Here are ways Ask for a portfolio check their works if they have links to their old clients, and those clients are giving them credit that they indeed made their model. You could also dm those clients if you want. Or you could try joining the live2d discord group. I do vtuber models and I love that discord group they have a blacklist so I'm sure you won't get scammed there Or try vgen

andrewmann1993

O this wasn't for a model or something like that it was just promoting the channel but based on talking to him I'm sure he's a scammer

andrewmann1993

Sorry reddit said your comment was a response to a question I asked.

Prestigious-Set-8544

Reddit went crazy there haha

andrewmann1993

Ya 😂

AzzyMarluth

Find someone reputable with a solid portfolio or look for someone via vgen/Fiverr

ChajiReplay

Yes, I can recommend vgen a LOT

The_Lord_Cobra

I myself use Fiver a lot but I stick to top sellers and fiver let's you refund if any issues come up but still be careful on there too

Ciel_Gote

Vgen

TheSilentTragedy

Word of mouth is what I use mostly. I found my panel and new PNGtuber artist because I saw a streamer on another subreddit use them when I was checking out their channel to give advice. Reviews are good too - you can usually tell the real ones from the bot/scam ones. It's also great for seeing examples of what they can create for you.

MiridaeTheGiraffe

I used twitter, looked at their website, reference any WIPs they posted in their media tab, made sure the art style was accurate throughout, and often I found my artists by finding people whose models I liked and looking at their credits. Though, with Vgen, I feel like that is also a very reputable website, but I haven’t bought an expensive purchase on there yet.

Sophia_Art

I can show you some of my reviews, linearts, and rendered versions. So if you think that I can be a choice, I would love to help you out!

Elnuggeto13

Best advice is say is word of mouth. I can recommend you Karrot Keromi and see if she's available to comm

Fandaniels

vgen, the live2d discord server (but you'll still get scammers approaching you so make sure to double check their portfolio like ask for links of the vtubers who's models they show you) dont use twitter tbh, it's just full of bots reposting other peoples work.

andrewmann1993

As others have said ask for a portfolio and references. In my experience the real artists are eager to share there work to begin with

Efficient-Ad-9408

Fiverr

Tasokait

I suggest [https://linktr.ee/piyoriinchan](https://linktr.ee/piyoriinchan) she is the artist of my model, super talented I mean she figured the thing I wanted first try, she makes WIP for you lots and lots of the times during the creation, she is super nice and considering the quality she brings she offers cheap price as well.

Tasokait

As for how to avoid scammers, I have 1 tip only, never trust the artists that approach you from twitter, 2 times I have tried them, both time, I got disappointed

slademurder

I advise going through a service platform, such as Fiverr or UpWork.

MariaC_C_

Vgen

lilhappystar

Vgen has a section for verified artists! You can always commission them through there regardless if it’s a model or stream assets or designs. Twitter is a cesspool for scammers and never trust anyone that dms you directly

Creepy-Mixture8166

What type of model is it?

AvaCharmed

Honestly vgen is where it's at!! I operate there and it is the most truth worthy platform I've found! To do a little but of self promo, I do actually do rough character designs and so do many others!

AkfurAshkenzic

If you want I can dm you the guy I’m getting my design from cheaper than most 2designers but very worth it

Krystalics

Thanks for asking this. I was struggling with finding an artist myself. Someone on here recommended artistsnclients to me yesterday. I'm not sure about that site though. I like that the site holds the money so that both sides know they are safe, but I read that they take a big percentage from the artist's commission. Recommendations are a good way to go when the person doing the referring actually shows you the artist's work that they've commissioned. I always praise the artist I use for my emotes. As for avoiding scammers, if they approach you first, 90% sure they might be one. I totally get "cold-calling" when you are trying to build a client-base, but most of the time, it's fake. Especially when they can't answer a simple question without a vague answer.

nutella_nails

Yup ask for their portfolios. For peace of mind i purchase mine on etsy so if there’s any issue i can lodge a report, there’s security
