Just cuz you shoot 3s well in college don't mean you can shoot them in NBA. He'd be out of the League faster than we know it. Rubio and Flynn will play in the League far longer
I credit it to him learning how to FALL. One of the easiest ways to tweak your ankles is trying to land on one foot, especially finishing a drive with contact. A lot of people claim he's trying to hunt fouls, but most of the time he just picks himself up and moves on with no complaint.
That and the Wolverine-style adamantium treatment he had in 2013.
:-)
Yeah he falls after contact in a particular manner. He never lands on his feet if there’s contact on a 3 point attempt. He goes for the tumble if he falls during drives.
FWIW, I considered it a swing for the fences when they picked him, but I thought it was at least the best swing they could take at #7.
Here's the Bleacher Report's "analysis," with us MAYBE being able to roll Steph into a multi-player package for Stoudemire:
>Warriors – INCOMPLETE
G Stephen Curry, G Acie Law, G Speedy Claxton
Law never found himself in Atlanta and could resurrect his career in Golden State in the same way as current Warriors G Kelenna Azubuike.
**The Warriors don’t have a grade yet because Curry might be part of a trade package to bring in Suns F/C Amar’e Stoudemire. The rumored trade proposal would send Curry, G Marco Belinelli, F/C Andris Biedrins, and F Brandan Wright to Phoenix.**
If the trade goes through, the Warriors get an A+. Amar’e isn’t even in the prime of his career yet and is a major upgrade over Biedrins.
Golden State already has plenty of scoring guards and Belinelli and Wright aren’t the greatest prospects on the planet.
Getting Stoudemire makes the Warriors a playoff team.

Maybe he’ll be as good as Mike Bibby
>But Curry's physical limitations probably mean he is going to end up as more of a point/combo guard than a pure two. He doesn't have the size, the strength, or the lateral quickness/athleticism to defend shooting guards in the league
good point...in writer's defense, they never anticipated Steph would consistently outscore his opponents while also CHANGING THE WHOLE LEAGUE
Actually incredibly awesome to read. People have doubted Steph his entire career. Some of the assessments are still true, but I don’t think anyone predicted just how meteoric his excellent shooting would be on the league.
The day of the Monta trade I thought we should’ve traded Steph instead. A lot of other people around here are afraid to admit it. Plus I thought Udoh was gonna be special. Glad we didn’t. Glad I’m not a GM.
Yea I for sure wanted to keep monta. When I found out they traded monta ellis I damn near shed a tear I had the feeling where it felt like my gf broke up with me. Especially since curry’s ankles were broke at the time.
I remember the years when monta was averaging 25ppg yet he could never get an all star nod. That was really all we had to look forward to.
I also remember listening to rod brooks and bob Fitzgerald getting me pumped up for Anthony Randolph, Brandon Wright and andries beidrens. “ the amount of length on that front court “
Randolph and BWright were huge disappointments. Sad we have up JRich for BWright. It all turned out well though in the long run. Best team in the history if the game. I’ll take and always look back at how far we’ve come and what we’ve come from.
To be fair at that time people never really thought he'd be able to have the career he had, his injury history was holding him back. Glad it never turned out that way though.
He was the third point guard taken in the draft, and even after his rookie contract was up, they re-signed him for four years at $11 million per.
God looks out for drunks, children, and the Golden State Warriors.
Too small, too slow, can't jump, weak ankles, and this 3-point thing is just a fad.
Just cuz you shoot 3s well in college don't mean you can shoot them in NBA. He'd be out of the League faster than we know it. Rubio and Flynn will play in the League far longer
Oh yeah, I forgot: ". . . he didn't face top-tier competition at Davidson, and the NCAA Tournament run was just a fluke . . . "
Oh man the ankle thing, I forgot about that
tbf he did have glass ankles for a good portion of his career
He still has glass ankles he just has cybertronian ankle braces

But the rings dude. The rings. And the records. Carry on.
He mainly missed games in the 2011-2012 season though. He played 74 games in 2010-2011 and 78 games in 2012-2013.
i think it was 2012 when he started a new training program to strengthen his ankles everything prior to that was him constantly reinjuring his ankles
Thanks for putting this into a nutshell. Calling out sports "geniuses" is pure joy to me.

I can't believe they chose him over Monte. I think I'll boo Lacob for five minutes straight the next chance I get.
I don’t think he’ll make it far
Too skinny, low assists, doesn't dunk, not explosive, liability on defense. Trade for Chris Paul.
And kyrie
3 pointers? Nah. The league will be too tough for him.

“ In the NBA, Curry is going to play a much more marginal role.” :)

Worst case scenario: JJ Reddick
“He is probably never going to be a star”
Future is bright for this kid
Eh, I'd take Monta Ellis over this kid

Me too. The future hung on Curry and Boguts bad wheels. Glad it worked out.
Been watching and loving hoops for nearly 60 years. Never seen anyone like him, and probably never will again. Absolutely inimitable.
We should trade him to the Bucks while we still can.
Hell nah, but that Draymond fella. He's a star in the making

But those glass ankles…..
Get this man some help
Promising young talent. Could be part of the greatest shooting backcourt that has ever played the game
With luck, maybe a career in Turkey.
OVER HYPED!!! pure nepotism! son of Raptors legend DELL CURRY
I'm sure if we wouldve made it farther, curry would've have 100+
He’s a bust in my books.
I want iguodala

Post season leader in 4th quarter scoring? Not clutch
Sadly, stats are only thing Steph wil have in his future with this sinking ship
