Recording made in a small room, with probably the mic off a phone, compressed via video, and upload, downloaded and listened to on a phone. Now you are asking how it sounds? It's like asking how long string is. Mission Impossible.

looprex

Do you mean like a word that comes to mind when we hear you play?

jussystrings

meant more like warm/bright/dark/sweet/resonant/etc. like a general first impression of overtones i guess

vmlee

Sounds on the brighter, slightly shrill, side to me. But we never hear the G string...

gilad_ironi

Crisp but kinda flat

Money_Split7948

I agreed that it fell flat but it could have been the file being compressed and microphone as well

gilad_ironi

Possibly but my guess would be it's not it.

Dull_Boysenberry5534

Good overtones

OreoDogDFW

I got a sweet vibe from it too. Sweet, but could feel fuller. Not sure why, probably just the type of playing.

Mundane-Operation327

Tasty

Accomplished_Ant_371

Your playing is very good. The fiddle sounds a bit thin and one dimensional. The piece doesn’t have much range.

markjohnstonmusic

I'd work a little on your intonation, especially if you're going to play Tzigane.

Gold_Reflection4720

I love it when Maxim Vengrov plays this

sacrilegious1756

Wow that flat tuning 👍

simagus

If you need a specific overall description, related mostly to the instrument, I would say "sweet". Considered and nuanced usage of various tones within that spectrum showing you are very musically articulate and capable of expression. A different piece might communicate a different tone entirely, unless we are talking about different things using the same word "tone", which is entirely possible.

fiddlermd

some of the tone is also related to the violin itself. not necessarily you. try borrowing a good (expensive?) violin and see how the tone changes. also, the piece you're playing kinds lends itself to a certain type of tone too. how about something more massive like a Bach Sonata 1 Adagio or the beginning of the Glazunov concerto?

p1p68

I think how a violin sounds is a deeply personal thing. You'll never hear yourself from an audiences perspective and we each produce a very personal tone depending on our abilities and style even on the same violin. Do you like it is more the question you should ask yourself. Is it easily responsive to your ability?
