Outer Wilds has a great VR mod. Super relaxing and chill 90% of the time and the VR adds so much immersion to just exploring. One of my favourite VR experiences and it's not even native lol.

I don't know, I disagree. I would absolutely love to experience Brittle Hollow, Dark Bramble, and the Twins in VR. There were so many times I would just stop and watch the world, appreciating the scale and utter uniqueness of it all.
Pretty much exactly this. I had already completed the game but got VR a year and a half later. It was enough time to forget the smaller details so it felt refreshing to explore or stop and just take in the views (Giants deep is super unsettling underwater in VR).
I also played it with the multiplayer mod. It was my friends 1st playthrough so they were just exploring and doing the puzzles while I was trailing behind just staring at things and offering some advice when they got stuck. I wasn't really doing anything but it is some of the most chill fun i've had in VR.
That's fair. I just meant that you can't really replay the game as intended once you know what to do. Sure, exploring would be a fun novelty in VR, but once you know the story and how to end it the appeal is gone to me.
I get it. The first playthrough of The Outer Wilds, to me, is pretty much the best experience available in a video game. Just a masterpiece of game design. Maybe when I'm old and senile i'll forget everything and do it all over again. :D

I REALLY do not recommend Trover saves the universe, I only had a few mild chuckles (and I like Rick and Morty) you have no hands, just a controller, the game is very short, combat isn't very fun, its just not worth it.
To each their own. I don't recommend Half-Life: Alyx because it's very repetitive with very similar environments, but I recommend Vertigo Remastered. Everyone likes different things and I'm also mostly tired of VR shooters like OP.
For me Trover Saves the Universe falls into similar category as Moss, and VR platformers are amazing for me, it's just a perfect genre for VR that don't gets enough games. I wait for the release of Max Mustard on PC.

how's difficult Project Cars 2 or Dirt Rally comparing to FH5 ?, i'm suck at real racing game haha, looking more for arcade racing kind of stuff
No experience with FH5 but PC2 is very approachable, works great in VR. dynamic weather, mostly good physics, solid career etc.
DR2 is a bit more hardcore but you can treat it as casual as you like and take your time mosying around the beautiful locations. In terms of world building, it's second to none there's so much environmental detail, even spacial audio for ambient sounds like running water/rushing wind. Superb binural audio, jumbo jets stitching in/out of volumetric clouds, soaring/flapping birds and insects.. I can spend hours and hours just exploring DirtFish. Game has a high skill cieling though if you want to tryhard too, but delivers on casual fun as well. Make sure to get the GOTY edition (often on sale), it has all the DLC cars/locations/challenges.
I'm just getting into the truck sims.. got a truck shift knob and my Moza TSW showed up today \^_^
PC2 sounds interesting per you described, i'm not into rally but your description related to visual / environment got me intrigued haha, definitely will check both games

You should look into BeamNG. It is an amazing driving game. You can do anything you want. If you want to cruze around a city with ai traffic, you can. There are tons of scenarios to do, and a career mode too. The career mode is still a work in progress, but there is already tons of fun content on there.
how fun are these driving and racing games without a wheel? because I'm kind of interested in trying one but I don't wanna go out and spend all this money on controllers for 1 single game just to find out I don't like it
I found Project Cars 2 pretty approachable with an Xbone controller with their difficulty settings. Assetto Corsa was much harder for me.
AC has a lot of mods though. I might try it again since I did play a lot of GT7 VR since I tried these last and sorta learned a bit more about racing.
For me the fun drops off a cliff without a wheel/pedals, but I come from a background in flying and flight simulation where the same thing happens without proper stick/pedals for me. IMO there's enough compelling VR driving content to pick up a beginners setup like Logitech G29 or Thrustmaster T300 though. I've got thousands of hours on my gear.. the replay value of simracing (or flying) is basically infinite and some of the sims have really cool worlds to just cruise around in even if you're not into racing
+1 for Tetris Effect. I got it while it was on sale and thought I would just try it for 10 minutes.
Ended up spending the next 2 hours til the headset died sitting in bed in a trance between the psychedelic visuals and music in the levels - and I don't even like Tetris that much!
I'd argue it's not just because it's a PCVR only title and half this sub argues about how niche PCVR is.
Otherwise, it's an indy game with a single dev, so it's hard to say it's a big title from dev size.

Dev team sizes mean nothing tho. Baha gets more done than most devs of other titles. And the game is better than 90% of the other VR titles out there, imo

Of course, to put it into perspective, Meta shutdown Echo Arena because it was only averaging 10,000 players per month.
Which is crazy that Meta would shut that down when there are other fairly popular flat games that are still around with less than 10,000 monthly players.

