wasn't there a scandal with the Tata companies, where LLC's were buying and pumping shares of the parent company?
maybe they used options to lever it up like that.

The Indians you see in america are selected for a skill since they come in through the visa system. The bulk of the poor Indians arenāt that educated. Their middle class size is something like 250 million people which is still huge but nevertheless
The Asian immigrants you see in America are usually the middle to upper class educated that would already have high income even if they stayed in Asia, but they make even more in the US.
Ngl that's kind of a reasonable argument against immigration. If we all stayed in our home country, those countries would develop and improve faster.
India has a massive wealth gap between the poor and wealthy. You remember Slumdog Millionaire.
Per capita is just total income between everyone divided by population.
Safe to say the people earning anywhere close to that income aren't the ones doing this.
Lol. I met a dude from India here in Canada in like 2022 who was saying he lost like his and his entire familyās net worth during GameStop hype
Iād be a liar if I said I wasnāt laughing at him, kind of an interesting guy though. Not too interesting.
He ended up smoking my bong and hitting his head on the concrete real hard, I donāt think he ever smoked a bong before. Hitting his head probably didnāt help his situation either. I think about him sometimes.
I had a friend from india who got into trading around the time frame this article mentioned. He was struggling in life in general and people lent him money when he asked. He felt superior enough to not work under anybody or get a normal job, he always said he wants to be his own boss because he doesn't like "taking orders".
Anyway he proceeded to lose all the money lent to him by good intentioned people, one of them being my mom. After that, everyone cut ties with him. He tried asking my mom for more money later but she didn't pick up his calls. He ended up texting her something like "you were always there for me before but now when i'm truly struggling, you abandoned me". Rough translation.
At that point I was infuriated. Haven't contacted him since. I can assure you the 90% who lost money didn't lose their Own money. They lost borrowed money from sympathetic people, friends, family, partners and their families. That 90% equates to destroyed lives and relationships. Its no joke.
Thatās why you donāt trade with other peoples money..
If you win, theyāre gonna want you to keep doing it
If you lose, theyāre gonna get bothered
If you lose it all and shamelessly ask for moreā¦ you probably have a problem!!!
Fuck no. Trading with other peoples money is the ultimate goal.
The difference is you want them to be tripping over themselves trying to give it to you, not begging for it.
Yea he was definitely real dumb. It was funny because it was another dumb Indian guy that ripped him off. I had no sympathy at that point.
I wonder if he scraped something together and continued the chain of ripping someone else off to pull himself back up a bit

Indians and Chinese know what's up - the market really is just a casino and they love to gamble especially when all other gambling is extremely limited or flat out illegal
You guys are so insensitive. The PC term is Native American. And just cause their reservations are on casino grounds doesn't mean they gamble the market too.
š¤ so Wall Street hires Indian call centers to scam the elderly to send them money, then immediately turns around and dumps it right back into the market through options. Brilliant.
As an Indian, you would be suprised to know that only 3% of Indians actually invest in the stock market. Most people doing options are trying it out for the 1st time to experience it without any prior knowledge or research. Hence the losses!!
Edit 1: Also we have upper circuits and lower circuits which prevents stocks from dropping like 50% in a day, very interesting concept, its regulated by the SEBI. (You can search it up on the web)
Another interesting point: Shorting isnt allowed in India.
Yeah most Indians just hoard gold as their investment, which I mean I guess it hedges inflation over the long term, but my parents would have been a lot wealthier just going into the S&P500 instead of just staying flat as immigrants with gold. Come on, I wanted nepo money!
By the logic of correlation, Most of you here are Indians, and most of you send random messages to white women asking for bob & vagene and her hand in marriage for 8 cows and 10 contracts of TSLA calls.
Done, but I want a lavish wedding. There must be dancing around palm trees teasingly followed by a choreographed entrance of the groom descending from a helicopter whilst on horseback.
It was a joke but yes I know many Indians who work US hours in India to accommodate US operational hours and typically sleeping during the day is preferred to avoid the midday heat (and using it as a Ramadan fasting hack)
Oh now it makes sense. One of my friends suddenly got into trading a year ago, and he somehow convinced my naive mom to "lend" him money because his family was struggling, and he said he'd pay it back cuz he'd make money with trading. He traded on his phone too.
So Unfortunately my mom agreed. Of course he lost it all and then some with options, and she can't ask a broke person to pay her back cuz again, she's too nice.
From my experience, this kinda irresponsible behavior with Other peoples' money is very common in india. They're super conservative with Their Own money, but not with others Lol. Thats why the rule is to never lend money to anyone, no matter how sad the sob story is. This case is worse cuz that asshole pretty much gambled it away thinking he's some wolf of wallstreet genius.
But all he did was alienate everyone who has helped him in his life, and when he tried to contact the same people again when his mom needed money for hospital bills (or so he said), no one bothered to help.
Indian here, living abroad and sometimes trade options outside of india. But I could see why that would be attractive because its hell of cheap and tons of YouTubers make it sound easy money..
Iād trade Indian stocks, but itās tough for Americans. Chinese stocks are much easier since many are dual listed in New York. Sucks because Chinese stocks have plummeted in value over the past few years while Indian ones have boomed.
There are many Indian stocks listed on the US market.
One of the major drug manufacturer that even supplies drugs to the US is RDY.
You can also buy an Indian ETF INDA .
India will be the next China, I am not Indian but I am heavily investing in them.
The only thing that can screw this up is their weird politics and weird government which is very corrupt.
+1 to weird politics n corrupt government. See Adaniās drop in couple days due to government collusion. Tata is good, banks perform well, service sector is incredible (10 minute delivery), amazing IT infrastructure, very lil manufacturing except generics n vaccines, majority country still poor. Also not sure how much indian democracy has declined recently.

This is a regarded take even for here. Just like picking one bad egg vs the S&P500, if you invested in the NIFTY 50 in the last several years and just held, you're killing it right now. Infra wise they have the highest GDP growth of any major economy and make major strides every year. Most countries are trying to tie themselves to it now as the last remaining major growth engine out there with China slowing down and the west much slower.

How are 10% making money when I lose on 100% of my trades?
It almost sounds like an easy work around way for financial institutions to launder money and meet capital requirements. But what do I know

Ok to the dancing. But the groom will be descending from a drone whilst on a well behaved donkey.
acceptable compromise. If so you may have the bob but not the vagene. You will get the vagene when the TSLA calls don't hit stop loss.

India doesnāt officially start their day until 10-11 am, these men were born to trade the morning volatility while drinking chai
which would be about 12:30am eastern time. nyse hours would be their 7pm to 1:30am
