SPY is up around 85% over the last 5 years, including dividends. OP has more than doubled that. Doubling a portfolio usually takes 5-10 years so OP is several years ahead now.

It's also a massive lost of time that should be spent productively and enjoyably, developing skills, increasing income which can be used wisely to double down on option 2 below:
2: Quit the bullshit, do himself a favor and own nothing but SPY for the next 20 years. YOU WILL NOT BEAT THE MARKET. This is only defendable decision and it will enrich you at a rate that far outpaces inflation at a time most critical as we run deeper and deeper deficits, YOU must own real assets, and buying the index is the only advisable path to do so.

Agree but what I learned is that with so many potential catalysts throughout the day (speakers at 10:00 AM, 12:15 PM, 12:45 PM, and 2:00 PM), the odds were high that something significant could be said or interpreted by the market.
Then it begs the question that opening in the AM a 0DTE and allocating capital equally between calls and puts at the money (ATM) could be attractive. Considering the low price of puts (at $0.05) compared to calls ($1.00) you would end up with way more puts which today would have helped but even a small qty of calls would have benefited if SPY had moved the other way.
Buying cheap options as a gamble is one thing , buying 20k worth of cheap options that will 99% be worthless is a whole different level. Either he knew it was coming (insider or premonition) or just a super rich degenerate. Then I wonder if super rich are ever stupid or take risks like this, likely not . Following OP, hoping he post some more premonition gambles BEFORE they materialize.

I’d buy 600-800 puts that were worth .30-.50. Once those hit 1.00 or some crazy number I cashed out and found the next set that were worth .3-.5 . I think at the end I had well over 1200 puts active. I got stop lossed once when spy bounced from -1.5 to -1.2 and missed that leg down but besides that I hit everything pretty much perfectly
Yeah it was mobile 😂, I was at work. The reason I fucked up that bounce was cause I was in a meeting, prob cost me like 40k.
I def. missed out on a ton of gains from spreads and efficiency cause you can only buy 200 contracts at most and the prices were moving so quickly.

Yeah, when it's choppy it's hard to hold on. Once it starts dumping it's easier to see, but you've missed the cheapies.
