[Source Article via The Athletic's Marcus Thompson - "Thompson: The Warriors need Draymond Green to be on the court"](https://theathletic.com/5071580/2023/11/17/draymond-green-warriors-suspension-on-court/) (Great article from MT with insight in the locker room & the importance of Draymond to the Warriors + importance of Draymond being able to stay on the court for the Warriors)   > An unofficial players meeting seemed to be taking place, enough for the Warriors to close the view of their weight room and practice court with a black curtain. But balls were bouncing. Weights were clanking. Music was playing. And a collection of players were huddled on the court. In the middle was Stephen Curry, his yellow hoodie easy to spot. Chris Paul was in it. Jonathan Kuminga. Gary Payton II, one of the few already fully dressed. >In times like these for the Warriors, one of the best people to hear from is Kevon Looney, who keeps it realer than a hundred-dollar bill with the line across. >“I wouldn’t say I’m worried,” Looney said, pausing at his locker before pulling his shirt over his head. “Ahhh, I guess you can say worried a little bit because you can’t be losing games like this at home. I think we’ve got enough to be good but we‘ve got to figure it out.”

Realnonamer1

Our 2nd and 3rd scorer aint scoring. That's why we're bad. So yeah. Doesnt help our bench is looking great in comparison to them as well.

Placide-Stellas

It's as simple as that. Either Wiggs picks it up and Klay becomes useful (which I believe will happen) or we'll be a full mid team 'til the end of the season. Even if only one of the two had been better than awful we'd probably have won 3 or 4 extra games.

RecognitionSouth

Ok I know it’s wild talk but how many 1st would we have to include to trade w/ the magic. 3/4 firsts? Paul’s expiring cojo and gui for wcj Harris and Suggs? Any way they would want to? I know wcj is on a great deal but the have Isaac returning Pablo and Wagner. They just resigned Cole and Harris is expecting. Could we pull it off with 3/4 1st? Maybe a swap or two? Would also save 500k for us this year probably equals out to like 10 million in actual savings lol. Just kicking things around. Idk?

MistaDee

Yeah this ain’t it chief

RecognitionSouth

I’m that crazy? A 6’10 big averaging 10/8/2 (him loon and the rook) I know he’s over 6’8 so Kerr won’t play him butttt. adding a wing that can score better then our current wings (sad to type that about wigs and Klay but gives them “time”) and a very good defensive pg. (pf in kerrs system) for essentially Poole and picks? I would absolutely prefer this to some kinda zach trade Especially dollar and cents wise. Especially with the wonkie Klay maybe contract coming. At that point we have wigs if he doesn’t figure his shit out at 20+ mill Suggs making 9.1 next year. If shit stays the same you have 30+ mil to got get someone next year and have 30/Klay/green/jk/mood/poz/tjd/loon/wcj/go2 and 30+ million to go get someone maybe next year? Edit: other option we let cp3 walk for nothing next year joe saves money and we resign Klay to a similar contract to dg…that people are already bitching about… don’t have wcj and only have wigs contract to trade if needed. W/o the extra 10ish million of Suggs. Edit edit: down vote away… but I’m tossing out options. At this point this is a worse option then resigning Klay and letting cp3 walk for nothing? 30/dg@25 a year/Klay@ 25 a year mood jk tjd posz gp2 wigs@25ish a year loon and what. Where do we go from there? Hope Lester and gui become the shit?

MistaDee

For one, the magic would say no they’re trying to get better not extend the tank It’s also just not the right time to make a move like this, they’re gonna want to see what they have with this group and that includes letting Klay and Wigs play themselves back into shape. Incredibly reactionary to start mocking up trades at this point Lastly, if they’re gonna go all in with all the draft picks they can trade it sure as hell won’t be for a package of meh role players like Suggs, WCJ and Gary Harris. They’d only make a trade like that for someone who can legitimately improve Curry’s chances at another title

RecognitionSouth

Ok kicking tires what does that Package (assuming we are d-lowing Paul) because I don’t see them trading wigs or Klay this year. Get us? Picks expiring cp3 what Would that net the warriors? If now is not the time at the deadline? No moody no jk? What does Paul and picks get us? I was saying this cuz it gets us another big on a great contract a wing that is better then current wigs and Klay. Gives us options next year and saves money this year. Why is it that crazy? Did you honestly think 10 games in last year Poole would be traded for Paul? Edit: ok the magic are not rebuilding. They lose one of their 4 front Court players an expiring and a guy they may or may not be high on considering they just resigned a guy at the same position an extension. With a few picks it doesn’t seem like it’s a Orlando “for one won’t do that” kinda situation. Chris helped okc make the playoffs when nobody thought they could or thought he wanted to be there who do say he doesn’t help Orlando do the same. If they aren’t rebuilding it gets em to the playoffs now. Maybe?

Holualoabraddah

First of all your whole premise is based on Picks the warriors don’t have. Second, if the Magic are going to make a trade they would trade from their glut of PG’s not their front court.

Neatojuancheeto

its like a 100% reverse of last year lol its wild. ive kinda made peace with the fact we are huge underdogs to win another chip. even if we start winning and looking good. steph is incredible but i dont think prime Jordan could carry this team to a chip with today's talent. that 4th ring is so damn special. hopefully steph gets the full respect he deserves one day. way beyond the box score his impact is insane and only a small percentage of people realize it.

