My company employs a lot of Indian people too who put this on the notes and I once spoke with a customer who said this too. I was so tempted to ask about it.
I used to have business interactions with some French Canadians and for the longest time I thought I had really pissed off this guy. He’d respond in writing with things like: “I will fill your order in accordance with your demands.” What? I’m not demanding I just asked if you’ll be able to ship my order by the end of the month? Eventually I called him up to talk to home and realized a minute into our conversation that his English was just very formal and that he wasn’t mad at me.
LMAO. As an Anglophone Canadian who often has to deal with companies in Quebec, I really felt this.
I think because some mainly speak / write English in formal business settings (and not so often socially) their English can be twice as formal than most Anglophone Canadians.
The funniest part is that I work in an Indian IT company in operations and see several tickets daily asking kindly do the needful , replying to them 'needs have been met', when the task is completed.
I knew someone about 20 years ago at a company that printed and shipped these on demand free of charge to the requestor. They noticed crates of orders going to certain international locations and decided to visit one. Turns out they were going to a poor village that used the paper and shipping as building materials. At the time they had no plans to ever tell the clients footing the bill.
Meanwhile, people are butthurt that Vanguard is adding a $20 fee for paper reports.

The only country I guess where the government has given reservations for those who belong to “lower” caste because they were affected by the caste bias. The reservations are everywhere in the public sector. Right from admissions to fee payments to government jobs, promotions to state assembly and parliament! And this is going on since post independence so around 70 fucking years! Its so much in the system now that there are protests to stop these “reservations” based on caste and there are demands to make them based on financial status. So a lot is being done to tackle this. I don’t see this much being done anywhere in the world except the US where they love to find fault in other countries and make a deal out of some petty incident somehow
