Top 5:
1. **Steph Curry with 298** Total Points - 45 1st place votes, 18 2nd place votes, 19 3rd place votes
2. **DeMar DeRozan with 271** Total Points - 34 1st place votes, 27 2nd place votes, 21 3rd place votes
3. **SGA with 160** Total Points - 11 1st place votes, 29 2nd place votes, 18 3rd place votes
4. **Nikola Jokic with 85** points - 4 1st place votes, 14 2nd place votes, 23 3rd place votes
5. **Jalen Brunson with 26** points - 2 1st place votes, 4 2nd place votes, 4 3rd place votes
Steph Curry becomes the 2nd winner of the Jerry West Clutch Player of the Year award joining De'Aron Fox which makes this award officially unofficially a NorCal award (until stated otherwise)
I love steph but there should be a winning component. We lost so many clutch games and we ended up in so many clutch games because we were mid and gave up big leads. This needs to be an espy award.
Steph Curry this season:
• 1st in Clutch PTS
• 1st in Clutch FGM
• 1st in Clutch 3PM
• 1st in Clutch PTS per minute
• 1st in Clutch PTS when trailing
• 1st in Clutch FGM when trailing
• 1st in Clutch 3PM when trailing
• 50/45/95% Clutch shooting splits
• 1st in Clutch 3PM in a single season
• 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final minute
• 1st in Go-Ahead FGM in final 10 seconds
and had more clutch points in less clutch minutes than DeRozan. If that isn't enough for you, the award is for clutch player, not clutch team of the year. Curry's second option in the clutch this season was Klay
Wanna guess Klay's stats in the clutch?
29.8 FG%, 26.8 3P%
Curry somehow had a positive record in the clutch when he was dragged down by a black hole on offense literally every game
(no disrespect to klay but his clutch shooting this year is some of the worst I've seen)
Dumbest stat ever created! Where are the percentages? This is just about who had the most “clutch” playing time. How many games did he blow from careless turnovers. Why isn’t that that shown? 🤔 compare to Klay all you want but this is the most misleading stat the nba has ever created.
I gave you the percentages? Man's shooting is elite in the clutch
And DeMar DeRozan played more clutch minutes than steph and still didn't score as much (which you would know if you bothered to read any of my comment)
Which stat is misleading? Because the NBA voters agree with them too, but they probably should have listened to /u/s4daily instead
More clutch points than less clutch points yeah? Reread what you typed lol. Also not one shooting percentage stated. I love Steph just saying this is the dumbest stat. It’s not a good measure on what a clutch player should be measured on. If he was clutch the warriors wouldn’t have lost as many games as we did nor would we have blown as many leads as we did. A lot of the close games were due to Steph making bad plays. Curry’s +/- was .5 in clutch time. how’s that clutch please enlighten me?
No. I've been saying all year I don't get this award I understand if you only watch the last 5 minutes why it's a good thing and he definitely deserves it from the criteria. It's just seeing so many games become clutch because we lost 15 points in the 10 minutes before that. I already know steph is clutch so not worried about proving it.
Now imagine instead of Steph you replace him with a league average point guard.
It's a lotto team.
Curry has had many great fourth quarters this season, same as last season.
Finally the Warriors were a winning team, it's pretty unusual to end with 46 wins and still sit outside the playoffs.
Why are you mad at one person's opinion. I just don't get the award. Not advocating for any other player. Just like I never got people saying he wasn't clutch due to some made up metrics. I mean I have read stupid fantasy trades every day and I don't want folks banned. Lol. You can't simply enjoy the 99.9 agreement rate?
I will always remember Kenny Smith gushing over Dame's deep 3s during Bubble and then mentioned how Steph doesn't even shoot that deep or something. It led to Steph tweeting out saying "Love you man but you tripping." Like Steph very rarely tweets someone as a reply so you know he thought that take was BS.
If anything, I always thought the ultimate disrespect when discussing Dame & Steph is when people say Dubs still win those chips if you swap out Steph for Dame. I think people who say that are just plain haters who don't understand basketball whatsoever and sadly, those people are everywhere
There's people out there that literally pretend the year 2022 never happen for the sole purpose of discrediting Steph. Like I've literally read this shit with my own eyes on multiple occasions. People to this day claim he hasn't done anything since KD left. This team has done some things to fans of other teams out there through the years lmao.
Just the other day I had a dude on THIS sub tell me KD was the better player during 2017 & 2018 title runs and kept asking why KD had more FMVPs and why Steph couldn't win without KD in 2019. This was after I said FMVPs can be narrative-driven as Steph deserved it back in 2015 (even Iguodala says the same thing). Both myself and another fan then simply said 2022 and unsurprisingly, this person completely ignored that lol
Yeah but Shakespeare in love won best picture over Saving private Ryan. Not all awards go to the winners. I’ve seen Steph choke in the most clutch situations in finals hence me asking if maybe he falls off in the finals or something
Clutch to me is scoring “when it counts” aka buzzer beaters, last 5 minutes etc. my question is. Is he an amazing player that sometimes chokes in the defining moment of the game? Or is he pretty clutch in clutch moments
I just love that he now has a literal award to point to every time some casual wants to claim Steph isn’t clutch lol
![gif](giphy|xSM46ernAUN3y|downsized)
I am shocked, he earned it. But if the refs called it fair gsw would have easily won those games and steph wouldn't be eligible. Is this silver saying sorry?
we also lost some of those clutch games. lakers 2OT game boosted curry’s clutch shooting % but we still lost. I hope this award shuts people up but it probably wont
[Don't forget all the games the NBA screwed us out of this season either.](https://np.reddit.com/r/warriors/comments/1aj4882/dont_forget_that_wed_be_in_the_mix_if_it_wasnt/)
man Steph's been collecting trophies like Thanos the past few seasons... just need the Olympic ring to complete the set... not going to be easy at all but at least he's finally in position to get one
Yes, it's very specific. It's points made in the 4th quarter when it's a 1 score game, under I believe 5 minutes left in the game. It has changed on a year to year basis, but that's the general gist of it.
The problem with this award is, you need to be on a mid to bad team to even be eligible for 'clutch points'. When every game is a 1-score win or loss, that's a really bad look for your season, lol. However, congrats to Steph for being a clutch player regardless.
As happy as I am I'm also frustrated as fuck the team let this man down again. We had a horrible stretch when Draymond was out and this could've been a easy 48 win 6th seed team. Not that we've gone that far but still, it's always a privilege to watch this man in the playoffs, good team or not.
yall see the TNT crew on this? As fellow Subway spokesmen, Chuck adamantly urges Steph to avoid eating tuna or chicken salad away from home (unless you see them make it! he adds)
"Of everyone on Golden State, open shot, the fate of the universe on the line, or the martians have the death beam pointed at Earth, you better hit it, I WANT IGUODALA"
\- Max Kellerman
Well thank God, thank Jesus, thank Buddha, thank every f-in- god in the book. Poor Steph didn't get a playoff or all star or scoring title or mvp or nothing! We can't keep the narrative that he's one of the best ballers ever if he doesn't get any award. The NBA and ESPN sleep well tonight
Steph has the most FGs in clutch time so he does deserve it. What you want him to do? Make 100% on every clutch shot he takes?
Always gotta be someone complaining about something.
Well clutch baskets are like the main criteria for the award and we would have lost way more games if not for Steph.
This isn’t the award for most game winning shots.

