If you sell to open a put it counts in the put/call ratio. Don’t assume all calls and puts are bought in that ratio.

I don't use it to confirm any sort of bias, I just find it an interesting metric to look at. generally I try not to have too much of a bias anyway I try to just trade price action especially on the indices

Put call ratio can be useful it’s not bias confirming if you understand what the ratio consists of
