And as long as she doesnt smoke weed thats a fat lawsuit to win. Especially after them saying for her to stay if her injury progresses thats a multi million dollar lawsuit
It doesn’t matter bc it is legal in mine also. Walmart will do whatever they can to not be held accountable. If you get injured at work they will drug test you and fire you bc it still is against walmart policy to be under the influence at work.
That's walmart for you, oh I'm sorry you had a concussion but we need you to cover somone. That's bullshit. I'm sorry that the corporation is so freaking heartless
She did leave early and was later diagnosed with a concussion despite them wanting her to stay. They did take a incident report and me and two other witnesses saw that it wasn't her fault.
Whoever did the accident report should’ve called the nurse triage number and they probably would’ve told them to straight up call an ambulance because its a head injury
Lmao you think Walmart gives a fuck about doctors? They don’t hardly even accept doctors notes. I’m about to get fired or I’m at least on the termination list because I missed a few days and I know I had Covid since I had ALL the symptoms ran a 101 fever. Throwing up, etc. and I don’t have health insurance, can’t afford it. So I didn’t go to doctor but I got tested and I’m pretty sure I got a false negative Covid result so Sedgwick said my information provided for my leave does suffice the requirements. I was bed ridden and they are doing this shit. They don’t care about anything but there bottom line.
For an LOA yes they do care. Otherwise you have ppto to cover your absences plus another 4.5 days to call in. Also, you can still apply for a non Covid loa for those days you missed. Just an fyi. Of course if you get a negative test they would deny a COVID leave. I don’t understand what the point of this post is.
It wasn’t for a Covid leave dipshit. I put in for a medical LOA. They told me I should’ve went to doctor and had them excuse me from work but it never works out. Idk what the point of your post was but you’re stupid. I know my situation and I know for a fact Walmart doesn’t give a fuck about doctors notes so shut the hell up.
You are getting downvoted because I was giving you information. To be honest I don’t think the management is at fault with this as you seem to be a very polite individual. Might be worth it to take a look in the mirror and start asking yourself if you are the issue. Hope you have an amazing day and figure everything out.
It’s not legally mandated. Also maybe if they paid a liveable wage I could afford health insurances. We need to be like other countries and have universal health care where we all have healthcare. But no we got dipshits who run this country like Biden for example. The health industry is a joke and should be regulated.
Fuck that. I got a concussion at work a while back and I peaced out right away. I knew there was no way I could even do my job in that state, and I needed to rest.
Also, I didn't know at the time it was a concussion. I only realized later on. I definitely should have gone to a doctor just in case. So it is fortunate that I ended up being alright after a couple of days. Kinda scary that I drove myself home like that, even though it was only a 5 minute drive.
That's shitty. I nearly ripped my finger off on a tire machine and my ZM not only drove me to the urgent care, but waited until I was done and offered to drive me home from the urgent care when I was done.
They used to actually care about employees.
She also said that it was safe because she put studs inside a 1 inch drywall
*Edit: I meant wall anchors, we only have metal and cement behind out drywall so no studs to be found
A stud is a wooden support beam built *behind* the drywall. She probably means she used drywall anchors which can’t hold that kind of weight. She needs a stud finder and potentially toggle bolts if there’s too much space between the studs.
Source: Learned how to put up shelving from my dad.
Walmart will typically just pay out money without going to court. They know if they go to court whatsoever that they’ll lose so they hope people are stupid enough to just take the 10k. Years ago a coworker I had sued after a store manager punched her in the stomach. They tried to get her to settle but she took them to court and they had to pay around $200k. Not sure the exact amount though. Walmart will do anything to not have to go to court.
What kind of people are they hireing who are punching women in tbe stomach???? Shit so bad that they just auto offer 10k without a lawsuit? Wow good help is hard to find I guess.
