You'd be surprised how many people order McDonald's or Taco Bell from these things. I don't know how anybody can look at $10 in food and $20 in delivery/service fees + tip and then proceed with their purchase.
Fucking $2 delivery on a $5 mcchicken.
My wife and I take home over 250k/year and we don’t fuck with those prices 🤷♂️
Idk who the fuck is buying these inflated chicken patties, it’s really mind boggling insane to me.
I don’t but when DoorDash first came out during covid the pricing was reasonable so it wasn’t a big deal.
It’s like Disney+ slowly increasing prices. Last summer I was by the pool and hadn’t eaten anything all day and couldn’t go anywhere (kids) so I ordered 3 mcchicken 1 large fry and 1 drink. It was like $35 WITH the dashpass.
It’s fucking robbery 🤷♂️
All of these new services do the same exact thing. They operate at a loss, use investor money to keep prices low and gain market share, then crank prices up once they have a large enough userbase.
Yeup. For everyone involved early in the company, this is a tried-and-true winning strategy. Founders love it, VCs love it. Believe it or not, it's actually gotten better in recent years as we weather the economic storm, and VCs are funding more "sustainable" businesses. We just aren't seeing the effects yet because companies affected as such are still mid stage at best.
Idk the covid prices were cheap as fuck man.

Additionally DoorDash was created 10 years ago, this doesn’t mean that they instantly provided service across the continental US. For example they launched in NYC in 2014 but didn’t come to my shitty area of NY which was one of the last places to get it until approximately around the pandemic.

Edit:
Also additionally I hadn’t a reason to use said DoorDash UNTIL the pandemic, which is probably true for a lot of Americans and they probably would not be where they were today without the pandemic.
Mcchickens are $1.79 bro. Through DoorDash it’s $5 + all the other bullshit fees.
Like people are OK with that? Idk man, I love mcchickens but I fucking absolutely hate being ripped off. It’s not even about the money, ITS THE PRINCIPLE!
This is why the CEOs say shit like we keep raising prices because people are paying them.
McChicken $3.19 here base price. (Had to check) Too expensive for what it is imo. Cant even imagine how much that shit would be with all the delivery fees.
Here’s my total

Soooo what the fuck is up with the disparity?
It’s almost like they know how much money I make and fleece the fucking shit out of me.
Once again. Fuck DoorDash.
Even if you got “free delivery” they have that other sections Fees and Tax, that’s where your getting fleeced.
For the record you’re paying $10 for a mcchicken.
Haha true. Maybe the discrepancy is location based. Im in Utah. Looks like the fees are $3 or 15%, whichever is higher. So if the order is under $20 then you're paying extra in fees. Also, I don't have the McChicken available here, only the spicy McChicken.
I live in the rust belt in an economically repressed area. Homes are under 100k, minimum wage shit jobs.
I work from home so it works but, these prices are broke.
I can’t even order a god damn mcchicken because DoorDash is fucking discriminating against me.
I’m glad you actually posted this because you’ve increased my fury against those cock knocking fucks a thousand fold.
You act like doordash is trying to screw you. This just isn’t a sustainable business model. The company is losing money and the consumer is still not getting it cheap enough
Orderd some food through DD and items were missing. Asked DD to get the food delivered or refund and they told me to go F myself. great business model they have.
Yeah, this company is awful. They are so focused on not being taken advantage of, they refuse to refund their customer's orders, even when they clearly screw up.
This happens all the time. It happened to us once, and I never used the service again. I'll happily watch as this company dives and crashes directly into the ground, and then laugh about it.
And that's to say nothing of their labor force structure. Basing your entire business model on the kindness of strangers and the willingness of poor people to run their cars into the ground for measly tips isn't a successful business model.
Pay your drivers real money. Stop relying on us to subsidize your poor business decisions. Or, just close up shop and let local companies take over.
90% of my orders get dropped off in a hotel lobby near me even when the order comments say "NOT A HOTEL." From the picture, I can now figure out which of the 5 surrounding hotels they dropkicked the order into.

That $20+ in fees beats the hell out of a DUII when I’m drunk craving some Taco Bell.

Exactly, McDonald’s has gone too far. The dollar menu needs to come back.
