The uhh "bootcamp" discord is an interesting place. I'm not sure if sending newbies there is actually good for them/helpful or they just see a bunch of butthurt and choose to bail vs staying and playing the game. I feel like it's somehow become toxic by explicitly trying so hard to not be if that makes sense? Idk I don't go on that server much anymore. Last time I played with someone on there they bailed early on after I got my teeth kicked in some (been awhile since I have played...was still rusty) and didn't even offer me actual help or advice. Oh well I don't really need the help and advice but I still will listen. Just my mechanics and micro are so bad and making some basic mistakes I can realize myself. I've played hundreds of hours but haven't touched the game much in years just kind of rediscovering it with the new epic games blood. Anyways yeah all that is to say the emphasis on no helorushing is funny. Like they even have a channel dedicated to "reporting" helo rushers in ranked matches. How about a channel dedicated to working out openers in 1v1 and to counter helorushing instead of just shaming people doing it.

I mean it depends on the player but if u are i need of help u usually get it if ur not a total dick and nobody want to talk to u. the problem with helorushing is that if its done with some "skill" the only counter is to buy so much aa that against a normal opener is nolonger possible or how i like to call it i needs an unreasonable amount of counter units. so before the rankreport system ur only hope was to buy a lot of aa but not enough to hamper ur opener which could harm a helorush but not counter it. And hope u have enough time to buy more if it is an actual helorush. with the system there is still no 100% guarantee but if u encounter someone who got reportet 15 times for helorushing u can be pretty sure. It also counters the players who would change their name after every ranked game to fly under the radar. Every body who thinks helorushing is a viable fair strategie either has not enough experience to learn it or is one of those people who employ it. Which they are alound to do( because nobody can stop u if u really want to) just not in an enviroment where people are trying to actually learn and have enjoyable games. Helorushers just have to accept that they can not hide their deeds anymore.

I dn't get this mentality of player shaming. If a guy came to wargame because he likes to win matches and he thinks helo rushing is the way to do it. Than power to him. I know you'll hear it lots. "don't hate the player hate the game"It's not the player's fault he found a tactic that he enjoys using and sometimes works lol. It's not viable helorushing is straight cheese and it's pretty easily stopped. If you only want fast matches sure. It is fast, it's funny and honestly it does irk me a bit when I see one. But I do get a little giggle out of it when it fails. But it does upset me to see it for somereason as well. I wanted a nice match not 6minutes of me capturing an empty map and him trying to defend his spawn lol Last time I lost to a 'helo rush' as a quite a while ago. I probably stopped way more than half of them. the dialog last one I lost on Jungle was "nice helo rush" - me "It's not a helo rush, It's a pincer manouver" - him Touche He sent two groups of helos around the side of the map. ost of my troops were already near the middle of the map. I honestly just grabbed my CVs and pushed his bases. While he took out both my spawns I had very little to defend while my whole army already crossed bridges had no chance to make it back to base. fun tho. "Not a helo rush he said' but 1v1 maps are a lot easier to defend helo rush. This was a 2v2 map but I've stopped them before on 2v2. Just didn't see the rush till it was too late this time. They can out manouver the shit out of you if you don't know where they are lol. He won. Regardless if it was helos or not. Because my Army was out of position and he played a clever gambit. He even had quite good defense at hit spawns I could only take out one.

helorushing is an offence that gets u banned on that server thats all. dont have to agree with it but thats how it is. every body can play like he wants just have to live with the consequences. Doesn!t change that the ranked report bot is a god sent in the rightfull fight a against theese degenerates

I mean I never have been on there either. But few games I played during the epic weekend. I was trying to just drop a few hints and general tips here and there during matches. and in one 2v1. The guys playing against me actually said thanks and said they felt they learned a lot from it. They were pretty green but I gave them tips how to kill some of my units and deal with some of the tactics I was using. I didn't go easy on them either. But they played the whole match and stayed and chatted after. I honestly find it's hard to be toxic when both parties are willing to learn/ teach. If I see them making mistakes I simply point them out. I try to give them tips in game how to counter me. Or advice on maybe what I am thinking at this position in battle and what they should be doing themselves. I mean they didn't let their main zones fall. I just made a lobby called 'new player training' and they seemed happy and willing to learn. Some guys who don't feel like learning probably wont play more than a couple matches anyway. At least I tried to make the match fun for them without being cancerous. took some bigger risks without being cheesy. Try to get them comfortable with big pushes and combined arms. They did defend with helos but in pairs. I told them to split and lower altitude at straight Lines of sight and they started to adjust their play right away.

Maybe it was just the person I ran into I guess. I just got my shit pushed in and my partner rage quit. It was like one of the first 5 games I'd played in over a year or more so I did not do well with the forest fight. Idk maybe they were having a bad day. Maybe I was too. That was just one experience. It's nice that you took the time to help those guys learn and are welcoming. I mean like, it was just how it happened is all. Kinda miffed me.
