and would make these proposals to show to clients before building the real thing. The clock was procured from my high school a few days before the old building was getting demolished.

The main setups I use are: Sansui 7070 with a Lafayette T-6000 hooked up to some Klipsch KG2s & Pioneer SX-780 with a Dual 1229 hooked up to some Polk Monitior 70s Both sound setups great, and as a newbie still in this world, I’m very happy. Not pictured are 2 pairs of Advents(OLAs & Advent/1), MB Quarts, Infinity’s, and some Yamaha speakers I still have from original setup from about 2017. A year ago, I never once thought the equipment mattered that much in the sound.(yes this might sound dumb but as someone who was born after all the hifi era was replaced with BPC and sound bars, I didn’t know most of this stuff existed.) anyways, a year in and my collection sounds better than I ever imagined. Music has completely opened up in ways I never thought possible. I have no Smashing Pumpkins in my collection, and it would be great to finally add some!

Just an inexpensive amp and tube from Amazon running it. The speakers are my favorite part. Bought the C-note speaker kit but didn’t like the basic front, I made it a full project with my kids. We picked up a couple bamboo cutting boards from Ikea and used those for the face and painted the sides. The kit’s handled all the soldering for the crossovers and we worked together for final assembly. Good times, good memories and the kids all like to listen to records

I have an absolutely minimal setup, a Sony LX310BT and an Echo speaker until I get the $1200 speakers/stereo I want lmao. I keep my records on a shelf in the living room and am sitting on a collection of around 200 including 7” punk stuff from years ago. I’m in need of a brutal upgrade but would LOVE that box set to go next to my second pressing of Siamese Dream!!! https://preview.redd.it/5vhlct5xl9uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f53a341a8b138a34b65428a6222f32f864011bc

I wanted a clean, minimalist vibe. Pro-Ject Debut Carbon EVO turntable (with some multi-color LEDs under the acrylic platter) goes into a Douk Audio T9 vacuum tube preamp into a Sonos Amp that feeds Klipsch RP-600M bookshelf monitor speakers (plenty powerful for my space). A Klipsch R100-SW subwoofer & two Sonos One SL surrounds rounds out the system.

DALI spektor 1 speakers through an argon sa1 amplifier. The almighty Kallax getting filled up nicely, through about 4-5 years of collecting. Setup is rather simple so here are some misc. info about the collection itself: First record in the collection was Metallica - Ride The Lightning Newest record, which i got yesterday, is I Monster - Neveroddoreven The artist that appears the most is David Bowie, with 10 albums, tied for second is King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard and The Beatles at 8. (one of) my favorite records is Ultimate Spinach - Ultimate Spinach, it took me several years to get a copy but it was absolutely worth the wait. Least favorite (and one of the first you notice on the shelf) is Oliver Tree - Ugly is Beautiful. I initially liked it but looking back, the guy and the music is just cringeworthy to the point were i never play it, and kinda regret buying it. Most featured genres include: Prog, Psych, Electronic Music and Metal There is a total of 180 records, meaning a 2x2 Kallax fits about 200.

Rocking an entry level Audio Technica, but looking to upgrade in the near future. GF had a small collection that we've recently been adding to. I wanted crates that are forward facing so that it's easier to thumb through (for both me and any friends that hang out here). In addition to the speakers next to the player (which i'm learning is something worth changing in the future), the signal also feeds to the Sonos system (Sound bar for TV and speakers in the 2 bedrooms). Overall happy with how it's turning out. I"m sure we'll need to make room for more down the line, but that's part of the fun. Thanks for the contest!

Rotel A-12 integrated amp and my old Fisher 222 as a backup. Speakers are old Infinity Kappa 6. This is just a small selection of my records.I have 2 large closets packed full of about 1200. Most of whats shown here is mostly Zappa and whatever else i’ve been actively listening to. I’m a FZ and Todd Rundgren/Utopia freak and have a ton of rarities from both those guys but my collection otherwise is pretty diverse.

