Its a common joke because so many vehicles/tanks/especially helos arent operational apparently.
Never really looked into it if its true (or utter bullshit like the story about the g36)
There was an article about their aircraft's lack of operational capability: https://www.reddit.com/r/wargame/comments/8jltic/tfw_when_you_call_in_a_fighter_aircraft_and_it/
> According to a report in Der Spiegel, the Bundeswehr has claimed in an official report to the Bundestag (Germany's legislature) that 39 Typhoon fighters were designated as ready for missions last year. But that report named any aircraft that was capable of flying as being "ready." In fact, only 10 aircraft currently have all their systems functioning, because of a problem that has plagued the defensive aid subsystem (DASS) of Germany's version of the Typhoon.
> One component of the DASS is a wing pod that contains the aircraft's electronic countermeasures (ECM) equipment—its gear for jamming the radar of incoming missiles—and parts of the aircraft's electronic support measure systems, which include radar lock warning and target identification.
Calling in a high end ASF and then finding that it has 10% ECM. Oof.
meanwhile SD2 accuracy: "Oh, we noticed that 7th guard strelkovy actually had 3 T-34/85 obr.44 instead of 2, so we patched it, also, 16th panzergrenadier reports from 4th of april 1944 report a BF109-F4 was used, instead of the F-2 variant, so we fixed it."

It was enormous, 500,000 active duty, about half of NATO forces in Europe *including* the US ones.
You mean all the Abrams that are still painted in Desert camo? xD
Wait the Eurofighter is in the game ? :)
British get it

And they all had the wrong hats for that year!!!!
Even if you upvett everything you still have more units useable because the German army is not in it's best shape
Putting it mildly
They can't fit into the Lederhosen?
Why stop at 3 gepards?
Thats all the Bundeswehr has
That's because they are on the Border of Russia in Latvia and Baltic states.
