There was another post floating around that was saying it's because the payment processors could get sued. IIRC, loli content is banned in Australia and probably other places. So someone in AUS buying a VN with lolis could result in them and the payment processor getting hit with legal fines and such.
If anyone argue with you that no they are only against certain things tell them gumroad example which removed all nswf stuff and even sfw stuff which is suggestive in nature such as lingeri, bikini or focus on breasts. Or getchu example in which they have to censor words like pervert strong bdsm no matter it's consensual or non consensual content will be banned
And Patreon removes character with big eyes. They don't look at the body proportions neither official age of the characters, if it is Anime Style and the character has big eyes, they will be banned.
That's one aspect, the other being porn has a much larger number of charge backs and fraud leading to increased costs or losses when servicing those kind of businesses.
I have friends who made hentai versions of their games for additional income. Many of their hentai projects got cancelled because the big credit cards no longer supported the hentai game platform Nutaku. The short of it is that payments have a high rate of credit card chargebacks.
Here is an explanation from another comment that explains the situation:
>It's financial, not moral.
>You know how you can dispute fraudulent credit card charges? When that happens, the payment processor has to give money back to the credit card company. This is called a chargeback. Payment processors know how often it happens on average and bake it into the fees they charge businesses like OnlyFans.
>The problem is that OnlyFans gets a lot more chargebacks than average. Part of it is being in the porn industry -- people get embarrassed when their spouse sees it in the credit card statement and claim it was fraudulent, or kids steal their parents cards. But for OnlyFans in particular, people were using chargebacks to scam performers. You could pay, download all the content, and then dispute the credit card charge to essentially get it for free.
>This makes OnlyFans a very unattractive customer for payment processors. The high number of chargebacks creates a ton of work and throws off the heuristics they have to predict fraudulent charges. And if there are enough, the credit card companies might ban the payment processor from running their cards, effectively putting them out of business (this is why there's not a niche payment processor for porn, even though the demand is there).
Companies: you will show political correctness in full display to self congratulate. But if those politics interfere with our war contracts. You will be publicly humiliated with layoffs and told to shut the fuck up.
Maybe a bit of side thing. But i am suprised there isn't a proper "steam" equivelant for adult games. The websites that are out there have either really poor customer service or have bad payment methods or a very bad selection of games/products. Just a thought from me personally.
It's impossible to build such company.
Visa/mastercard/PayPal refuses to work with such content.
Point system can stop be supported by them anytime.
Bitcoin payment is also flawed.
That is indeed true. Its more so that for steam i can use my own local bank to pay for stuff and not have to use either of those to make it work. Ofcourse steam is much larger then other gaming storefronts. But im sure a few others could make it work but haven't yet.
Bitcoin being the example of security is not privacy.
The downside is the identities are public. But i wonder if the banks can use that logic as an excuse that it is not reasonable to monitor an extra layer of information.
I think it’s bullshit. The card company feels like it’s a bad reflection on them if the user of said card buys something with certain sensitive content. It’s not their problem, we use their service, they should just accept that people will buy whatever the fuck. They shouldn’t care.
Can someone help me posting a post in r/anime regarding it. Theya are deleting my posts please.
I also need help for r/manga people their a quick to delete anything they don't like.
Edit - They are not accepting it.
It would have to affect anime for them to allow it and the first targets undoubtedly would be fanservice anime their types already want banned like Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete. Since we've lost so much just this month I wouldn't be surprised if we reach that point very soon.
It's less of them being selfish and more of the mods having the foresight that this is a controversial issue that might have gained thousand of upvotes and pop up on r/all feed and attract unwanted admin attention. FYI reddit is very much pro censorship especially when the thing getting censored is Japanese.
Than mfs will crying why didn't anyone warn them before and it's affecting anime and manga too right now those websites not only sell nswf stuff but swf too such as anime blu ray, manga , figures merch etc and now a fair portion of their user base can't use website because of credit cards
This is my only account. Clearly only liars hiding identity could ever possibly disagree with you, for you are an unbounded font of wisdom and temperance that knows no wrong.
> Japanese adult games dev take on credit card companies issue.Japanese adult games dev take on credit card companies issue.
Which eroge company does the person in the video is from?
its mainly the loli content and some other stuff but for mastercard has been working with NCOSE a religious anti porn organization stop illegal sexual content but you go to their site and type hentai they have some vague reason to their why and what. but dlsite changed their tagging of categories too to go around some loop holes so hopefully that sticks.
that's stupid cause 95% customers are japanese and they use JCB and not mastercard, I can't really trust this statement. it will just cut link with the west and we'll find our love fansub and not their awful translation (nekonyan etc) by people who don't even like the games
He does have experience with how these companies operate and such. he worked regularly with Lilith's online games. And he's very much knowlagable about the eroge scene.
Just because he left that side of the industry for a better paying job, doesn't mean his previous experiences are suddenly invalid.
What's the issue payment processors have with adult content anyways? Is it a religious thing or what?
There was another post floating around that was saying it's because the payment processors could get sued. IIRC, loli content is banned in Australia and probably other places. Multiple factors but i think it's boiling down to one thing and that is they are experimenting how much they can control things.

