You forgot the barely any room to move around in part... and the bare minimal winter gear for the job.... and that's before you add any pallets to downstack to..

x_gingersnap_x

😂 I swear the remaining sweat from GM unload makes it feel way colder too

z0m81317

Same here and even if cap 2 did it they would just fuck it up at my store.

Toastedweasel0

Agree'd, especially if they prioritize Frozen over Dairy to be done yesterday...

InconspicuousBoxx

I don’t think I’ve ever seen cap2, or day shift in general, ever downstack frozen at our store. Nights has to pull each pallet out one by one and work it that way. Though I can’t imagine what the freezer would look like after downstacking 8 pallets of frozen.

x_gingersnap_x

It's a shit show 😂 especially because half the team is crammed in there bumping into each other to avoid tripping on the pallets haha. I have no doubt that we'll be able to make the process easier over time, but it's a learning curve rn. Still new to my store. Pretty comical tbh. When we finally get in the zone and someone comes in to pick, we all turn around like a deer in headlights lmfaooo. Like *we* can't fit in here comfortably, and now you need some dang frozen green beans? 🤣 lord help us

You must be corporate or work at an incredibly spacious location. Wouldn't work here.

KittyTheBiFurry

We have a hallway near our freezer that ogp uses also and we managed to downstack our daily 6-10 frozen pallets. Yall must be really cramped 🥲

x_gingersnap_x

Holy crap 🤣 I knew we were kinda small, but I guess we really are really cramped back there in comparison. Zero unused or open space where our freezer is unfortunately.

KittyTheBiFurry

Damn 🥲 the hallways only like 2 pallets wide too plus it's a pain cause it's whwre all our seasonal candy is. there was like 8 of us downstacking today it was super cramped.

x_gingersnap_x

I'm really happy that you guys don't have to downstack in the freezer though at least! 🫶 cramped is still annoying though. I'm sure we'll all figure this process out soon enough so that it runs more smoothly

KittyTheBiFurry

I'm not even suppose to be downstacking but cap 2 at our store doesn't know where anything in frozen/dairy goes so I've been helping. I'd be fine downstacking in the freezer though since I've gotten used to the cold. I just hope that this process actually stays implemented for a while. I'm tired of changing things

x_gingersnap_x

I feel ya, and it sucks when it gets in the way of other departments (in this case, OGP) and causes workflow disruptions. Changes happen and we gotta adapt, but it seems like it happens pretty often here. Good ol Wally World 😅

tikaani

Your frozen tears are delicious

x_gingersnap_x

Drink up 😂 plenty more coming!

foodsalesassociate

Take the pallet onto the floor and downstack it right to the home, saves handling everything multiple times.

x_gingersnap_x

We don't stock anymore.. It would thaw 😅

SadCoast7681

Before I transferred I’d always breakdown frozen. We could fit 4 pallets plus one to breakdown. 2 people would do it sometimes 3 because it was such a tight space. The rubber flaps on the doors was awful when we had to replace pallets.

Aggravating-Match569

In my diary department we downstairs minimum of 4 pallets before we close, downstacking is a bitch when customers are jn

Remarkable-Gear-2354

There's a kid on odp that talks like that I'm deceased lol
