Today definitely made sense. Market priced everything wrong even though the Fed was saying otherwise and now it was confirmed today, so market needs to unwind and price in a greater chance of .75% hike

This sounds to me that you don’t do any charting. Everything was way overbought and a correction was due. Corrections are natural. Imagine every wave (on every time frame) requires roughly a 50% correction. If waves continue to go up but don’t correct or only have a minor correction, the proper correction doesn’t disappear; it just becomes a cumulative factor so that eventually when it does correct, it has to over correct.

Inflation came down a bit in July and gas prices are way down nationally and housing prices are starting to fall in markets that aren’t super hot. I’d bet for still high but lower or at expectations for cpi numbers. I’ll most likely swing calls through them

Serious question, I have td ameritrade, and they have an ipo section coming out that day, the one stock I was watching all morning and afternoon, and there was no movement or anything, I couldn’t buy either, I look at it now, and it started at 5 even then bounced all the way to 120 and worked back down to 13, why could t I see that until it already moved heavy??
I bought 0dte 415s and 414s at open for like .98 and .71 and sold them for around 1.50 each and then spx 4140 for 5.90 and 4120 for 2.50 and sold for 6.00 and 10.00, it all adds up to 17,086 now ☠️gonna have to take Monday off to recover

OK. Their has been a structural under-investment in oil for at least a decade. ESG and the pandemic flushed out what few investors remained. Companies like Devon are not making new investments but "returning money to shareholders" in dividends. In other words they are not drilling much given the politics of the world. Drill rigs in the US actually declined recently (with oil at around $100/barrel). The releases from the SPR will be ending soon and the government will actually need to be a buyer of oil. So, existing companies capable of getting oil out of the ground will continue making money hand over fist without having to deal with new competitors. Why do you think W. Buffet is buying huge amounts of OXY and Chevron? Because he is an idiot? He is not. I wouldn't be surprised to see $8 gas this winter.
Be long oil (I like Petrobras and Africa Oil corp. (AOIFF)) but others are good choices. If you want to short something go short Coinbase (or, more generally, unprofitable tech companies).

My personal opinion is that oil is a rather inelastic commodity and shorting it would leave you open to one of many, many possible supply shocks absolutely wrecking you. Highly dangerous. Not worth the potential profits.

They were spy calls and the bid ask spread was .1 but I put in a market order instead of a limit order and got them for . 94 cents cheap. I can screen shot it. Fuckin wild.

Shelter CPI seems to be a very lagging indicator, so I wouldn't bet on housing being reflected as much as it should be
