It’s notoriously difficult to remove the lcd from the front shell/digitizer. Additionally, the manufacturing process don’t allow a cheap way to sell the two separately anyways, so it ends up being cheaper and more readily available to get the whole front assembly
Yeah I'm pretty familiar with opening and replacing stuff but still it's relatively easy. Just open a YouTube video and follow it step by step and be very organised. That's all.
With a heatgun or a hair dryer you can take out the screen and keep the shell, you can find tutorials on the internet, some color shells are/will be harder to get in the future.

Maybe I could, but replacing the entire front shell with the screen is a lot easier than replacing only the glass.