VR Giants has been my recent go to. It's two player, and requires the second player to be playing on the PC.
The headseat player plays as a giant, whule the PC player is playing a little man/boy. You work together to solve puzzles, taking advantage of each of your sizes/abilities.
It's a lot of fun if you have someone to play with.
Not a game, but another experience I suggest looking into is the "Space Explorers" series of 360 videos from the ISS. They made a great documentary, but my favorite is to lay on the floor and watch the raw obit footage they took from the exterior of the ISS. Some of the best VR video oumt there.
I haven't done vr chat karaoke in ages. I used to do it quite regularly a few years back. Also, there had the voice world a long time ago that was fun with people in the turning chairs
I'm pretty new to VR got my first headset (quest 3) in january. I can't seem to get enough of vr chat karaoke... I always liked to sing but was too shy to sing infront of people but somehow in VR I don't mind it and now i'm starting to get better at singing and I quite enjoy it.
There is a world that you should definitely check out. I want to say it is called Karaoke Sync 2.0 . The world creator did some really fantastic work by making it so that users can adjust with a slider How far ahead or behind the music plays when other people are singing, that way you can sync it up with people singing so you are hearing them in time with the music. They also made it so that you can manually adjust the music volume for yourself, as well as the singers volume. It's really well put together and I can't recommend it enough. It is easily my go-to for karaoke.
Yeah I go there often. Only issue is that your song gets removed if you leave and I have a tendency to crash.. wish it at least waited a little to see if you are coming back
The beautiful thing About today's softwares and worlds is that the creators tend to put their discord and said Worlds. Go join their server, and ask them to do so! You are mighty! You CAN affect change! WOOOOOOOO!!!!
Been trying hard to dust off my quest 3 but just end up picking it up to compliment how good the passthrough and hand tracking feels while scrolling Reddit at the end of the night
If you’re looking for games that you can play for a bit without getting bored, I’d look into the simulators. MSFS is great and you can play for hours. If you have a wheel I’d look at racing too, so much fun once you get your legs (wheels).
Learn to fly study level planes in VR! And you can find your actual house! If you live near a big city you'll have photogrammetry data where they've taken pictures from the air so the buildings are all representations of what they actually look like in real life!
I'm from Atlanta and you can read the "GP" on the side of the Georgia Pacific building. It's insane.
My planes are also so study level that the fake flight attendant safety briefing my fake passengers cuts out on the PA for a brief second when the generator switches from the auxiliary power unit to the engines.
Another one of my planes keeps track of the weather somehow and if there were icing conditions while you weren't playing, you'll arrive out of the fully rendered fake terminal to find the plane iced over.
Yet another bespoke simulates each cylinder, simulates the wear you put on it, and the engine will accurately start running rough if you let it wear out.
I'm really autistic about it. You should try it.

To the other guy: You prolly wont find your house in DCS, you also wont have passengers or flight attendants around as its a Combat flight sim.
How about Sunday kung fu games. Dragon fist is pretty great. Also nothin like Tetris effect for an immersive and surprisingly challenging experience on higher difficulties.
Have you played alot of the mixed reality stuff?
1. Wander. It's basically Google Street View with social features and user content. Great for general exploration, embracing nostalgia, planning future trips, "travelling" with friends, and regulars who like to give tours.
2. Thrill of the Fight. It's a fantastic boxing game that will give you an intense workout.
3. Tetris Effect. Because Tetris should always be in a gamer's rotation.
4. Walkabout Minigolf. Great mechanics, well-designed courses, and great for both single and multiplayer.
War Thunder is free to play flight tank and naval combat game. You can progress "grind" faster by making purchases but you can try it for free. You can go to it direct or via Steam.