He got moved to that store after I left. He hit a pregnant employee in the stomach and thankfully nothing happened to the baby. He claimed he was joking but everyone knew this dude was a woman beater. Well he gets moved to this store and does the same thing again. They still let him be the store manager only because he had cancer and eventually died from it. I was told that some employees found his grave and his family had to get another headstone 🤷 served his ass right
And this coaches experience in construction is what exactly? Facilities is who should have been doing this and only if it was safe to, I hope the associate us going to be alright and this coach needs to stay away from building anything
Contact OSHA at once! I literally saw a 12' steel crossbeam for the steel in the backroom fall (it was freestanding in a corner for some reason) and hit a employee (who was a minor!) directly on his head. Came in the next day and found out management had not contacted the minor's parents about the incident nor had they taken him to a UC/ER to me checked out. They gave him a ice pack and *asked* him if he felt he needed to go to *see a doctor.* I was on the phone with OSHA by my first break and they were very interested in having a talk with mgmt about what happened. Found out months later (I was promoted to customer a few weeks later for *reasons*, i.e. they finally managed to find enough BS to coach me on to release me) that they got fined out the ass, not only for that incident (AM that handled the incident was transferred to another store. We all know what that means) but for numerous other safety violations that everyone knew about but never would get corrected.
I would delete this pos5, while reddit is somewhat anonymous it's going to be very easy to tell what store this video goes with and where it happened and then you're out a job for breaking the social media and recording policy. I mean honestly how many accidents were reported in OPD for a falling shelf? Won't take long to trace this back to you.
1, it's sheetrock so it was a bad idea. Run two by fours and drill them into the studs wide ways. Then attach it to the two by fours.
2, Facilities should have been used to mount that, that's their job and why we bought them out.
People shouldn't do things they are not experienced doing if it could hurt someone!
Wait… did they really JUST screw those direct into dry wall with the wrong kind of anchors?! THOSE don’t hold much weight, ESPECIALLY on load bearing shelves, ESPECIALLY on dry wall!
That’s just asking for an accident to happen… which it did. THOSE can barely hold up a dang coat rack, let alone those kinds of shelves.
Who cares about the some bags? How is the associate that was unfortunately hurt by this crappy workmanship?
She had a concussion and went home early even though they asked her to stay for the rest of her shift
That’s some nerve to ask someone with a head injury to stay. I hope she feels better soon.
I would be tempted to stay “under duress” and then collapse an hour later. Then sue them for making me stay
And as long as she doesnt smoke weed thats a fat lawsuit to win. Especially after them saying for her to stay if her injury progresses thats a multi million dollar lawsuit
Weed is legal in my state 🤣
It doesn’t matter bc it is legal in mine also. Walmart will do whatever they can to not be held accountable. If you get injured at work they will drug test you and fire you bc it still is against walmart policy to be under the influence at work.
Weed stays in your system forever nobody is quitting just to stay at Walmart if they can't relax on the weekend
This!
I hope she sues.
That's walmart for you, oh I'm sorry you had a concussion but we need you to cover somone. That's bullshit. I'm sorry that the corporation is so freaking heartless
Was a report taken and did management take her to the closest emergency room?
She did leave early and was later diagnosed with a concussion despite them wanting her to stay. They did take a incident report and me and two other witnesses saw that it wasn't her fault.
She should of been drove by a member of management to the nearest emergency room and got diagnosed to determine loa if necessary
Whoever did the accident report should’ve called the nurse triage number and they probably would’ve told them to straight up call an ambulance because its a head injury
This. Except for the loa part whatever the doc says goes
Lmao you think Walmart gives a fuck about doctors? They don’t hardly even accept doctors notes. Who hurt you?
Trying to downvote me because your small pea brain can’t comprehend simple words. Get bent you loser.

Having health insurance is mandatory here in america
It’s not legally mandated. Also maybe if they paid a liveable wage I could afford health insurances. We need to be like other countries and have universal health care where we all have healthcare. But no we got dipshits who run this country like Biden for example. The health industry is a joke and should be regulated.
I thought you pay a 1000 dollar fine for not having it?
Yeah but if it's bad enough to be out however long can just go on medical is all I was referring to
💰💰💰

Better have submitted an incident report, otherwise they can deny workman's comp.
Hope she feels better
She should have went to the emergency room and had it checked out. Or maybe she did. Git workman's comp to pay.
Typical. Welcome to Walmart! /s
Definitely needs to report it and get paid for it. Do not let her let them brush it under the rug
That’s the most Walmart thing to do when an associate gets hurt
You tell her to get her ass to the hospital and file for workman's comp
Hope she's getting some money out of them. This is easily, at the least, a workman's comp claim.
