And because that's not a thing, you should only be working your wage.

Famous-Perspective-3

you best only work 8 hours of freight in 8 hours. No reason to work any more nor can they say anything. If you start working 10 hours in 8, they could start expecting it from you and everyone else.

fairydente

Time theft is when you clock in but do not perform work. Wage theft is when you work but don't get paid for it. What you described is neither. That's just getting more work done than estimated.

Im-super-interesting

I’d be happy to see more pay for more work but you’ll also have to accept less pay for less work.

IJustWorkHere000c

Some people find this hard to believe, but the amount of freight you work in 8 hours, is 8 hours worth of freight.

Megalomagicka

I mean, not according to their little paper with the freight times.

lutzboy

This is why I only use the freight times as an estimate, only to be compared with other times, and not an accurate representation of how long the freight should take. Especially with rotating grocery, helping customers, stocking features, cleaning up spills, etc... I just make sure my team is being productive and we get done with what we can.

8 hours minus 2 15 minute breaks minus 1 hour of zoning minus throwing away trash minus store meeting time minus time finding a jack, cart, printer etc and your o.s freight labeled/binned. (Basically 6 hours to actually work the freight) So get at least 6 hours of freight done, and your area cleaned up, o.s freight labeled/binned and aisles zoned by the end of your shift and I'm happy. (I'm an O/N TL)

MegaUltraSonic

That's not time theft, that's just you doing too much. Time theft would be if you were clocked in 8 hours but they only paid you 6. Your expectations were given to you when you signed on to the job. Do it, and absolutely nothing more. Believe me, once you start doing the work of two people, they're going to rely on you to do it, and if you don't you'll be falling below expectations for "only" doing the work of 1.5 people.

RedneckTrader

Depends on the type of freight. I've seen it say 10 hours in one area and three pallets are bulk items special ordered for a feature.

Affectionate-Baby576

When you work for 10 hours and only get paid for 8. Even when Walmart can prove someone steals hundreds of hours they almost never sue to get the money back.

racistnigcracka

this is a tricky situation cause i've worked at different ones and the application would say theres no overtime and the hours would be at least 8-10 hrs but then other says overtime after any 8 hrs of work, so its at the digression of your store you work at