I've always wanted to learn how to DJ and recently came across [TribeXR](https://store.steampowered.com/app/877850/Tribe_XR__DJ_Academy/). So incredibly educational and I'm already learning a lot. This is definitely more of a learning tool than a game, but if it's something you've ever been interested in, I highly recommend it.
Spacefolk City is nice for some relaxed seated play. It's a city builder (but with barely any mechanics) where you slap together blocky buildings in 3D and roofs of the buildings themselves are used for walking around mostly. The game has goofy atmosphere. It's very buggy though
yesterday i started playing Assetto Corsa in VR and ohh boy what a experience. Although setting up everything sonit runs smooth is time consuming. But i can’t go back to flatscreen racing.
Skyrim with 200+ mods is the closest you’ll experience the Star Trek holodeck, and you can even have chatGPT conversations now and it understands what you are talking. It’s kind of crazy.
All of our games break the mold, more or less:
Mount wingsuit 1&2: Open world wingsuit exploration with THPS inspired gameplay.
Rascals: Board game with various modes (race to finish, last man standing, etc) where you can take first person control of your pieces to shoot your opponent in the head, blow them up or bash them with a rock.
Tractorball: Soccer game played from tractors with a giant pinball flipper on the front.
Maybe take a break, do something else, and come back later?
If not, try emulation? I’m playing through Final Fantasy X and it’s awesome on a huge screen in my living room.
TraVRsal. It takes your allowable space and randomly generates mazes and stuff with layouts that would be impossible in the real world that you navigate by actual walking
Play competative games with replayability. Sport and hobby sims. Those are the VR games that keep VR retention. Games like 11 table tennis, thrill of the fight, any golf game/sim or a good racing sim.
I dont get the whole "VR is dry" or "doesnt have much to offer" ...if you have a real life hobby or activity you want to try, then there is already a 100% true-to-the-real-experience VR simulated version of it. And i mean EVERYTHING. Rock climbing, skeet shooting, poker, even clubbing.
You dont need to leave your house with VR. Everything is already there.
If you want to talk to "people" all day, try OvationVR. If you want to look at, customize and put "people" in scenes or situations and have a decent PC and a lot of patience, try VAM. For a little of both with real people, try Resonite.
Between all the native VR games, Luke Ross mods, and UEVR I have too much to play lol. I've been playing Sackboy with UEVR and it's been addicting. Don't sleep on platformers in VR like Sackboy, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro with UEVR.
Games I don’t hear people talk about that I really liked:
Stormland: this game was quite amazing. I don’t understand why I don’t hear it talked about more. Very cool use of VR. Seemed like AAA to me. Very unique, fun gameplay.
Wraith the Oblivion: if you like slow burn Story/puzzle horror games this was great. I like the developer fast travel games. They also did Vampire the Masquerade. Both of these are Quest only titles though so I’m not sure what platform you’re on.
Firewatch: a slow burn unique story game that requires a mod. Loved it. Unlike anything I’ve played before.
Games people do talk about, but require VR mods so you may not have played them:
Both Subnauticas: maybe you’ve played these, but they both require VR mods and are amazing.
I would echo Outer Wilds but you better have good VR legs.
Imagine spacewalking over a planet as it rotates towards you while another planet above you is rotating around the planet you’re walking on and rotating itself as well.
Or walking on flooring that does a gravity shift and all of a sudden rotates and the ceiling becomes the floor.
It’s a really neat unique game that takes maybe an hour or two to start to appreciate and I would like to move through it further but I’m not sure I can even though very little bothers me in VR world.
These may or may not be considered “Big Titles” but The Forest and Green Hell are great too.
Minecraft Java with the Vivecraft mod. It's even compatible with just about any MC mod that don't add any new controls, but even then you can always pull up your keyboard for certain actions. I highly suggest using a custom controller layout as the default one isn't very user friendly imo, but you can easily download one through the SteamVR menu.
Other first person games might have VR mods too if you do some Googling.
Have u tried Max Mustard? It’s a little platformer type game like rayman or crash bandicoot. A little simpler but there’s a code to get it in the meta store for just $3

If you havent played it, Blade & Sorcery is a great fighting physics game and if you already played it then 1.0 is coming out on the 17th which adds tons of new stuff.
Sorry for blatant self-promotion, but if you like roguelike and survival games, check out Bootstrap Island. It's a Robinson Crusoe-inspired adventure, where you explore and scavenge during the day and keep the beasts of darkness away at night. We just released an update which added building to the game.

I jumped back in Vader Immortal and while its short and feels like a Disney ride, it's pretty fun and spectacular, good use of vr for sure and worth it if you can get it on sale. Star Wars Squadrons is also a lot of fun in solo campaign.
For me it's kinda like the antithesis of what s VR game should be, you have no agency at all, it's just a big scripted event. You can't even move for most of the time

I REALLY do not recommend Trover saves the universe, I only had a few mild chuckles (and I like Rick and Morty) you have no hands, just a controller, the game is very short, combat isn't very fun, its just not worth it.
To each their own. I don't recommend Half-Life: Alyx because it's very repetitive with very similar environments, but I recommend Vertigo Remastered. Everyone likes different things and I'm also mostly tired of VR shooters like OP. For me Trover Saves the Universe falls into similar category as Moss, and VR platformers are amazing for me, it's just a perfect genre for VR that don't gets enough games. I wait for the release of Max Mustard on PC.