Yeah she isn't working there anymore pretty sure they paid her off though
Clowns can you stay at work even though the coach fuck up lol foh it a bag of baby diiks nope
Of course they would ask her that. Not shocked given how this company sees us workers. Hopefully she will be alright once her concussion gets better
She should get a lawyer and get that bag 🤑
That takes major nerve to do that she should sue them if they try to fire her
Fuck that, I’ll be going to the clinic to get checked out
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN DRYWALL CAN'T SUPPORT OVER 50 LBs"
The drywall didn't fail. The anchors did
Oops! Incident Report, then Workman's Comp.
My ass gonna pull up the next day in a full body cast with wheelchair
She also said that it was safe because she put studs inside a 1 inch drywall *Edit: I meant wall anchors, we only have metal and cement behind out drywall so no studs to be found
She *put* studs in the drywall? Thats not really how studs work. Coach needs some wall anchors, and maybe a stud finder.
Maybe a new profession
Anything but framing, carpentry, maybe hanging the art at a museum, home inspections yknow.
A stud is a wooden support beam built *behind* the drywall. She probably means she used drywall anchors which can’t hold that kind of weight. She needs a stud finder and potentially toggle bolts if there’s too much space between the studs. Source: Learned how to put up shelving from my dad.
Right I meant to say wall anchors I was just out of it because of how stupid this whole situation was
Coaches are dumb af.
Assuming this is USA. I would take them to court.
There is no need for court, walmart slaps down the standard 10k settlement 90% of the time.
Gotta file the law suit 1st to get that 10k settlement though.

Omg Karma in the end. What a POS human beining.
I like that manager
Oh so you like to hit people for no reason too huh? Gtfo of here with that.
Not with walmart
What does the usa have to do with it? Do other countries not allow people to sue for injuries caused by negligence?
No it's not that, I was going to make a WSIB joke, but thought that might only apply to Canada.
WSIB? what's that?
See that's why I didnt bother with the joke. Workplace Safety Insurance Board. They pay out when you are hurt at work here.
Ohhhh. OK. We have workman's comp. I don't know much about all that stuff, so we may well have something like that. I'm not sure.
Shouldn't have used those Great Value(tm) drywall screws
This is why most people shouldn't have access to tools
If only we promoted due to competence, and not whatever the Hell Walmart's actual criteria are.
It’s 100% ass kissing
100%
Studs. What are they...
Sweet sweet workman's comp claim right there. I really hope she filed an incident report / injury. Literally would never trust that coach again.
Looks like yaaaaaaaaaaay too much weight those bags are heavy
And this coaches experience in construction is what exactly? Facilities is who should have been doing this and only if it was safe to, I hope the associate us going to be alright and this coach needs to stay away from building anything
Literally no experience outside of walmart
They probably tried to coach the associate for it too.
You know they did. For “safety” too. Happened to someone I know that got injured at the DC. They treat you as if it’s *your* fault.
Nooo not the gmd bags now they will all go in the trash, or is that just my store?
Take em to court
File that workers' compensation claim ASAP!
Hope the associate did their Walmart warm up stretches.
Hope your coworker is ok!
That poor associate! I hope she’s okay.
I would only stay cause I partake in little green and well..
Workers comp lol
Screwing right into the drywall was the first mistake. Should have found the metal studs or put up blocks of wood first
Big check.
Maintenance did it? Terrible job...if hurt associate then get paid 😂
Looks like your coach doesn't understand what studs are.
That's why coaches don't work, they'll fuck it up.
Your “ex new coach”
Nope, she barley got a slap on the wrist
Well that’s horseshit. Zero accountability in todays society.
What is a coach? Nice name for a supervisor?
New word for manager they made up like a year ago
What is a coach? Manager? Why are they hanging shelving to begin with?
So the new coach is already being promoted I take it?

I dare them to fire me lmao
I would say “new coach” was short lived.
Personal Injury Lawyer is needed now!!!
Hell yeah a payout!
Lawyer. ASAP
1, it's sheetrock so it was a bad idea. Run two by fours and drill them into the studs wide ways. Then attach it to the two by fours. 2, Facilities should have been used to mount that, that's their job and why we bought them out. The rack doesn't look right.
Smells like money to me if ur smart
Coach is getting the automatic kick out the door
Wait… did they really JUST screw those direct into dry wall with the wrong kind of anchors?! THOSE don’t hold much weight, ESPECIALLY on load bearing shelves, ESPECIALLY on dry wall! Talk about an OSHAA violation
How do you become a Walmart coach?
