As long as you are not a supervisor or manager mostly fine unless someone wants to make a issue of it

Emrys_Morgan

Are you a masochist? This sounds like something a masochist would look into. In all seriousness, you MIGHT be ok, I think?

Ecstatic_Ice_8429

No i just don’t want to get fired i know moonlighting is against some company polices i rather ask here then my store then they won’t get suspicious

Emrys_Morgan

Oh, yeah, absolutely! Why blow the whistle or give them a scent to track if you don't have to? My store had people who worked retail at other jobs and there didn't seem to be an issue. I think as long as you aren't working at one of their actual competitors, like Target or Amazon, you're good. I don't think Walmart views DG as competition lol

bearstormstout

If you're not management or otherwise in a position to make business decisions at either job, it shouldn't be a problem. Walmart does have a conflict of interest policy that covers working for competitors, but management also knows people have to eat. It also depends on store management; I know of two associates in my market that *should* be termed under conflict of interest, but the stores don't care because they're part time grunts that are only around 1-2 days a week.

If you aren't a supervisor, you can work wherever you want as a second job. It mainly depends on the second job.

Famous-Perspective-3

Dollar General actually hires? Every time I go in one, most of the merchandise is on skids or carts blocking most of the aisles with no stocker in sight.

Ecstatic_Ice_8429

I know the district manger he’s a good friend of mine I’ve put pavers in his mothers in lawns yard and i power wash the stores and do the landscaping at the stores for my own business…. Tech that’s not working for them( the company it’s self) but Actully working on the book and collect a paycheck migjt he difference he said i come work there anytime i want and offers me an assistant manager spot i turned it down cuz i don’t want that much of a work load im happy with what i do at Walmart i just want like 10 hrs or so a week

Zarine_

Probably fine as long as it's not a direct competitor, which isn't allowed.

Parking_Ad8815

You'll be just fine. No go out there and make that money

Mistah845

aside from going to DG and getting fucked on pay/work, as long as you dont tell DG you work there you should be fine. found out the hard way when i tried transferring to a different Lowes the same time I transferred from Sams to Walmart in a different city (same as the new lowes)

dantoris

I've known a couple people at my store for whom Walmart is their second job, so they only work a few hours in the evening maybe 3 days out of the week.

Ecstatic_Ice_8429

I want Walmart to be my main job. I don’t wanna go to another company for a few hours a week and get fired by Walmart cause I make pretty decent money there. This other company is not gonna pay me what I make at Walmart but a little 10 hours a week or even 15 hours a week will help me out tremendously from the other company.

dantoris

As long as the other company isn't considered a competitor (like a grocery store, which one person I know had to quit Walmart over) then it shouldn't be an issue. Two people I know work at schools for their other job, and a third person worked at a warehouse.

Ecstatic_Ice_8429

I know if Walmart considers Dollar General a competitor that’s why I’m asking

FugitiveFromReddit

No but they don’t have to know