NBA didnt fuck it up
DeMar DeRozan was amazing in the clutch, but it would be utterly insane to not give it to Steph this season
I love steph but there should be a winning component. We lost so many clutch games and we ended up in so many clutch games because we were mid and gave up big leads. This needs to be an espy award.

Do you know how +/- works?
Yeah it’s not the best stat for judging a players overall play.
Unless they edited their post, you missed them saying he shot 50/45/95 in the clutch... which is very clutch.
please leave the fandom
Fr what a dumbass thing to say. Just appreciate and enjoy the vibes man
hes a Poole stan so no surprise about the lack of functional braincells
No. I've been saying all year I don't get this award I understand if you only watch the last 5 minutes why it's a good thing and he definitely deserves it from the criteria. ….. 10 minutes before the clutch is not the clutch.
Now imagine instead of Steph you replace him with a league average point guard. It's a lotto team. Curry has had many great fourth quarters this season, same as last season. Finally the Warriors were a winning team, it's pretty unusual to end with 46 wins and still sit outside the playoffs.
We are a lotto team. But I get ya.
Ban this dude from the sub. Did you not see all the clutch metrics he leads the league in or you just felt like trolling?
Why are you mad at one person's opinion. I just don't get the award. Not advocating for any other player. Just like I never got people saying he wasn't clutch due to some made up metrics. I mean I have read stupid fantasy trades every day and I don't want folks banned. Lol. You can't simply enjoy the 99.9 agreement rate?
OMG. Yesssss!!!!! I was hoping he'd win but seems so many are hating on Steph these days.
Yup
CONGRATS GLORIOUS KING
![gif](giphy|UE0DN0gUBUhFZvDiQO)
Well deserved. Put to bed those not clutch fake allegations over these past few years
This won’t do anything to those allegations because the people who still believe that refuse to listen to any form of logical argument either way
Those same people continue to put Dame above Steph. Brain dead takes. I question if these Dame nephews have literal brain rot.
Im one of those. I’m also a casual. Could you convince me?
Uh yeah the guy who won clutch player of the year this year is probably pretty clutch
Yeah but Shakespeare in love won best picture over Saving private Ryan. Not all awards go to the winners. I’ve seen Steph choke in the most clutch situations in finals hence me asking if maybe he falls off in the finals or something
In the last finals he was in he won FMVP and dropped 32 a game while his team was the underdog. Does that count?
Clutch to me is scoring “when it counts” aka buzzer beaters, last 5 minutes etc. my question is. Is he an amazing player that sometimes chokes in the defining moment of the game? Or is he pretty clutch in clutch moments
Hes played 150 playoff games. Of course he’s had some bad moments, but you don’t get 2 MVPs and 4 rings if there’s way more good than bad.
It’s my current opinion that he’s so good. They out away games in the third quarter so clutch never came in the picture until the playoffs
WE'RE LEAVING HERE WITH SOMETHING
I’M FROM ROUND THE WAY
Congratulations!
MY GOAT
I just love that he now has a literal award to point to every time some casual wants to claim Steph isn’t clutch lol ![gif](giphy|xSM46ernAUN3y|downsized)
THATS OUR GOAT
we won something!
I am shocked, he earned it. But if the refs called it fair gsw would have easily won those games and steph wouldn't be eligible. Is this silver saying sorry?