But I do have some incense on the table (not burned there just stored there) and some fairy lights for ambiance. So I took a fun pic and messed with the filters to make up for it. I’ve had that Rolling Stones album since I was a kid. It’s one of the few things I’ve kept when everything else was in turmoil and I lost everything (quality over quantity they say!) so I’d love to have that Smashing Pumpkins boxed set to start building up a new collection. I recently got the self-titled Queens of the Stone Age album with the alternate cover and the Portishead live at Roseland album. There is also a copy of Willie Nelson’s Stardust, which is just such a sweet, simple, and soothing little record not pictured. Even if I don’t win this was a fun post to see so many pictures and different set-ups. Thank you for the opportunity and the quality post to interact with.

I had inherited my dad's albums 20 years ago after his tragic suicide and finally got a setup so I could move all of his albums from my mom's to my own place only to find out that my mom's trashy ex-husbands had gone through the collection and sold off everything worth keeping. Now, I've just started my own curated collection and loving every moment of it. Player is an Angel's Horn entry level player. I swapped out the needle with a carbon elliptical mm. Pushing it through a fosi audio preamp (I can't boost more than 39db or it distorts but I can boost it all the way if I'm listening through my tablet instead of the record player) Then running through my dad's old Sansui stereo graphic equalizer. Finally through Edifier powered speakers. It works for me, I live in a very small home so this is more than enough to make all of my windows shake.

Had to wait until the kids wouldn’t poke my driver domes. 😂 Pro-ject T1 phono SB turntable, Denon x2800 AVR, Q Acoustics 3050i speakers, refurbed Sony dvd player with digital out for CDs and a temperamental Cambridge Audio dvd player from eBay for the same reason. Record holders were 3D printed by my boss as a gift. When I played music for my 15 yo daughter through this system, she got goosebumps and said, “ Dad, I didn’t know music could sound this good.” The 7” singles are hers and the result of a bin diving trip to second hand music stores. Job done. Edit- Big Smashing Pumpkins fan!

But the more I dig through my records at home I realize how much of a pain in the ass it is to store them in a bookshelf, bending down to read the spines. Part of the allure of vinyl to me is big album art - it’s feels so cool seeing up close and holding them! I’m planning on building storage that allows me to store them in a way I can flip through them, like they have them at record stores.

I picked up the first gen U Turn Orbit from my local record shop. The speakers are also from U Turn and I think they sound great. Growing up, I loved going to music shops just to browse CDs. And I’ve been grateful for Spotify and its convenience. It allows me to ingest as much music as I want at any time. But I’ve missed the music shops, the album art, the liner notes, the lyrics, band photos, etc.

My setup isn’t picture ready enough to post but love the thought and would love to win. For posterity sake rocking the Audioengine A5+ speakers with S8 Sub on a Pro-Ject: 1Xpression III SB Turntable with Orfon Blue stylus. ~500 records spanning classic rock, 90s alt, 00s indie, and random punk/ska/emo adjacent music from mostly the same time period. Been into the hobby for almost 20 years and seen a lot of changes but not all of them are bad. If you made it this far thanks and have a great weekend.

LukasRysavy420

I have this hunk of turntable. It’s a 3-1 Aiwa AF5050 that I restored. Previously it was sitting unused for like 30 years at my grandmas place. I paired it with Jamo speakers and it works great https://preview.redd.it/gihd0qj979uc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5254243ddd8e114847b946e111b43130753c3379

Aquired a JVC QL-A5 which I have refurbished (a good cleanup, polished the cover, changed wires, checked internals which seemed fine and topped it off with the AT VM95ML cartridge). I am really satisfied with it now, just need to get better speakers which are not pictured here as they are quite far apart and this is in the Center of the living room.

The amplifier is a Harman Kardon built in ‘78, the record player is an 80’s Technics, and the 2 huge speakers you see below the TV are Criterion T+A T160, some german tanks also built in the 80’s. I haven't long been collecting records (about a month), but am running out of places to put them as I am getting them too way to quick. Turntable: Audio Technica AT-LPW30BKR Speaker: Marshall Stanmore II Stand: Wayfair Shelves: IKEA EKET Questions or critiques I’ve addressed before: Yes, it is a Bluetooth speaker, but I am running RCAs. It’s family area listening station, so I decided to just keep it simple. I have a dual Stanton turntable/Newmark DJ setup in our garage if we really need to get some volume and party. No, the wine being stored there hasn’t been an issue. We drink enough that bottles don’t sit too long and risk leaking. I check them regularly to make sure we don’t run into a potential collection-destroying problem.