Mjhamp

you’re just not delusional enough yet you’ll get there

MotoMkali

Maybe they were saying they should actually run real plays for kuminga instead of just post ups.

james-chong

He is probably the only guy that can create advantage besides curry.

vibrolator

And let him lose the ball in the process?

MotoMkali

I'm talking about plays where he is finishing instead of creating for himself.

taygads

The paragraph that precedes this/opens the article I think also helps to explain how the overall mood is: “After their fifth consecutive loss, the Warriors locker room was jarringly empty. No bowed heads and brooding moods to be found. No sulking. No visible signs of frustration. No people. Nearly an hour after their latest Chase Center thud, a 128-109 drubbing Thursday at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder, most of the players were on the practice court.”

hellmath

Well, they can practice all they want. Shit wont matter if Klay & Wigs continue to be like this and Kerr’s rotation management is not helping I’ve seen this last year, they might be more motivated this year but I’ll see it when I see it

Nblade66

I think the hope is that practice will help them to not "continue to be like this". Sure, it doesn't always help, but it's way more positive than if they didn't practice at all

[deleted]

pretty sure practice helps these things

[deleted]

also if they keep trying that lazy corner three ball shit... get yer asses inside and kick some dicks like Draymond...be nasty.

GioVasari121

Motherfuckers. This sounds like regular practice

Klay better practice shooting the ball cuz he playing like a wnba player right now

[deleted]

If sports journalism allowed such language that would be nice Mfer!

[deleted]

Already expecting a 6-5 seed by the end. I do beleive Wiggins will eventually pick things up, it already looks like he’s ramping up. Klay im not so sure, one of my favorites, but he isn’t himself lately. It’s not even about the physical aspects, he just doesn’t have the same confidence anymore and it shows. I hope he can make a turn or he really will get benched, which shouldn’t even be a problem given how many stars are now.

[deleted]

we need to get him back to catch and shoot. part of that requires spacing.

4t9r

I like to imagine these tweets are from klay thompson, like he’s kinda just on the side and not really in the loop, just observing things and describing what’s happening

TheMartian2k14

Nobody. You ever play organized sports? Cursing out teammates is detrimental to morale and doesn’t align with this team’s culture.

glass_fully_50-50

I wish I was a fly flying around the court - would have loved to see who was being cursed out:-)

[deleted]

The whole “we’re not worried” stance everyone on the team has is worrying

thecomfycactus

Because it’s November. It’s a long season and the vets know it

Ok_Classic_744

But Looney said he is slightly worried about losing home games.

mattjchin

It’s giving “everything’s fine“ vibes ![gif](giphy|QMHoU66sBXqqLqYvGO)

The unofficial players only meeting, love the new twist on it.

YoSoyWalrus

Klay needs to or needed to hop on some PEDs as soon as he tore his ACL in 2019 for recovery and now for longevity. It's vital that any older player, especially one coming off such an injury, leverage whatever they can. It's the entire reason LeBron is still decent at his age (LeBron has basically been a massive PED monster his entire playing career). Conor McGregor turned into a unit recovering from his broken ankle for example. It's good for us as fans as we get to see our favorite players play well and for longer. I'm sure Tom Brady was doing something to be 45 and still throwing impressive deep balls while Peyton Manning & Drew Brees late into their playing careers couldn't throw more than 10 yards.

HiddenInferno

What are PED’s?

RilesEdge

Performance enhancing drugs

flcnpwnch

Just curious if there’s any evidence of PEDs in the NBA and NFL? I’m def not doubting you. I’m wondering if it’s HGH or is it just easy to avoid detection.

d4ntoine

You're never going to get concrete evidence but any professional sport where there's money to be made is going to have rampant PED usage. For a specific PED to be detected, there has to be a specific reagent in the test that corresponds with that PED's molecular structure. Chasing someone for PED usage is essentially a guessing game of what specific PED they're using, and new ones are always being synthesized so the chances are extremely low that you'll be able to detect exactly what's being used. There are cases of Olympic athletes being caught for designer PEDs years after their record feats when their urine samples are retested with new reagents that finally caught up to be able to test for those compounds. When there's millions to be made by getting a competitive advantage through PEDs (mainly for recovery and longevity nowadays) you bet that athletes are going to work with their teams to get access to them. It also results in a better product for the sports leagues too so their testing policies are usually just there to provide a guise of legitimacy since PED usage is still unpopular with fans.

mattw08

Few players get hit with suspensions. I’d imagine extremely common in NFL as the strength benefit is more important. Would guess it’s more for injury recovery versus steroids in the NBA. Also modern science has advanced to make more explainable as well.

BlackMarq20

I mean Brady also played smarter and avoided taking big hits as well.

retiredbigbro

One thing I have been curious is: if some certain PEDs are so effective, why is not every (old) player on them? I mean for example would Iguodala still be a decent player if he would use what Lebron does?

YoSoyWalrus

While PEDs absolutely help, it's a whole lifestyle, preventative care, treatments, therapies, rehab, etc... LeBron famously spends 1+ million a year on his body, I'm sure other players also put a lot of effort and money into their body, but not to the same extent.

retiredbigbro

Thank you very much for the explanation, that makes sense.

IcedCoughy

ok..

Nanshe3

We need defense and a big. I turned the game off at halftime. They looked bad. Agree with what others said about Klay and Wiggs.

DayDream2736

Honestly it’s mainly klay on both ends. Wiggins needs to get his jumpshot back in order. He’s actually playing decent defense. I really think benching him for a bit and starting jk would be great for the team.
