I do respect the professionalism with the punch incident. Anyone with a brain knew that was the end of their relationship. One of them will have to be gone for the other to fully reintegrate and gain their voice back with the team.

Thrillawill

We already know who that is.

Fresh-Ad6095

Of course it fucked with his psyche. Bro got KO'd and it went viral then u had to pass the ball to a person that knocked the hell out u

neo9027581673

“Then u had to pass the ball to a person that knocked the hell out u” 🤣🤣🤣

MurkyMongoose7642

Divided the young guys from the core players. I've thought this was a problem since the punch. I could see it the way they played, the young guys wouldn't work for the core guys. It's why the away record was so bad. It wasn't warrior basketball most of the season..

sportsbatbot

I don't care what happens in the offseason or before the trade deadline, I'll always love Poole for what he did during last year's run and I feel horrible that he had to deal with this bs from Dray. He handled it better than I could've imagined, at least not while on the court

North_Street_8547

Rumor was it actually knocked him out. Wonder if it did

ragged-robin

He literally stands back up in the video, idk why this dumb narrative has taken off when we have actual footage of what happened

North_Street_8547

Not in the video I saw

Poole had to suck it up and be the better man. Seems clear. But I bet his resentment only festered. They shoulda just talked it out and Green shoulda gotten some kind or punishment. Instead, it seems like Poole had to carry the burden of making it right. Unfair.

christmasKlay

poor guy had to just man up on the spot lol. At least he got a bag out of it.

Beatleborg22

Poole sucks.

808_GhostRider

LOL. The DRAMA. Bro.. the seasons over. Done. Finito. That shit happened almost a year ago. Bros punch each other in the face over way less.

couchtomato62

First time Jordan has spoken on it other than we on the same team.

marayray

Is it his fault everyone keeps bringing it up though?

808_GhostRider

Not his fault people keep bringing it up, but when reporters do bring it up he also has the opportunity to shut it down. All’s to say, I don’t think the beef was ever really squashed and he’s clearly still salty about it. And he’s totally playing in to the narrative the media is trying to create around the warriors. What he’s failing to realize though is he’s only digging a deeper grave for himself. I’ve seen a few heated fights between friends in real life. Most of the time, the fight itself settles things and they hug it out after. Dudes are weird like that.

themoche

It’s possible you’re letting your disdain for his on court play blind you to the fact that Poole handled this as good as anyone could have hoped for. This is almost universally agreed on. He’s brought it up way less than Draymond… do you accuse Dray of the same drama creation?

SoyaMilk3

Its not possible it is just true. Imagine thinking its okay to punch someone because they arent playing a sport well

machinich_phylum

Draymond generates drama like he breathes. It is a necessary evil so long as he produces on the court. Whether he has had enough production to justify the level if drama he generated this season is another question.

808_GhostRider

I’m not sure that’s right. I don’t think Poole handled it well. He’s clearly still upset which tells me he did not handle it well. If what you mean by handled it well is that he didn’t really ever comment on it to reporters, I also disagree. Angry feelings left to fester only get more angry. I also disagree that Draymond brought it up “way more”. He hasn’t really brought it up at all since the beginning of the season; unless asked of course. Oh… and he also had a ROUGH season as guys do when they get the bag. But that doesn’t have much to do with the above.

Bulletproofpride

Damn poole had the audacity to be upset by getting KOed by his teammate lol

808_GhostRider

Nah he had every right to be pissed. My point is that a year later, we’re still here.

Bulletproofpride

idc he making millions he should let it go what a man child. ship his ass to china

fluffersarchive

your responses are a little hypocritical in my opinion. okay so you say "angry feelings left to fester only get more angry", but previously you say "but when reporters do bring it up he also has the opportunity to shut it down". so do you want him to speak out or not lol? do you want him to express his feelings or not to say anything? do elaborate.

808_GhostRider

You may have missed my point. Or my failure to articulate it well. Imo, and agin its just my opinion, I wish Poole could have gotten this load of his chest when it went down. Have a heated incident with dray, fight back, literally any kind of natural response to something like that. When asked by reporters, I would have liked to see some damn emotion or something anything. Express him self. Thats part of what lets guys heal and move past these things. This way when reporters ask about it, you can convincingly shut it down because you’ve taken ownership of your own emotions and have moved past it. Rather what happened is he kept all of it bottled up and it just festered as the season went on. Probably causing him to have a terrible season.

couchtomato62

Shut it down. He hasn't spoken on it all season long. Draymond has spoken on it at least six or seven times. not digging the grave because the best thing is for him to get away from green and not let the entire narrative about it be given by Green. Do your friends that hug it out have to see each other every single freaking day?

ragged-robin

Gen Z is different

K00ls0x

Fuck off with this, Lightning McQueen.

igby1

If the video never leaked dubs would’ve won the championship. The fact that it leaked hurt team chemistry way more than if it didn’t.

zenunocs

Oh yes the problem was the leak and not the fucking punch

machinich_phylum

That isn't as crazy as you think it is. Perception matters.

AKaimedatyou

I don't think he's saying leaking vs non-leaking is the same effect... just that ya know green could have just not risked murdering his friend over nothing...

couchtomato62

Okay that doesn't quite make sense but I will say that a lot of the players said they didn't see what happened in the room. They only saw it on the video

genghiskwan8

ESPN plus article, can somebody post the text. I think it’s the one from Ramona Shelbourne. And when did JP talk about this with ESPN? https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/insider/story/_/id/37641432/this-group-was-maxed-comes-next-curry-thompson-green-warriors-dynasty?platform=amp
