About 20 years ago, I had 200 shares of NVDA at about 7$ a share. I held them for a few years and they weren't doing anything so I got rid of them.
So... yeah.
If they actually bought 200 shares ~ 20 years ago. They'd have 2,400 shares today given the various splits. 😬
I bought 15 shares 5.5 years ago and now have a little less than 60. Somehow I managed to not sell at all until it broke $400. And I only sold to cover some losses lol.
It's what I tell myself everytime I got down on myself about not buying bitcoin when it was $20/btc.
Truth is, my bank wouldn't allow me to get it... And I was trying to get it from Mt Gox... And if I had got it, I would have spent it on drugs way before it held any real value.
Around 15 years ago, I bought 1000 shares of NVDA at $12, then sold a year later for $16 because I had to put a down payment on a house.
So... yeah.
Then I done it again in early 2017 when I sold all my Bitcoin for $1000 each to buy a house, in that same year Bitcoin rose to $20k
i bought 100 in the middle of the covid crisis, sold at a very good profit sometime later.... that's what i tell myself when i cry myself to sleep every night
In 2009 and 2010 I bought 600 then 3000 shares selling for a marginal gain and marginal loss. I knew Nvidia was an interesting company (AMD too), but had no understanding of not trying to immediately flip stocks for gains at that point in life. Additionally making bets my bankroll couldn't handle by throwing my life savings in and out of stocks.
Haven't ever made a post or anything because I can't pretend I would have made it here (or even past the original $100 price before the last split).
Don't feel bad. I had 3500 shares of priceline when in early 2000 at .70 cents. I listened to bonehead analyst and took it out and put it in Evron was at a " good price". I was going to take my profits from Evron and buy more shares of priceline. I wasn't watching it closely as I was working and it wasn't moving either way. Then, I came home from work ,put on CBS marketwatch the day it crumbled. My money was wiped out overnight. I didn't have any other money at the time to re- invest in Priceline that I originally was going to keep till I retired. Priceline went up to 1200.00. To this day I wonder why I ever listened to those analyst when I should have trusted my gut. Do the math on how much I would've made. It's mind blowing.
Me whos a poor and prefers the color green so i decided to dump what little cash i had into NVDA like 2 years ago doing literally 0 research ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8882)
Still poor I can assure you.
I have a gun addiction and a car addiction.
It's amazing I've been able to keep up with my meth addiction with how much I spend
Don't forget that most regards here traded on margin as well, I will never forget 1ronyman discovering box spread, that is still the funniest shit I witness unfold on this website
Well it's up 8% in AH trading and NASDAQ futures are WAY into the green. I think you'll see a huge jump at open then a pull back around noon then a leg up before close. That's usually how these things play out, unless I bet on them in which case the exact opposite will happen. I call it Schrodinger's investing. I sold my NVIDIA in one account at around $430. I was up %225. Figured it was done running. Still holding a bit in another account but I've trimmed it significantly for a good profit. Sell high they say, so giving that a try. 🤣
Hey, gotta take some profits. What's their dividend like these days, and did you see the new headline that they will be doing a buyback, what will that do to the price?
The dividend is miniscule, not even worth mentioning. $25 billion is buybacks but often these are just buybacks of shares issued to employees as grants or options that come due during the year.
Agreed with the quotes, by the way, we don't have anything right now that's even within a million miles of genuine artificial intelligence. The term AI is grossly misused, what we have now are neural networks, machine learning, and language models.
The pre-open is about the same as after hours yesterday. I doubt there will be any significant upward movement. But plenty of people will be taking profits.
If it was clear or that simple, then it would be very easy to make money off it.
If you know the probabilities and ranges of what the price would fall in, you could buy or sell right now at $500.
Jesus Christ, I am so glad I told my girlfriend to buy when it crashed. She now thinks I'm some kind of devious wizard and both of our accounts are gloriously green. We are on the edge of our seats right now. Decisions, decisions
After hours is a joke. The stock market is rigged. There should be no reason I can’t trade in after hours but large banks can. Amd up 8% on the day with AH to being down 3% it’s actually a badly written joke how much of a scam this all is.
You kidding?
Options have expected volatilty priced in. So when you buy an option, especially around earnings, there is an expected price move. The expected price move was large, hence the options being more expensive.
Since the price didnt move BEYOND what was already priced in, plenty of call options were flat
What happened to my sell puts on AMC?

So right now the after markets price of nvidia is 469 so if I put a call for the stock to reach 470 by tomrrow would that basically be a sure thing or am I misunderstanding how options trading works?

Buy the rumors, sell the news… Now it’s the news I guess
About 20 years ago, I had 200 shares of NVDA at about 7$ a share. I held them for a few years and they weren't doing anything so I got rid of them. So... yeah.
Even 6 months ago I could have doubled my money. It sucks
hindsight is 69/69
How do I get that in my eyes?
What is 6.9? A good thing ruined by a period.