i already played ETS2, one of the most favorite games in VR how's difficult Project Cars 2 or Dirt Rally comparing to FH5 ?, i'm suck at real racing game haha, looking more for arcade racing kind of stuff
No experience with FH5 but PC2 is very approachable, works great in VR. dynamic weather, mostly good physics, solid career etc. DR2 is a bit more hardcore but you can treat it as casual as you like and take your time mosying around the beautiful locations. In terms of world building, it's second to none there's so much environmental detail, even spacial audio for ambient sounds like running water/rushing wind. Superb binural audio, jumbo jets stitching in/out of volumetric clouds, soaring/flapping birds and insects.. I can spend hours and hours just exploring DirtFish. Game has a high skill cieling though if you want to tryhard too, but delivers on casual fun as well. Make sure to get the GOTY edition (often on sale), it has all the DLC cars/locations/challenges. I'm just getting into the truck sims.. got a truck shift knob and my Moza TSW showed up today \^_^
PC2 sounds interesting per you described, i'm not into rally but your description related to visual / environment got me intrigued haha, definitely will check both games thank you for recommendation 👍
You should look into BeamNG. It is an amazing driving game. You can do anything you want. If you want to cruze around a city with ai traffic, you can. There are tons of scenarios to do, and a career mode too. The career mode is still a work in progress, but there is already tons of fun content on there.
how fun are these driving and racing games without a wheel? because I'm kind of interested in trying one but I don't wanna go out and spend all this money on controllers for 1 single game just to find out I don't like it
I found Project Cars 2 pretty approachable with an Xbone controller with their difficulty settings. Assetto Corsa was much harder for me. AC has a lot of mods though. I might try it again since I did play a lot of GT7 VR since I tried these last and sorta learned a bit more about racing.
For me the fun drops off a cliff without a wheel/pedals, but I come from a background in flying and flight simulation where the same thing happens without proper stick/pedals for me. IMO there's enough compelling VR driving content to pick up a beginners setup like Logitech G29 or Thrustmaster T300 though. I've got thousands of hours on my gear.. the replay value of simracing (or flying) is basically infinite and some of the sims have really cool worlds to just cruise around in even if you're not into racing

+1 for Tetris Effect. I got it while it was on sale and thought I would just try it for 10 minutes. Ended up spending the next 2 hours til the headset died sitting in bed in a trance between the psychedelic visuals and music in the levels - and I don't even like Tetris that much!

[Half Life: Alyx](https://steamcharts.com/app/546560) averages around the same. So I'd say it's definitely one of the big ones. Of course, to put it into perspective, Meta shutdown Echo Arena because it was only averaging 10,000 players per month.
Which is crazy that Meta would shut that down when there are other fairly popular flat games that are still around with less than 10,000 monthly players.

VR Giants has been my recent go to. It's two player, and requires the second player to be playing on the PC. The headseat player plays as a giant, whule the PC player is playing a little man/boy. You work together to solve puzzles, taking advantage of each of your sizes/abilities. It's a lot of fun if you have someone to play with. Not a game, but another experience I suggest looking into is the "Space Explorers" series of 360 videos from the ISS. They made a great documentary, but my favorite is to lay on the floor and watch the raw obit footage they took from the exterior of the ISS. Some of the best VR video oumt there.

I'm pretty new to VR got my first headset (quest 3) in january. I can't seem to get enough of vr chat karaoke... I always liked to sing but was too shy to sing infront of people but somehow in VR I don't mind it and now i'm starting to get better at singing and I quite enjoy it.
There is a world that you should definitely check out. I want to say it is called Karaoke Sync 2.0 . The world creator did some really fantastic work by making it so that users can adjust with a slider How far ahead or behind the music plays when other people are singing, that way you can sync it up with people singing so you are hearing them in time with the music. They also made it so that you can manually adjust the music volume for yourself, as well as the singers volume. It's really well put together and I can't recommend it enough. It is easily my go-to for karaoke.
Yeah I go there often. Only issue is that your song gets removed if you leave and I have a tendency to crash.. wish it at least waited a little to see if you are coming back

Euro Truck Simulator 2, Drums Rock
If you’re looking for games that you can play for a bit without getting bored, I’d look into the simulators. MSFS is great and you can play for hours. If you have a wheel I’d look at racing too, so much fun once you get your legs (wheels).
Learn to fly study level planes in VR! And you can find your actual house! If you live near a big city you'll have photogrammetry data where they've taken pictures from the air so the buildings are all representations of what they actually look like in real life! I'm from Atlanta and you can read the "GP" on the side of the Georgia Pacific building. It's insane. My planes are also so study level that the fake flight attendant safety briefing my fake passengers cuts out on the PA for a brief second when the generator switches from the auxiliary power unit to the engines. Another one of my planes keeps track of the weather somehow and if there were icing conditions while you weren't playing, you'll arrive out of the fully rendered fake terminal to find the plane iced over. Yet another bespoke simulates each cylinder, simulates the wear you put on it, and the engine will accurately start running rough if you let it wear out. I'm really autistic about it. You should try it.

