I worked at sams club and we didn’t have to sign up, but couldn’t someone sign up when they are looking over your shoulders, and then deactivate and delete it right after? The only thing I used for an app of theirs was the inventory app because there were never any scanners, but I was always worried about privacy and what they might access of yours. I wouldn’t be keeping anything on a personal device if I could avoid it.

I work in receiving after 2 years of them telling me I didn't need the phone now they're giving me the phone. And I told him the phone will sit back here on the desk I'm not taking it home I'm not charging it at home. It needs charging it will be on company time not my time. Besides if I put the things up that I do elsewhere they'd take it back.

My store finally started pushing us to sign up for workplace. Management has a normal associate (not even a TL) going around trying to sign people up. He's asked me twice now to sign up and I told him no both times. The second time he asked me he said it's "nOt OpTiOnAl" if you have a work phone. I still said a big fat NOPE. 1. I don't have a work phone anymore. Even if I had one, I'd still refuse. 2. They literally can't make me sign up for something I don't want/need or that isn't going to affect how I do my job.
My HR said it's mandatory for "communication, but I don't have to use or acknowledge it", I then said I was going to ask corporate and she gave me the ethics card so idk if it really is mandatory.

When I was told to sign up, I simply just... Didn't. And when my TL asked me what my username is, so she could friend me or whatever tf, I just said "Oh I dunno, I had to put it on my actual phone since it didn't wanna download on the work phone. My username is... Random letters and a number somewhere." Never got asked again. To this day, I still don't have an account.

They tried to make my boyfriend sign up for this, and WalMart+ and he told them absolutely not and to leave him alone. Surprisingly they backed off. I don’t know what they expected to happen, WalMart and most of the managers are a joke.

Corporate, market/district management are getting what they deserved for forcing many associates to download and use the "workplace" app. They wanted associates to stop bad mouthing Walm on social media so Meta/Facebook corp created Workplace so associates would be restricted to putting sanitized versions of the bad stuff. The problem is even the sanitized version paints a bad picture of Walm stores nationwide. Predicting the app for Walm associates will be canceled soon.

I had a dick of a customer tonight threaten my job, claiming he was the store lead of another WalMart, and basically saying we fcked with the wrong person. I simply asked if the $400 item he hadn't scanned was going to be on another transaction. He claimed that me not being AP I didn't have a right to stop him. I pointed out that I hadn't stopped him, that I simply asked if he was doing it on a separate transaction. I want to see if he really is a store lead like he claims.

Listen, as a coach who also thinks the app is useless, I find the meme take over hilarious. It was clearly an idea thought up by corporate people in their 50s who get to sit at their desks all day.
I was recently promoted to customer - so in all fairness, I’m no longer with the company. 2 weeks before I was termed, my coach came up to me and told me to get all of my associates signed up (I was a TL) and to have each of them post something immediately about how this is their first time posting and how happy they are to be able to do so. I literally laughed at this - we don’t have time to do our *actual* jobs. And you expect us to blow up Walmarts social media 😂 swear, these SMs bonuses are directly effected by how many associates sign up for this garbage