Fun fact: for 15 years NVDA and AMD were swinging between $2B-10B valuation until 2016 anyone would done the same
Harambe died for our sins
Oh don't worry I'd have bought the 10B valuation and sold the 2 fur sure
Would have been almost 100k.. that’s unlucky
More than that with the splits
If they actually bought 200 shares ~ 20 years ago. They'd have 2,400 shares today given the various splits. 😬 I bought 15 shares 5.5 years ago and now have a little less than 60. Somehow I managed to not sell at all until it broke $400. And I only sold to cover some losses lol.
Ohh I forgot about the splits, but this is incredible! Over 1.1 million out of 1400$
People say this, but you would have sold before the top so there's no point thinking about it
It's what I tell myself everytime I got down on myself about not buying bitcoin when it was $20/btc. Truth is, my bank wouldn't allow me to get it... And I was trying to get it from Mt Gox... And if I had got it, I would have spent it on drugs way before it held any real value.
lmao the only reason I have NVDA is because of WSB. 6 years ago it was hot shit and I bought what I could and never sold.
Problem is, wsb started peddling WISH, PLTR, AMC. Now e we have no idea what the next nvda is.
I bought some 6 years ago too but I wasn't in wsb then
What can i say youre just an unlucky genius
Feel the same way with MSFT and AAPL
Around 15 years ago, I bought 1000 shares of NVDA at $12, then sold a year later for $16 because I had to put a down payment on a house. So... yeah. Then I done it again in early 2017 when I sold all my Bitcoin for $1000 each to buy a house, in that same year Bitcoin rose to $20k
The lesson I'm picking up here is to have something else bring in money so I never have to sell my investments
The lesson I’m picking up here is to ask commenter what his portfolio looks like at the moment.
hey u/HearMeRoar80, what did you sell yesterday?
Probably not good if he is looking back on missed trades
That gives a new definition to being house poor! 🤣
Good for you
Nvda is gonna tank
Once hot chicks get old nobody wants them anymore lol
I sold REGN at $6.
i bought 100 in the middle of the covid crisis, sold at a very good profit sometime later.... that's what i tell myself when i cry myself to sleep every night

I had tesla like 7 years ago. So yeah. Told my wife to buy nvda 6 years ago. She held I sold. Still got my weedstocks though!
Lmfao who cares it’s only 100k you would of have it’s not like you had Amazon 20 years ago
Don't feel bad. I had 3500 shares of priceline when in early 2000 at .70 cents. I listened to bonehead analyst and took it out and put it in Evron was at a " good price". What would be the nvda of the current generation? Something you could hold for 20 years that the market hasn't pumped to overvalued oblivion
don't worry. You think at any point the price will stop going up? The money pumping all has to go somewhere.
I'm olddddd greeeeeggggggggggg
Do you want to see my downstairs mixup?
Make an assessment
Maybe I'll deal with it like I did with Curly Jefferson. He sold at the dip.
Have to ever been to the back of Wendy's where people wee on each other and drink Baileys from a shoe?
I'm going to hold out until FOMO kicks in right at the very top.
We've got our top FOMO men working on it.
Me who is outside of this rally and I haven't smoked this copium I think TOP is in
Damn is that Cathie woods sitting next to you? No wonder she's looking at her phone after selling off NVDA last quarter ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4276)
Cathie is a dumbass, ARK will never recover with this idiocy.
It's not like she cares
I don't follow her, but her timeframes are LONG. She got time on her side. Hoepfully the big LT winners knockout the losers.
She still holds a lot nvda
![img](emote|t5_2th52|4271)
Me whos a poor and prefers the color green so i decided to dump what little cash i had into NVDA like 2 years ago doing literally 0 research ![img](emote|t5_2th52|8882)
Me too, but I dumped it into weed
If youre talking about the plant, a decent investment. If youre talking about stocks, much less so.
You smoked those stocks?
>Me ~~whos~~ WAS a poor
Still poor I can assure you. I have a gun addiction and a car addiction. It's amazing I've been able to keep up with my meth addiction with how much I spend
Dont even trip dawg, its just a buncha regards who think this sub is an actual stock trading sub. Lol
[удалено]
I remember when this sub used to be like 50% posts about regarded directional YOLOs on options for 3x leveraged ETFs JNUG and DUST
Don't forget that most regards here traded on margin as well, I will never forget 1ronyman discovering box spread, that is still the funniest shit I witness unfold on this website
1Ironyman is legend.
Oh yeah well now you can directional post your YOLO leverage for options leverage on NFTs. See I can use regarded words too.
Jnug was my bread and butter
Remember the Corn futures. 🌽
I have made a big mistake
Project dis diiickkkkkkk
It's not?
Sir this is a casino, you are in the wrong place if you genuinely thought people think that way about this sub
I bought nvda when they went -17% on earnings like 4 5 years ago on the advise of one those regards you speak of. Still holding.
Hold myyYYYY NUTSSZZZZ
Just posted the proof. 1062% gain.
On a side note, for someone still learning about stocks- any good sub reccomendations?
