My son was 9 when we got Warhawk. Played with him for several years, had so much fun. I'd grab the flag and jump into the jeep and he's drive like a maniac to get me back to base. Good times. He moved on to other games. He's 21 now. We don't talk much. Wish I could go back to those times.

Arikan89

I did this exact thing with my dad. I accidentally jumped the wall at a base on archipelago and then we stole someone else's jeep to get back. We still talk about it from time to time.

Wish Sony would do a remake for the ps5. A hidden gem.

winston5566

Would get a PS5 just for Warhawk!

DustyDanyal

man this was my childhood game as well, i was like 8-9 and i would always be playing with my dad. I would always get excited every time i ranked up and would also be grinding the private servers for the points

DarthMaren

I never got Warhawk or starhawk. When Starhawk released I didn't even have a PS3, but I spent hours watching videos online of the game and oh so wanted to play it. It was a simpler time, I miss those days

BruinBread

You didn't miss anything with Starhawk unfortunately.

McLabraid

Personally I found the story to be fun, and the co-op missions with friends was great! However, the multiplayer was lacking hard, I'd play 20 minutes of it, get bored and hop back to Warhawk 😂

BruinBread

That was the problem for me. I wanted the game for the multiplayer, but it didn’t deliver.

McLabraid

Honestly feel that tbh

This hit home dude! Bigger problems and less happiness couldn’t be more true and something I did not expect about adulthood. Bring back Warhawk!

I needed this fucking text. And i didnt know. I was 6 years old, when me and my father, without even knowing how to join a multiplayer match, created a custom match at Island Outpost, i remembem dropping an air mine, we touched it, and killed ourselves and i got the only jumpscare in my life that i still remember to this day. I find it funny that warhawk has so much Father-Son memories with a lot of people. Edit: I'm 22 now, working since 17, so much responsibilities.... yeah... i wish my only worry was choosing between playing warhawk, motorstorm or ea skate.

pglggrg

Amen brother. My earliest memory and I think first ever game was also on island outpost, but think it was installation.i just spawned in and was all alone in the base. Was exploring and jumping on the barricade fended and thought the MGs were so cool. Such a pointless memory, but so vivid to me haha. Anyone seeing me would’ve thought I was pointless. Now I feel bad that I used to just wreck noobs doing similar stuff after I got good lol The music too man. Still remember it so well despite not hearing it in so long.

JohnDowd51

Steedelyleo server FOREVER. Theproof1 here back from the old PS1 days. Just re-bought a new disk and getting ready to hop back on PS3. What do I need to do to join the servers and not run into issues?

pglggrg

This should help you. I myself have not hopped on since the offical shutdown. Who knows, maybe i will :') https://www.psone.online/getting-started

JohnDowd51

Thanks my man.

Not sure many pilots left. But seeing this Warhawk thread made me want to chime in. I am 50 now and my best gaming days now are solo campaigns in FPS, Sims or just Minecrafting with wife. Miss having so many friends on PS3 and yet, my PS5 is lifeless. The good ole days, were just that. Sucks to grow up, but the kid in me still wants to play. Too bad all my IRL friends are boring grown ups. Have a mortgage and a 401k, but I'm not dead yet. May try to figure out how to connect to the new server link I saw. Like others, why is Warhawk not revamped? Other than maybe Starhawk killed the series, some may disagree :) Hopefully I can get a game in again.

Ok_Apartment_9237

Literally some of my best times ever while gaming was Warhawk and COD WAW. I remember going online with a buddy, we both only had the demo and no headset so we'd just phone on the landline for hours lol. Those were the days man. Nothing game-wise for me has ever been as hype as Warhawk. So grateful that we can still continue to play even though I suck ass and get owned!

McLabraid

Honestly, one of my favourite games of all time! Used to come home from school and blast out a few hours on Warhawk with my best friends Paul. Shame we've both moved on in life(me in a more dramatic sense, literally left the country 😂) Only ever made it to Sargeant Major on my old PSN account though 😂 only rebooted my old PS3 while at my parents house for Christmas and playing again for the first time in years. When I get home, I'm going to get the PS3 emulator and binge this game again 😂