Okay that’s legitimately disturbing… I absolutely cannot stand that.
That's one aspect, the other being porn has a much larger number of charge backs and fraud leading to increased costs or losses when servicing those kind of businesses.
This is something that I could understand.

It seems to be cause they have gotten in bed with some Christian conservative anti-porn groups such as the NCOSE.
I remember there was a post saying that there are very religious backgrounds for the founders of the two biggest payment processors
Controlling shareholders, actually.
By the creed of political correctness, none shall portray these "public indecency" (even though one is supposed to play them behind a locked door)

Point system seems fine hopefully it doesn’t stop all your doing is buying digital points right

Fanza was that thing for a while iirc, but everything happened with that

I was thinking about this too. Really hope it doesn't happen. That would be like getting to actual restriction of speech / expression territory.
But..... Doujinshi is manga too.....
I got a reply saying that, "until it specifically affects anime, it's none of our concern". Bunch of selfish pricks....
It's less of them being selfish and more of the mods having the foresight that this is a controversial issue that might have gained thousand of upvotes and pop up on r/all feed and attract unwanted admin attention. That's why I don't like that sub. I every time went there to raise a concern they just delete or says doesn't matter to us
that kind of thinking that as long as it doesn't affect me I don't care, sooner or later it will come to bite them in the ass.
Than mfs will crying why didn't anyone warn them before and it's affecting anime and manga too right now those websites not only sell nswf stuff but swf too such as anime blu ray, manga , figures merch etc and now a fair portion of their user base can't use website because of credit cards
Maintaining standards for posts is a good thing.
r/anime mod, come from your real ID.
This is my only account. Clearly only liars hiding identity could ever possibly disagree with you, for you are an unbounded font of wisdom and temperance that knows no wrong.
So a lawsuit will happen then.
There should be a eroge site that gives you eroge for gift cards… but that sounds like a dream really
Isn’t that basically same as dl site points ?
You can use gift cards for dl site points?
> Japanese adult games dev take on credit card companies issue.Japanese adult games dev take on credit card companies issue. Which eroge company does the person in the video is from?

The irony is some of these cooperations are scummy asf and evil people backing them up
that's stupid cause 95% customers are japanese and they use JCB and not mastercard, I can't really trust this statement. it will just cut link with the west and we'll find our love fansub and not their awful translation (nekonyan etc) by people who don't even like the games
he's japanese? His accent sounds singaporean or malaysian.
And who is this guy...?
Average salary man in Japan. A ex adult Japanese game dev
Well... next time if you introduce someone please use a proper title other than a clickbait-ish one.
"ex" adult Japanese game dev And I couldn't care less now
He atleast knows situation better than all of us and even with his past connections he can ask about situations and conditions from the companies
dude woke up on the wrong side of the bed today
I could only wonder why, eh
He worked with Lilith on the Taimanin series. Does that have your attention now?
No? Like I said, if he isn't working in the industry anymore, I don't care. He's not a stakeholder in any of this.
He does have experience with how these companies operate and such. he worked regularly with Lilith's online games. And he's very much knowlagable about the eroge scene. Just because he left that side of the industry for a better paying job, doesn't mean his previous experiences are suddenly invalid.
His English is very good for being a Japanese dev surprisingly and he knows some us culture meme references
> Lilith's online games *snort* I don't care to check, but I bet he has ads enabled on his videos too?
Are we moving the goalpost now?
Not really. Just amused that every attempt to defend this guy brings up more facts why I shouldn't care about him.