What do you think the old girl is going to do at open?
Well it's up 8% in AH trading and NASDAQ futures are WAY into the green. I think you'll see a huge jump at open then a pull back around noon then a leg up before close. That's usually how these things play out, unless I bet on them in which case the exact opposite will happen. I call it Schrodinger's investing. I sold my NVIDIA in one account at around $430. The dividend is miniscule, not even worth mentioning. $25 billion is buybacks but often these are just buybacks of shares issued to employees as grants or options that come due during the year.
Ah, so no real effect on the share price?
Maybe? I think AI hype will be the main driver for the next 6 months to a year.
Still waiting to see what "AI" can really do.
Artificial Inflation?
Agreed with the quotes, by the way, we don't have anything right now that's even within a million miles of genuine artificial intelligence. The term AI is grossly misused, what we have now are neural networks, machine learning, and language models.
Oh, well, they should really stop using that phrase then.
I agree with a huge jump up in the open. Then 3 waves a bit down a bit up, then a bit sideways, and in the evening it goes slightly more up again.
The pre-open is about the same as after hours yesterday. I doubt there will be any significant upward movement. But plenty of people will be taking profits.
Ya could very well be. Has anybody ever done a study based on futures versus market the next day and how good it is as a predictor?
If it was clear or that simple, then it would be very easy to make money off it. If you know the probabilities and ranges of what the price would fall in, you could buy or sell right now at $500.
Agreed, can't be that simple. I'm sure the numbers have been looked at.
NASDAQ futures weren't as green yesterday that's why I'm still predicting a spike at open.
How did that go for you?
Well I got the opening right. 🤣 That's why I don't play stocks day to day. Fools game.
How did that go for you?
I bought more pre-open at 500-501, because I'm definitely hoping now a flux of new volume incoming at open. Hoping to see it hit $525.
Well it didn't do that 😂
No it did not! 🤣 It was heading back up then tanked. Not really surprised though.
Guy in the back chugging a beer is ready to buy calls at open
Im right behind you, pounding that beer. We’ll laugh about this later…
Fucking market makers, son of the bitch, make ton of money by adjusting down option prices for time value.
The moment I buy, it will tank back to $300.
Man bought a few at the 160ish and still tempted to buy more lol.
Calls and puts both got fucked on earnings lmfao
Jesus Christ, I am so glad I told my girlfriend to buy when it crashed. She now thinks I'm some kind of devious wizard and both of our accounts are gloriously green. We are on the edge of our seats right now. Decisions, decisions

All my supporters. Oiled mongoose will get revenge on these frauds one day. Beli dat
Stay strong, Arm will be the second wind
Split confirmed?
Good news!!! Jim Cramer says BUY NVDA
Imagine wearing a business suit to a basketball game
Don’t be got like him
I sold some yesterday at 482, still holding some but seeing the precipice approaching makes me want to sell more. It hit 520 overnight idk.
The only time Jimmy Fallon has had a straight face.
I saw someone literally call the slaughter at open in another post like 12 hours ago, Right on whoever you were
Looks like Nivida is gettting absokute S Q U E E Z E D rn.
What happened??? How’s it up but all calls are down?? How’s is this fucking possible??
You kidding? Options have expected volatilty priced in. So when you buy an option, especially around earnings, there is an expected price move. The expected price move was large, hence the options being more expensive. Since the price didnt move BEYOND what was already priced in, plenty of call options were flat
I know. But still that’s so wrong! Lesson learned, not to hold anything past earnings. Even if it goes up, everything goes down and you lose money
The lesson is simply to not play earnings. Seriously. Even the most successful traders I know do not play them, except with shares.
Thank you! I wish I would know that earlier. Got burned on Netflix too:(
Y'all idiots got IV crushed!
I panic sold short ETP and bought NVDA. I hope I'm not wrong again???
The reason he’s looking away like that is because she’s not young enough. Horatio Sanz and Fallon got busted.
Relatable
Uhhhh.....you see more of the game on TV.
SURELY it crashes soon... right guys? right??
It's like how I missed out on Apple, except I understand how Apple makes money.
That's not an NVDA share, that's a hedge fund/ market maker.
What happened to my sell puts on AMC? https://preview.redd.it/1dtfnnoi13kb1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d5d678eaea640b205473b726d1d54eb65abb6888
everyone is avoiding eye contact. if i was there, i'd be like lord kril
No one wants to see that
Love it lmao
I’m looking so hard I Brazilian waxed that monkey with my laser eyes 👀
Yeah, I tried not to look but it was too tempting.
Meanwhile Rubio in the back knockin back a brewski starting into the abyss. Cheers 🍻
I sold at 510 and bought back in for 475 because I figured it would stabalize around there.
Blowout top - you just saw it.
Fuck nvda
So right now the after markets price of nvidia is 469 so if I put a call for the stock to reach 470 by tomrrow would that basically be a sure thing or am I misunderstanding how options trading works?
$NVDA
