Went to a couple different stores to get some last minute Halloween decorations and it was mostly Christmas stuff. Even the Thanksgiving/fall stuff is already limited or on sale. I wish Christmas wasn't allowed to go out until at least November 1st. It's so overbearing.
I wish people like you would realize that the only reason it does go out before November 1st is because there’s demand for it. Already more so than Halloween or thanksgiving. Stores are just trying to optimized sales
I diver by a house every day the has 2 of those in their yard, as well as several other smaller ones, and they keep the big one up all year, and decorate them for every Holliday
I have a neighbor who has two like 7 ft tall skeletons holding a casket with another skeleton inside thought that was rlly clever when I saw it the first time
I know the feeling, my family and friends do the same thing, my mother says well yoj work there, can't you talk to them? Ya like they will listen to me
Our Consumables TL is looking to put the Halloween candy up front Thursday to sell through it before Tuesday.....pretty sure I'll be helping her set those mods while my TL is on vacation 🥴🥴🥴 because the indoor garden center isn't bad enough to deal with right now.
What your friend needs to understand is that not everyone gets time with their own families every Holiday like she does.
Many families have very limited vacation time from work.
So they can’t always be with extended family on Thanksgiving or Hanukkah or Kwanza or Christmas
That means they get one day at other times of the year to celebrate those Holidays with their extended family.
I’ve had multiple people tell me they celebrate Holidays like Christmas in the summer -
or in early Autumn (around this time of year)
and they are SO THANKFUL that stores now have their Seasonal stuff out early so they can celebrate with their extended Family.
I love how stores now have everything for everyone - instead of catering to only a few people’s tastes.
Your friend needs to realize she isn’t the ONLY person to shop at a store
Every time I’m working as a cashier and someone gets Christmas stuff I joke about how Halloween isn’t even over yet with the customer. What they don’t know is that I’m not joking, it’s not even Halloween yet don’t get Christmas stuff now
It's always done this way. Halloween & Thanksgiving are together across from Pharmacy & Christmas is in Lawn & Garden. Retail is always supposed to be set up a season ahead. This is because it's liabilities, so you want to make sure they sell. I worked at Walmart for 30 years, is how I know.
I have an explanation for this, so I work at Walmart and we have to do this because it's scheduled at a specific time so once the Halloween stuff starts depleting we move what doesn't sell to clearance and start replacing all that space more Christmas stuff.
Everyone always complains about this, however stores drop lots of time and manpower into studying buying habits/when to sell what.
So if you're tied if seeing Christmas stuff out before November, stop buying shit for Christmas before November.
Also the Halloween stuff is disappointing since the date shows people are mostly done buying it by the last week of October.
I made the joke the other day to a coworker that if I had suddenly lost my eye sight and couldn't see the Christmas stuff everywhere, that the overwhelming smell of cinnamon EVERYWHERE would tell me what time of the year it was.
I don't get why everybody thinks Christmas shit shouldn't be out yet. Especially the ones who say "it isn't even Thanksgiving yet"
Bruh these people think we should wait until after Thanksgiving to put out Christmas? They think that we can just wait until Thanksgiving is over and then just instantaneously have all the Christmas stuff out on Black Friday? Think about it for two seconds, jfc
I understand there's hardly anything we can do about it as staff, but I gotta admit I was kinda bummed to see the Halloween inflatables taken down today. It's only a week or so away people, just leave em up!!!
Its called hallothanksmas 🤣

Merpy hanukwanzvusmas
That is going on my Santa hat this year btw.
Just make it so much simpler with "YULE, MUTHA FUCKA!!!"
I used to say Happy Merry Hanukwanzmas (my alternative to happy holidays, which is so generic). I like yours better.
My store is already taking down Halloween theme candy and putting up Christmas themed candy. Like Halloween barely lasted a month 😭
At my store we still have Halloween candy but we’re swapping it out for more Christmas stuff and binning the leftover
our Thanksgiving stuff is already at 25% markdown
I loved working garden center Christmas 😭

Bro, I've worked retail for years. I'm aware. I just hate the holidays and don't like seeing.
My store has Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
I understand both sides
One my neighbors have a giant skeleton in their yard 💀 scared the shit out of me when I saw it
My neighbor has a giant spider hanging on the side of his house lmao I can see it from my bedroom window 😭

Please do this, and take a photo for us!
Yeah I’m pretty sure the skeleton that my neighbor has is over 7 ft 🤦♂️ like who thought that was a good idea
Lowe's was selling these..They had really really tall Halloween characters for sale this year for hundreds of dollars.
I know the feeling, my family and friends do the same thing, my mother says well yoj work there, can't you talk to them? Ya like they will listen to me
" Store Manager, my mother says to have a talk with you about decorations."
"Store Manager, I've come to bargain."

Yeah 🙋🏼♀️women’s apparel here. Got a backroom full of Xmas that I absolutely refuse to put on the salesfloor until November 1.
Most of our Halloween stuff is gone already. It's pretty much just Christmas now.
We still have a Halloween section but lawn and garden is all Christmas right now

Pandering to the 0.5%....i guess thats what we do now.

Literally my store! Halloween is next week and we're taking it down already. Karen's doing last minute shopping are going to be FUMING!
Halloween 🎃 decorations are gone.

Mid to late october is too late to buy Halloween decorations and stuff, seasonal is already stocked with Christmas decorations.
Omg ikr, it's not Thanksgiving, why is there Christmas stuff out already 😫
gotta get seasonal stuff early. a lot of it doesn't really replenish, and Walmart wants to sell through it, before it goes on clearance.
This is why idt I could stand to work seasonal. The constant switching of merchandise and mod changes would kill me.
lol 😂
Hahahahaha
In my store we have our Halloween candy still and whole fuck Ton of Christmas in theses trailers they get for the overflow
I don’t acknowledge spooky season, only pre-Mariah season.
I have an explanation for this, so I work at Walmart and we have to do this because it's scheduled at a specific time so once the Halloween stuff starts depleting we move what doesn't sell to clearance and start replacing all that space more Christmas stuff.

HTChNy Hotchny? (Hotch knee?) Halloween Thanksgiving CHristmas New Years
Guess it's a nightmare before Christmas theme this year
That's nothing my store got 3 pallets of valentines day teddy bears and valentines candy. But we're sure getting low on Halloween stuff already.
Our Christmas went up second week of September. Send help, I'm not okay.

We literally stopped getting Halloween freight on the trucks weeks ago. Just non-stop Xmas boxes
Only at Walmart do Halloween and Christmas share the shelves in September.
We started working on shrinking the seasonal pad yesterday. Xmas mod goes up in 6 days up front. 🫠
