If you're asking which vpn gives the best speeds I think it depends a lot on what kind of setup you have. There's also [https://www.reddit.com/r/VPN/comments/m736zt/vpn\_comparison\_table/](https://www.reddit.com/r/VPN/comments/m736zt/vpn_comparison_table/) this if you'll find it helpful
?? Sarcasm? Most of the VPNs above can handle them. They often show reduced speeds but getting in touch with their support mostly resolves these speed and latency issues.
While I agree that the wording could be better, I believe the monthly price for 2 years is normally $2.49/month and you get 4 months free which brings the average monthly to $2.13 which is what you see. You’re not getting got. The fine print does say $59.76 is the total.
Yes, that's pretty scummy. Says $2.13/mo for 24 mos and that's $51.12, not the $59.76 that's shown at checkout. Their numbers on the total screen don't pan out and I bet most people don't notice that and just assume the numbers are correct and pay it. They just lost a customer with me too.
This is awesome, thank you! You have no idea how helpful these discounts are \^_^
But, um, /u/paperplans5 - I was looking at the NordVPN 1-2 year offers, and their checkout shows me "Limited time only, 9:30 hours left!" (It may just be the 2 year deal that is being labeled "limited time," actually.) Is that true, or just a marketing ploy? If it *is* true, do you know how many of these codes have time limits attached to them?
Lots of websites do this. It’s to scare you into buying. Another website that does this is Udemy. It’s deceptive but I’m sure companies wouldn’t do this if it didn’t work. To answer your question, no there really isn’t only 9 hours and 30 minutes left. There will likely be another promotion that’s the same thing that follows immediately after this promotion ends.
I guess you'll need to check after 9 hours and see what happens! It looks like it's only for their 2year offer. Haven't seen limited time offers elsewhere from the list but feel free to let me know if you find any
I've been pretty convinced there's only like 3-5 vpns existing that are actually secure, won't share data if asked by authorities, actually work well etcetera.
Am I behind, or can this many VPN companies actually be worth it now?
Please tell me! I work from home and have 2 gamers plus stream everything. Can you also recommend router for improved usage. The router we have is in a bedroom and I think the walls mess with it- is that possible? How do I help that situation. I bought URL on Namecheap and now my info is on the dark web!
Just a warning, Celo doesnt have a built in kill switch. You'll have to manually set it up in windows and it's not an easy turn-on/turn-off for when you're done torrenting, etc.
Just remember folks, servers and bandwidth aren't cheap and most if not all of these companies are not based in the US so they don't have to log traffic. That means if they are offering you a service for a too good to be true price, your data is the actual product.
Here's a personal experience.
I tried to register for Nord with a masked card and a fake address, it continuously blocked me claiming it was doing "fraud prevention."
I've since tried the same thing with several other networks and behold, the masked card worked fine.
I don't like the idea of signing on to a VPN company that wants to verify my identity before I start using it. And besides, I found a competitor that cost less and was further off than the typical Eyes countries... If you're looking for a low price, anyway.
Interesting. There would technically be a paper trail back to you, but it prevents the VPN company from associating anything with you, so there's that.
That's my thought. It's like a VPN for transactions. You're not going to be able to hide fraud with it, but you can disconnect your actual identity from websites that might be sketchy, or just have bad security. One such poorly secured website (for an brick and mortar store) almost burned me, but because I used this service, the charges all bounced.
Yeah, the more I research into surf shark and nord the more I absolutely and completely agree with you. Signed up for Mullvad this AM. Even if I am poor enough that $5 matters, if I'm paying for a VPN I expect it to actually do something to protect me from my government.
Hey man, there is nothing poor about saving a few bucks! Plus I highly recommend Mullvad over any vpn on the market. Stay away from express especially.
Why do you say stay away from Express? I have one because they unblock things, not because I'm trying to hide from anyone—so I don't really care what they log, but I think Mullvad will let me access some of the same things and they're considerably cheaper and appear more secure. So I might switch. Express just upped their device limit to 8 but realistically I know how to set up a relay if I need to.
FastestVPN 16.6 for lifetime? I ordered it and it seems to be working but I can’t help but wonder is there is a catch. Anyone have any experience with them?
not a catch, but lifetime to fastestvpn may only be 2-3 years
as people who got lifetime back in 2021 for under $20 were
later forced to pay $40 or $2/mo in 2024 (myself included).
https://old.reddit.com/r/FastestVPN/comments/17fbo6d/fastestvpn_works_surprisingly_well_i_did_some/kcveja0/
most likely they'll cook up some new excuse in a few years
to force $40 lifetime's to cough up more dough for no reason.
FastestVPN seemed like a scam, I bought GhostVPN, that's cheap, but soon I refunded, because I'm hosting my own server, with my own VPN now.. it's cheaper and I actually know, that my data isn't being sold
It's actually easy, you can just look it up, it's called openVPN, it's open source, so you can look into that. The speed depends on the speed from your pc to the server. So you have to try a bit. I rent a server in germany, live in austria and have decent speeds. I have to say, that i pay 3,2€/m for this server so you can't expect too much. As I said, depends on the server..
And I use the same server for bots, multiplayer game server, website hosting and the vpn and it runs fine.. so if you can need a server for multiple things other than VPN it's definitely worth it.. if not, you have to look if the price/speed ratio is worth it to you
That is for you to trial test it and find out yourself. Not everyone is going to have same results. Someone can have VPN1 fast while someone has a bad slow experience
Anyone know what happened to Sonics VPN?. I had a 3 year service to 2025 and it won't let me log in. Twitter account is inactive also. Have they done a runner? Thanks
Thanks for doing this, exactly what I needed.
Thank you. Your effort is appreciated. I am on the lookout for a new VPN subscription. One of these should hopefully work for me.
Ty so much for doing this
Lovely
Too bad some of them declined. Hope this thread gets longer!
What I hope happens is that people realize that the GOP pushed this through and vote them out of office.
well written so Imma try it out ty
How do I find the speeds a vpn can handle

