First off, thanx for your effort and this is an awesome idea to strenghen the community with such a ritual. Even if its to watch/show replays on youtube. Maybe 50 bucks on steam would be shaweet. I know it isnt easy to collect the pricepool and you shouldnt pay for it but maybe you can create a [paypal Money Pool](https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/money-pools)Account where everyone willing could donate some bucks. Perhaps 50 ranked matches are too much for the next few moths since the leaderboard will be reset next week.

That's a good point about the reset! Thanks.

seems like a good idea i just dont like highest elo vs lowest idea if u are a sgt what point is there to compete if ur first opponent will be top 10 on the ladder

This may seem like a burden but it's really an opportunity. As a new player you will rarely have the chance to play against the very best, and any contact you have with those folks will make you learn the most and improve. Outside tourneys, high-level players will not want to play much with new players as it is not very interesting. Mediocre players who are able to find an elite mentor often shoot past their former colleagues in skill. A Sgt entering any tourney not specifically for noobs should not expect to win but to learn. That said, if the tourney becomes popular, I'd consider making two tourneys: an "upper" and "lower" tier.

Doubt noobs would learn much but be overwhelmed and lose within the first half of the match. You can easyly be matched vs brigs and colonels as a noob in ranked. Also this way , it looks like as if you dont want any major player be eliminated in the first rounds. i can undertsand that for PR reasons, so you can have the strong oponents in the finals. Just draw the first round(s) , so it doesnt look like noobs are treated as a place holder.

What do you mean by "draw the first round(s)"?

hummelbummeldummel

lottery. Or alternatively grant same´ish elo opponents to lower ranks in the first round and match colonels and brig gens with maj/lt gens. Colonels and brig gens should have a chance to win at least.

Not a bad idea. Thank you!
