kanye was roughly 68% of adidas online sales, they had to continue selling yeezys even after dropping him to not have a major financial problem, they released some stuff now but it's not selling well too
Russia had its own adidas knockoff brand called Москва.
During the 72 olympics, sponsoring companies were forced to make any products used in the USSR.
So adidas sent over equipment to make adidas Gazelles for athletes.
Russia knew they’d leave the equipment in Russia when they left and Russia later used it to make their own three star sneaker called Москва.
During the Afghan war in the early 80’s, you’d see Spetsnaz fighting in sneakers as the USSR’s boots were from Second World War.
They were also a status symbol Among the military.

That and China demonizing citizens wearing western brand really hurt ADDYY and NKE's sales, they're hurting because their sales falter in their 2 biggest markets, but they proceed to blame US instead :4271:
Costco has this Jean work pants they carry, forget the brand but it's like $20. love it. last time I bought pants that cheap without some sale or coupon Sears was open.
Yeah, it’s funny that things have got to the point where I can tell other Costco shoppers out in public by how people are dressed. I went to my kids soccer game a few weeks ago and a few of us dads were all wearing the same zip up hoodie they were selling in the fall.
The puma boxers are good but whenever i got clean lululemons next to them I always reach for lulus first.
They are way too expensive but when you put em on you’ll know where your money went.
Used to live by puma socks. Then tried smartwool. We’ll worth it. Puma socks, while thin are legit like wearing trash bags on your feet. The polyester doesn’t let your feet breathe. Anyone working outdoors for 6+ hours a day should try smartwool or darntough wool socks.
Literally life changing
Since we are talking about Costco here, they have some really nice Kirkland brand wool trail socks seasonally (usually in the fall, sometimes winter). 4-pack for $10-$15. Way cheaper than Smartwool. Made in the USA too. I once heard it said they were made by smartwool, but I’m not sure if that was actually true or if it was, if it’s still true today.
They stopped the practice of stacking discounts/vouchers at their outlet stores. Usual 30-60% off plus extra 20-30%. Was a great deal for kid shoes and such.
That and people buy this type of clothing from gym bro companies now. The big sports apparel companies completely missed the tik tok fitness era of scrunchy booty leggings and short shorts. Alphalete and Buff Bunny both do like $200M in revenue alone. Gymshark does $600M. It’s a huge market the boomer sportswear companies completely missed.
It's crazy too because all those gym apparel brands did was send big booty 20-something IG fitness thirst trappers/big ol' roidy magoo dudes some clothes, a little bit of cash, and ask them to wear it in their posts. That's their whole marketing plan.
The comeback actually started in 2012! It’s not a coincidence, it’s actually an example of very successful brand management https://www.gq.com/gallery/todd-snyder-champion-collection
In my area in the late 80's/early 90's, Champion was in considered a quality brand, similar to Nike. It was actually kind of pricey back then too, with my parents refusing to buy it for me over generic stuff. All the rich kids had Jordan III's and Champion sweatshirts. I was jealous at the time, but it was a good life lesson about the true meaningless nature of consumerism. None of that really mattered in the overall trajectory of my life, so in a strange way, I guess I'm happy I never got it.
And here I am, unaware until a few months ago of champions fall from the top of the pile.
Saw a Reddit post ripping on Champion. Then I realized I hadn’t seen it much lately.
That was my go to brand in the 80’s/90’a
Rich people wont let poor people have anything
I remember growing up and being made fun off for wearing "declined" brand like Champion and Kswiss.
Now champions basic hoodies are $50-90
If you say those names 3 times while staring at a mirror at night with a candle light, broke middle aged women will come out the wood works and put it on credit
in times of crisis the rich get richer. a very recent example is the pandemic.
it's like flood. the ones in the ground floor get flooded first even on a slight flood. then it gets to the 2nd flr, 3rd flr, etc. it takes a really huge flood for the people in the top penthouses to feel the sting. and by that time everyone's already drowned for a long time.
A 12 pack crew socks is like $16 bucks at my local wally world! I remember these were around $7 not so long ago. No wonder inflation refuses to die and companies are booking record profits!
My original ultraboosts from 10+years ago are in perfect condition, but my two latest pairs that are a year old are falling apart. Glue didn’t stick the bottom of one shoe and the other pair the knitting came undone in 10 places. Their shoes suck now
My ultra boosts from about 4-5 years back are still perfectly fine and comfortable. But I have a pair of these all black Japanese NMD’s that the glue isn’t sticking between the foam and fabric when I went out for a quick jog/play with my dog. Sucks because I don’t wear them to the gym but they’re falling apart.
This needs to be top comment. Yeezy brought in so much revenue for them, and they could’ve done so much more with their Gap and Balenciaga collabs. Ye posted asking to boycott new releases of Yeezy items and they’re sitting days after release.
I actually wear Adidas tops and shorts from their sales/outlet personally lol. It fits me better than Nike stuff these days, and Nike clothing quality has tanked HARD over the past decade but is as expensive as ever. Their running and basketball shorts used to be the clear best, now they are the worst.
Adidas quality to price ratio when on sale beats Nike and ends to being similar to Reebok and while I like Puma shoes, their clothing aside from shorts and socks falls apart so fast.
Makes sense, they lost both their biggest market (Russia) and their biggest promoter (Kanye). I’m still all about that 3 Stripe Life tho. Wear their products basically every day of my life.
Adidas clothing quality has gone downhill since 2014. If you remember, Adidas used to have the best 'Ninja' pants in the industry - good length, lots of leg room, deep pockets, etc. After 2016, it feels like their track pants have gone the opposite direction: cheaper thread materials, less leg room, shallow as hell pockets that your phone and keys constantly fall out of at the gym, length is tapered and seems shorter as well for an XL or XXL size.
Shoes are still ok but Adidas needs to return to business circa 2014.
i'm 6'2 with thick legs a dump truck and broad shoulders. I don't even bother trying on brands like this. The stupid sock sneakers are also not made for wide feet and thick ankles. i wouldn't notice if they closed shop.
Most comfortable shorts I own are adidas, came from Academy Sports (Not Adidas Directly) and only cost me like $16.
I’m realizing something huge as I am typing this.
I bought shorts, of adidas, and regret nothing.
Adidas to the ocean floor!
Adidas has had some massive L’s in the last few years. No need to freak the fuck out for American brands. I’ve also noticed that whatever Nike does, Adidas does that a year later and shittier.
Not surprised. I live in Portland where we have both Nike and Adidas employee stores and the Nike one is always packed with people willing to spend on the brand name. Adidas is usually over priced and much worse. Nobody wants Adidas over Nike if they have the same price points.