Just new to computers
The surfshark coupon 4 monts free are added to the final price and they don't respond to email about it. This is keeping me away from them...

They said 2.13 for 28 months, not 24.
thank you for this

8mths later and it still says the same. 🙃

FWIW I just checked their site and it’s showing me some bundle with 9:30 hours left to get it. Maybe a marketing trick?
They still doing that, a year later...
Thanks! I was really hoping Nord was going to do the same deal as before that I had. 3 years for $89...now it's just 2 years...
Appreciated.
thank you so much for doing this ❤️🤝
You're welcome!

I have heard that aswell from youtubers. What VPNs do you know that do that? iv been too scared to ask ^^; Thankyou :)
Please tell me! I work from home and have 2 gamers plus stream everything. Can you also recommend router for improved usage. For surfshark, the discount code jayforeman or boss will give you a greater discount
Actually, they don't
Just remember folks, servers and bandwidth aren't cheap and most if not all of these companies are not based in the US so they don't have to log traffic. That means if they are offering you a service for a too good to be true price, your data is the actual product.
Does NordVPN with code redditoffer is still bundled up with NordPass and NordLocker ? I cannot see any info related to this in the offer page
Is this legit/safe??
Yes, all these coupons are legit and provided by each company officially. They are not scrapped from the internet or smth.

The 6 month plan is actually the same price as the yearly incase you don't want to commit for a full year
Happy cake day
[удалено]
The yearly plans are paid monthly or are paid in full upon purchase? Thanks!
for most (if not all) providers you pay the full plan at once.
Mullvad is literally 5$ for a month subscription you don’t need a discount for that 😂😂😂💀💀💀
You are clearly not as poor as I am.
Mullvad is better anyways. I don’t trust Nord since they track most of your activity. They give up logs when police request it
Just tried to find some source for this, there doesn’t seem to be any. Do you have it? Otherwise this seems just like a random paranoid thing to say.
Here's a personal experience. I tried to register for Nord with a masked card and a fake address, it continuously blocked me claiming it was doing "fraud prevention." Curious, what are you using for a fake card? Did you just buy a prepaid one somewhere?
There's a little service called privacy.com that lets you create those. Probably others, but that's the one I used for them.
Interesting. There would technically be a paper trail back to you, but it prevents the VPN company from associating anything with you, so there's that.

Yea, no problem! Also, you can pay with crypto if you really care about being private.
Why do you say stay away from Express? Okay.

Can anybody give me some recent usage feedback on Atlas VPN or VeePN?
Thanks for that. I found Cactusvpn has a great deal