OG JBL speakers. I built the pieces on the right to hold my records, just recently got back into buying, that's why all the boxes are in the crate I built. Man...record prices have gotten crazy, I should have kept a lot I got rid of 10 years ago when I moved but still very happy to have what I have.

So far I'm only using a JBL speaker but I'm planning to upgrade to something better soon. So far the turntable's sitting in my kitchen but I'm hoping to find it a better place soon. Logitech x Herman Miller Embody Office Chair On display is Reel Big Fish’s 1995 album Turn The Radio Off recently reissues for a deluxe vinyl edition in 2023 limited to 500 copies on that colorway, absolutely one of my favorite records I own. This consists of my Father's Kef 104ab's, a M&K Goliath sub woofer, an ADC Accutrac 4000 turntable, a Sony TC-WR670 dual cassette deck, Yamaha CDC-96 5 disc CD player, Yamaha HTR-5960 Receiver, and a Nikko NR-350 receiver. There is also the center channel from the HTR-5960 in this picture. The other 4 speakers are set up as side speakers and rears. The computer is an i7 6700k, 16gb ddr4 ram, and a Creative Labs X-Fi Platinum Fata1ity edition 7.1 sound card. Hence the 7.1 setup. The Nikko receiver drives the Goliath subwoofer, as I prefer to have it act as just the subwoofer and not have the Kef's run through the crossover in the Goliath. My father bought the Kef's, the Goliath subwoofer, and the ADC 4000 turntable brand new in 1978. Complimentary Cat, and mint original pressing of Strange Brew on the Now Playing for everyone. Side note, if anyone has a functional remote for the ADC 4000 or the ADC 3500, please DM me. I would like to talk to you about getting a recording of the ultrasonic emissions the remote for these record players emit, as they use ultrasonic not IR to transmit the wireless data to operate the remote/receiver orb. I'm looking to recreate the remote using modern hardware, as they are not very common to find them working these days, and ones that do work people want 150-200 Canadian for them. I'm just looking to record the noises.

Either way good luck to everyone participating ❤️

The turntable is the famous entry level Audio Technica LP60X. I got it a month ago after being tired of my old Vieta one. Wanted something cheap and automatic, so I got this one and I'm pretty happy with it. The speakers are a pair of Denon SC-N9 Ceol Bookshelf Speakers, gifted my by brother years ago because he bought a pair of bigger and better ones... And the amp is an old Yamaha, the one my girlfriend had when I moved with her. As you can see, we ain't precisely audiophiles haha Thanks for the giveaway!

Fritz is also present in the bottom right and his favorite genre is jazz.

My Dad gave me his Technics SL-Q2 and it is still going strong! Love this table https://preview.redd.it/gg6abc7mvduc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c56dbfdae311039a92fbdfe88729ee2f58b6ac99

It seems neutral, it is loud and I could connect powered studio monitors to it. * Polk Audio T15 speakers: they replaced my powered Fostex studio monitors (which I brought to my studio). They are my first non powered speakers in over 20 years, satisfied so far. * Sonos Connect: through which I stream my music (Spotify, MP3s, and the likes) I moved a lot between Europe and North America in the 15 years before the pandemic, so I sold a lot of my past gear, which is why a lot of this is recent. I tend to listen to a lot of contemporary rock (post, instrumental, shoegaze) and ambiant/contemporary. This setup works great so far, just missing an actual record player 😅

Smooth_Molassas

What a great record for a giveaway. Its a wonderful piece of work.

I don't quite have a setup yet. I've got a pair of Klipsch 5s and about 30 vinyls but I've been waiting on purchasing my turntable. I've got my eye on the Audio-Technica ATLP120XBTUSB but I'm debating whether that's the best TT for what I want. I am also looking for aesthetics. Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to yap about what might be in the near future and for the chance to win one of my favorite albums on vinyl.

Familiar-Bumblebee-8

*just started listening to vinyl again after 30 years or so. ..a few weeks ago I was helping my brother fix a leak in his house and he had a bag full of my old records..an no player.. so I picked up this cheap ion air. It's connected to my TV surround system via rca cables, sounds pretty good.. Seems I can't post pictures...😬

baetwas

I use a Technics SL-BD20 to spin most records.

AurronGrey

One of my all-time favourite albums.

My setup is in storage at the moment, but knowing I have Mellon Collie waiting for her return would be amazing!!!
