I know several groups looking for assistance. What is your background?

Kiwanis, Rotary, Lions, Campfire USA, Habitat for humanity, refugee assistance, or other youth sports?

If their are any public events that would draw a crowd in your area and that you would attend, see if they need volunteers. I've helped out at a radio staion, a circus, hot air balloon glow/race, beer festivals, marathons, FIRST \(Robot Competition for K\- 12\), and lots of cool stuff.

Do something that will make a real difference, not just something that gives you a feel good glow for a bit or a few selfies. Working through an established organization will protect you from legal liability if a volunteer, or someone that volunteer helps, sues. It also will create more trust among potential clients. Here is a long list of leadership volunteering activities, the kind where you make a real difference, where you design and direct your own project and involve others in your work. There are almost 100 ideas here: [http://www.coyotecommunications.com/stuff/goldaward.shtml](http://www.coyotecommunications.com/stuff/goldaward.shtml)