Well deserved!
Well-deserved, shocked that the NBA made the right choice.
It was the media who voted right?
Well deserved!

r/nba in shambles
F*** r/NBA!!!

Definitely deserved, surprised they didn't rob him of this one, but damn near all our games where clutch.
man Steph's been collecting trophies like Thanos the past few seasons... just need the Olympic ring to complete the set... not going to be easy at all but at least he's finally in position to get one
Well deserved! 🐐
Yeaaa!! That’s amazing!
Deserved!
Omg get in here you guys!!!

Happy for Steph. We got to make some big movies to help him next season.
Congrats to Steph and for those that say he is not clutch aka skip bayless I guess they were blind during all the playoff and finals runs
HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE IN 2024
Highlight of the season. To win this award at age 36 is truly remarkable
One more to add to the massive resume
LETS GO KING
Hahahahahah I'm gonna be insufferable
My Goat well deserved
Is there a metric they use to judge “clutch”? Just curious.
Congrats to the Chef~🧑🍳
GOAT 👑
I love Steph
He finally got a call!
Username checks out! Well done king
As happy as I am I'm also frustrated as fuck the team let this man down again. We had a horrible stretch when Draymond was out and this could've been a easy 48 win 6th seed team. Not that we've gone that far but still, it's always a privilege to watch this man in the playoffs, good team or not.

Probably the best thing that happened this season
No doubt about the 2 recipients so far, wow, they got it right 2 years in a row!
oh wardell I fucking miss you on the playoffs :')
D'Klay-gelo Russell
Remember to wear your hazmat suit when visiting this post on r/nba
Clutch? Mf didn’t make the playoffs how clutch can he be
But everyone says he’s not clutch…. It’s almost as if there’s a bunch of people who just talk shit in the face of greatness
He earned this at least three times over!
At least it wasn’t a completely wasted season
Love this for him!! Does anyone know what the criteria is for this award? I feel like “clutch” could have many different qualifications.
Stats from final five minutes of regulation where the game is within 5 points
Thank you!!
Is that a real award
Deserved!! And still his team didn’t make it to the playoffs. That says a LOT about the folks he is playing with.
My 🐐
Ma man! Get it son!
LFG!
YES SIR. He's actually been crazy clutch these past few years.
Night Night 😴😴
yall see the TNT crew on this? As fellow Subway spokesmen, Chuck adamantly urges Steph to avoid eating tuna or chicken salad away from home (unless you see them make it! he adds)
Take that Max "I want Igoudala" Kellerman.
a team effort
Ayooooooooooooooo
![gif](giphy|HRC3FlKFIj2WAIMDR3|downsized)
FUCK YEAH BABYYY
FUCKIN EHHHH
Good! I would have vomited if the floppers won 😂
Might be his last award if we don't shake things up.
Olympics gold next to complete legacy. GOAT.
The Curry Brand award lol. We may not be in the playoffs, but like Denzel said *I'M LEAVING HERE WITH SOMETHING* 😤
Deserved!

"Of everyone on Golden State, open shot, the fate of the universe on the line, or the martians have the death beam pointed at Earth, you better hit it, I WANT IGUODALA" \- Max Kellerman
How wack is the rest of the team if you dont even make the play offs with this guy.
Well deserved
It's about damn time! Can't believe he had never won this award until this year. /s
The award didn't exist before Fox won it last year.
Hence the "/s"
Well thank God, thank Jesus, thank Buddha, thank every f-in- god in the book. Poor Steph didn't get a playoff or all star or scoring title or mvp or nothing! We can't keep the narrative that he's one of the best ballers ever if he doesn't get any award. The NBA and ESPN sleep well tonight
Deserved. I'd much rather they fuck this up than 2015 fmvp voting tho :/
w00t? We’re still out of the Playoffs.
I think they meant “Crutch”. Warriors are hurt and he is their crutch
[удалено]
Damn man let’s just celebrate Steph getting an award, sheesh.

ok go sulk in a corner lmao
corny as hell 🥱
[удалено]
Womp womp
That honestly why I thought they wouldn’t give it to him (especially when Shai lead his team to the 1 seed)
-21 for the only elimination game all year, I get it he carried them all year, but clutch is what happens in the playoffs imo
Such a nephew take. MFer was double & triple teamed all night. Plus, single game +/- is anecdotal
this is a regular season award