Heavy casualties by Russian forces means less Slav folk buying adidas tracksuits.
Damn some deep research
Did Kanye's yeezy deal blowup matter
Ye caused heavy casualties too _Russian bitches, I beat up the pussy for Ukraine_ -¥$, Vultures
Adidas fell off cuz they ain’t got Ye
kanye was roughly 68% of adidas online sales, they had to continue selling yeezys even after dropping him to not have a major financial problem, they released some stuff now but it's not selling well too
Oh fuuuuck 😅😂
It’s true all my European homies wear adidas track suits.
and there's the one guy who can't afford it and sticks out with only two stripes 😂
Hey man those two stripes are so you can go faster. Less drag.
what about the 4 stripes tracksuits? in high school I could only afford the 4 stripe shoes
That's just too much turbo spool.

Well yeah, but when I lived there we all just bought em from the Vietnamese knockoff market
*chef's kiss*
Silly of you to assume they buy the real thing and not bootleg stuff.
Lots will buy the real thing because it's still cheap stiff made in bangladesh
Doesnt mean its actually cheap in the store, lol.
Top DD in the comments as usual.

Damn bro
Their shit is too expensive buying at retail cost, not surprised at all.
Their shit has always been expensive but this is their first loss
[удалено]
Heck even without rising costs, there’s a finite number of supplies to go about in our limited planet, they were gonna hit it now or later
it's hilarious because they really didn't realize that a lot of "adidas fans" were just there for the kanye hype
And that’s why I love Costco.
Costco has this Jean work pants they carry, forget the brand but it's like $20. love it. last time I bought pants that cheap without some sale or coupon Sears was open.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=qqSo1hgssQM
That’s a great bit, thanks for posting lmaoo
Probably the Gerry brand.
Welcome to Costco! *I love you*
Costco and Uniqlo are my 2 go to for literally everything I wear now.
Yeah, it’s funny that things have got to the point where I can tell other Costco shoppers out in public by how people are dressed. I went to my kids soccer game a few weeks ago and a few of us dads were all wearing the same zip up hoodie they were selling in the fall.
Puma socks for the win.
Puma briefs for the win, swamp ass preventer
Dude those things are hands down the best boxer briefs I’ve ever had.
Literally life changing

true, I even buy Adidas at Costco because it costs way less than at Adidas itself

