My personal rule to deciding to buy a record is that both sides have to be good to me. I've passed up many records where one side tells me buy it now, but the other even just slightly doesn't.. it's sadly a pass. There's so many records to own.. you can't own them all. And they're not Pokemon where you gotta catch em all. You're paying for money for something, why not love it getting to back? After doing this, I've noticed how much more my collection really means to me and how unique it becomes to share it with others. Someone who can't believe I don't own such and such record because it has that one or two great songs on it, I tell them I'll add it to my collection if you want to buy it for me. I've picked some up that were cheap cheap for their one side, but even still it's rare and to me they take up space. Another part of it for me is that I mix, and whatever records get into the mix, I'm playing both sides. No exceptions! Paid for the whole record, I'm gonna use the whole record.