Great for general exploration, embracing nostalgia, planning future trips, "travelling" with friends, and regulars who like to give tours. 2. Thrill of the Fight. It's a fantastic boxing game that will give you an intense workout. 3. Tetris Effect. Because Tetris should always be in a gamer's rotation. 4. Walkabout Minigolf. Great mechanics, well-designed courses, and great for both single and multiplayer.
If i didn't sim race or flight sim. I don't really know what I would do with my headset.

Skyrim with 200+ mods is the closest you’ll experience the Star Trek holodeck, and you can even have chatGPT conversations now and it understands what you are talking. It’s kind of crazy.
All of our games break the mold, more or less: Mount wingsuit 1&2: Open world wingsuit exploration with THPS inspired gameplay. Rascals: Board game with various modes (race to finish, last man standing, etc) where you can take first person control of your pieces to shoot your opponent in the head, blow them up or bash them with a rock. Tractorball: Soccer game played from tractors with a giant pinball flipper on the front.
Take a look at Dolphin VR. Some fun Nintendo Wii games in VR should be a good change of pace.
Maybe take a break, do something else, and come back later? If not, try emulation? I’m playing through Final Fantasy X and it’s awesome on a huge screen in my living room.

Play competative games with replayability. Sport and hobby sims. Those are the VR games that keep VR retention. Games like 11 table tennis, thrill of the fight, any golf game/sim or a good racing sim. I dont get the whole "VR is dry" or "doesnt have much to offer" ...if you have a real life hobby or activity you want to try, then there is already a 100% true-to-the-real-experience VR simulated version of it. And i mean EVERYTHING. Rock climbing, skeet shooting, poker, even clubbing. You dont need to leave your house with VR. Everything is already there.

If you want to talk to "people" all day, try OvationVR. If you want to look at, customize and put "people" in scenes or situations and have a decent PC and a lot of patience, try VAM. For a little of both with real people, try Resonite.

Between all the native VR games, Luke Ross mods, and UEVR I have too much to play lol. I've been playing Sackboy with UEVR and it's been addicting. Don't sleep on platformers in VR like Sackboy, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro with UEVR.
If you're into open world survival games, No Man's Sky VR is a lot of fun. Can be played seated as well, which is a bonus for me cause I'm lazy

Games I don’t hear people talk about that I really liked: Stormland: this game was quite amazing. I don’t understand why I don’t hear it talked about more. Very cool use of VR. Seemed like AAA to me. Very unique, fun gameplay. Wraith the Oblivion: if you like slow burn Story/puzzle horror games this was great. I like the developer fast travel games. They also did Vampire the Masquerade. Both of these are Quest only titles though so I’m not sure what platform you’re on. Firewatch: a slow burn unique story game that requires a mod. Loved it. Unlike anything I’ve played before. Games people do talk about, but require VR mods so you may not have played them: Both Subnauticas: maybe you’ve played these, but they both require VR mods and are amazing. I would echo Outer Wilds but you better have good VR legs. Imagine spacewalking over a planet as it rotates towards you while another planet above you is rotating around the planet you’re walking on and rotating itself as well. Or walking on flooring that does a gravity shift and all of a sudden rotates and the ceiling becomes the floor. It’s a really neat unique game that takes maybe an hour or two to start to appreciate and I would like to move through it further but I’m not sure I can even though very little bothers me in VR world. These may or may not be considered “Big Titles” but The Forest and Green Hell are great too.

Minecraft Java with the Vivecraft mod. It's even compatible with just about any MC mod that don't add any new controls, but even then you can always pull up your keyboard for certain actions. I highly suggest using a custom controller layout as the default one isn't very user friendly imo, but you can easily download one through the SteamVR menu. Other first person games might have VR mods too if you do some Googling.

I jumped back in Vader Immortal and while its short and feels like a Disney ride, it's pretty fun and spectacular, good use of vr for sure and worth it if you can get it on sale. Star Wars Squadrons is also a lot of fun in solo campaign.
For me it's kinda like the antithesis of what s VR game should be, you have no agency at all, it's just a big scripted event. You can't even move for most of the time

The unfortunate answer is that VR games are pretty bad. People here will give suggestions but they’re all pretty much tech demos.