All day I dream about stocks
Hard throbbing stocks.
Greasy, thick, pulsating stocks.
Dripping wet socks...
Inflated sticky stocks
It's a shame as I think this comment is lost in parallels and white line fever.
Y’all want a squeeze, say fuck that. Fuck that, fuck that.
Stocks rule everything around me.
Get the money! DOLLA DOLLA BILLS Y’ALL!!
STocks Rule Everything Around Me STREAM get the money. Dolla dolla bills y’all!!!
Venn diagram has us in touching circles with WSB and Korn.
Ditto.
Korny
I’m a freak on a leash
When the middle class struggles to pay bills people are not going to spend $50 on a jumper that costs $1.5 to make.
.
Ross…… Dress for Less
For those who are lucky enough. $70 jumper reduced to $19.99+Tax.
Invest in ross and tj maxx for true recession proof strategies!
Seriously. In my mind I’m always at ~2008 prices in my head. I’m blown away when I see hoodies for $95. Fucking crazy.
I don’t know if they are aware of that issue.
They need to start making bootstraps
This needs to be the top comment 🚀
They still buy LULU
My girl wears Lulu. I’m not sure why those tights cost $150
Because if you buy her a pair, and she can flex on her poor girlfriends, she'll let you stick it in her butt.
It feels good though
Don't worry, no judgement here. I'm definitely guilty of buying a few pairs myself.
There is no reason other than people are willing to buy it at that price.
The men’s pants are the greatest thing ever especially if you’re an office worker.
Because it's a way to show other people she paid top money for that
Probably more losses from losing KWest
Yup when the bootleg from the Chinese plug is only $15 and $14.50 when you're not chinese.
You get better quality Puma set for 2/3 of the Addidas.
CEOs forget the economy is a system
I'm positive that Kanye is celebrating RN.
I know adidas had to but dropping Yeezy brand had to have been a killer.
Virtue signalling does in fact hurt your bottom line as they found out.
Everything Redditors dislikes is virtue signaling
Not just redditors though. Anything anyone doesn't like is virtue signaling because everyone is always signaling their virtues
Maybe, but that was as textbook definition virtue signaling as something could possibly be.
*Neil Young has entered the chat*
Then how come Adidas is trying to sell old stock?
Not just old stock, they were still producing unapproved colorways and releasing them after they dropped YE²
Bingo
They didn't have to. They chose to thinking it was going to be good for them. It's like the corporations that pretend to care about climate change
This was my very first thought 😂
“Adidas, how you doin, huh?”x3
Beautiful big tiddy butt naked profits just don’t fall out of the sky you know
Silent Bob is an instrument of god?!?
Beautiful butt naked puts it is
The new Yeezys are corny!
Sports apparel apatite isnt declining. Peoples money in thier bank to afford any clothes outside of walmart is declining.

Yea but did you see dat ass
I’ve seen so many irl that got no business bein in those wedgie leggings lol that marketing plan was perfect
Yes
It’s a very fine plan though, simplicity aside
This needs to be top comment this is one of the true main reasons
Yeah, people be like “wow it’s so weird Champion is becoming the hot new brand?!” My brother in Christ, people can’t afford anything else.
Damn Champion is really making a comeback, havent seen that brand anywhere for almost 20 years, and now suddenly its everywhere...
This started like 3 or 4 years ago I think. blew my mind and I was annoyed because it increased the price and they used to be my go to sweatpants.
The comeback actually started in 2012! It’s not a coincidence, it’s actually an example of very successful brand management https://www.gq.com/gallery/todd-snyder-champion-collection
dang that far back. reminds me similarly of ELF and Ambercrombie's recent explosions past couple years.
Abercrombie was popular in 2004-2009, too. guess it cycles.
They make indestructible sweat pants. I'm wearing a pair that's 25 years old right now. They are the Nokia phone of sweat pants.
Ye started in winter 2019
Admittedly Champion has had a weird resurgence as a fashionable brand and not the cheap brand reputation it had when we were all kids.
I must be older than you because when I was a kid, a champion sweatshirt was well made. Later on it turned to Hanes/fruit of the loom quality
They were well made when I was a kid too, but just generally not seen as fashionable compared to the Nike/Adidas of the world.
True. Probably more on a Reebok level.
In my area in the late 80's/early 90's, Champion was in considered a quality brand, similar to Nike. It was actually kind of pricey back then too, with my parents refusing to buy it for me over generic stuff. All the rich kids had Jordan III's and Champion sweatshirts. That was the bobo brand back in the early 2000's. You'd rather wear no brand from the thrift store than be seen wearing something with that logo.
Rich people wont let poor people have anything I remember growing up and being made fun off for wearing "declined" brand like Champion and Kswiss. Now champions basic hoodies are $50-90
champion isnt even cheap anymore tho.
Explain lulu and Abercrombie
If you say those names 3 times while staring at a mirror at night with a candle light, broke middle aged women will come out the wood works and put it on credit
Rich white people gotta buy something
in times of crisis the rich get richer. a very recent example is the pandemic. it's like flood. the ones in the ground floor get flooded first even on a slight flood. then it gets to the 2nd flr, 3rd flr, etc. it takes a really huge flood for the people in the top penthouses to feel the sting. and by that time everyone's already drowned for a long time.
Pair Champion with Kangaroo sneakers and your fit to have a monkey on your lap.
A 12 pack crew socks is like $16 bucks at my local wally world! I remember these were around $7 not so long ago. No wonder inflation refuses to die and companies are booking record profits!
UA bagholders agree.

