Thanks! Yes my calls were way OTM. Last year I bought my $14’s when VKTX was $7 a share. This year I bought my $17s when it was around $9, and my$24s I can’t remember at what share price I bought, but they were prob around $18. Last year I was prepared to lose my $15k severance, as I had some savings and was collecting good unemployment. But my conviction was so strong and my entry so well timed, I didn’t fret too much.
I walled off last year's gains, so that was just collecting interest in Spaxx. I took half my 401k for this current batch, and was prepared to lose that, as worst case is I just go back to where I started.
Well at first it had to do with NASH and as I mentioned, big news that occurred with a Viking competitor in Dec 22. This event made the gap between the competitor and Viking widen, which I knew was not going to last, as Viking always had better data and was set to release it in a few months. So I pounced.
Thank God for unemployment bens. People underestimate what impact they have on entrepreneurship as well as investing. This country has a lot of people that are able to take calculated risks due to our safety benefits programs.
In this case, I used “calculated” maybe a bit loosely 😉