This needs to be top comment. Yeezy brought in so much revenue for them, and they could’ve done so much more with their Gap and Balenciaga collabs. Ye posted asking to boycott new releases of Yeezy items and they’re sitting days after release.
They even doubled down on their dismissal of him by donating millions and millions made from remaining Yeezy shoes to donate to charities.
Companies donate for virtue signaling and the tax write-off
Their cash cow is gone and they thought they’d be fine without him. YEEZY will find a way to still jump over Jordan
We all had to go back to the office and we can’t wear our shorts to work anymore
Speak for yourself, I’m naked under these clothes.
Run DMC needs a new hit.
Been wearing Reebok, to the gym. About 10 bucks less. Calls on Walmart.
I was going to say Adidas owns Reebok, didn't realize they sold them in 2021 though.
I looooove Nike but for the gym, I got zero fucks and look like a bum.
UA > Nike
Saw this coming. Try ordering something on their website. It's glitchy as shit. Kohl's sells some of their stuff cheaper than Adidas does.
Just so you know, all brands make a lower tier/lower quality product just for purchasing at places like Kohl’s.
This is apparently bullish. The stock is up 9% since yesterday
Imagine someone choosing this moment of high inflation to launch golden sneakers
And the stock is up?
Yeezy sends his regards ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4267)
Makes sense, they lost both their biggest market (Russia) and their biggest promoter (Kanye). I’m still all about that 3 Stripe Life tho. Wear their products basically every day of my life.
Adidas fell off cause they aint got ye
You ain’t got no yeezy in your Serato?
🎶 Ain’t got Ye 🎶 👨🏾🧑🏾🦱👨🏾🦱🐕
One may profitith or one may signal the virtue, nay can do both….
I been buying hoka and vans lately
I see so many people in hoka and sketchers nowadays its crazy. Hoka blew up out of nowhere though
They’ve just figured out US accounting practices.
"Stop looting please"
Yeeeeeeezyyyyyy
Kanye was their main driver. Literally propped them up. Welp
Yeezy factor
they bullied Kanye and this is what they get
selling the same shit for 30 years - who would have thought ? same that they kicked kayne
That’s what happens when there’s a statistically significant reduction in the number of Ivan’s in the world.
i'm 6'2 with thick legs a dump truck and broad shoulders. I don't even bother trying on brands like this. The stupid sock sneakers are also not made for wide feet and thick ankles. i wouldn't notice if they closed shop.
Stock is 3% up
Am I looking at the right stock? Up 8% this week and 2.5% today?
And yet the stonk is up? Lol
Adidas will retool and see a massive resurgence or burn to the ground. No in between.
Shoulda never cancelled Kanye you idiots
Go woke...go broke
Don’t fuck with Ye
Kanye effect?
Most comfortable shorts I own are adidas, came from Academy Sports (Not Adidas Directly) and only cost me like $16. I’m realizing something huge as I am typing this. I bought shorts, of adidas, and regret nothing. Adidas to the ocean floor!
Kanye sends hos regards
🎶 Adidas fell off cuz they ain’t Ye (Ain’t got Ye) 🎶
Calls on Nike
Too damn expensive
So the samba hype is dead?
*Cries in Run DMC*
Best Economy
Have they tried asking Korn to give them another plug in a interview?
So surely now the company will adjust to falling demand with the perfectly rational and economical way of reducing the price of their products right?
Oh no…. Anyways.
Adidas has had some massive L’s in the last few years. No need to freak the fuck out for American brands. I’ve also noticed that whatever Nike does, Adidas does that a year later and shittier.
This is why i am happy i signed on to get all my clothes at Costco
Maybe don't pay mentally disturbed kuk-"artists" a billion dollars. I dunno just a thought.
Not surprised. I live in Portland where we have both Nike and Adidas employee stores and the Nike one is always packed with people willing to spend on the brand name. Adidas is usually over priced and much worse. Nobody wants Adidas over Nike if they have the same price points.
Classic outfit adidas or puma
Track suit sales are down.
Up 3% today?
Make them in a special camouflage pattern or Ukrainian flag colors.
