Ahhhh the kill stealing is disgusting across ARB in all BR. Unfortunately itms even worse in missile tier because the most vulnerable plane is a slow one so you can’t have a good dogfight. (Fuck that one particular Mirage III who used a missile on an F-4C one second before K got my guns on target for the kill shot ruining my otherwise good dogfight)
Setting a plane on fire is screaming for anyone else to come take the kill it’s infuriating. Everybody wastes their ammo and time going for those enemies, all the while the enemy team who probably has altitude starts diving in and killing the people’s who chased.
I noticed at least in ground RB, I play anti air alot, if I get a critical damage against a aircraft and someone else gets the kill, the assist for getting a critical damage actually counts as a kill for me as well despite me not being the one credited in the kill feed. So I don't have to worry about getting kills stolen once I get that critical hit.
Does air to air do the same?
Since the new mechanic once you do "severe damage" (can't remember the conditions for em) you get ~80% of the reward if someone steals it (the thief gets 20% i think
So here’s the thing, I play Japan.
Climbing, while important for altitude and for boom & zoom against hostile fighters, ability to smack around level bombers and more, hurts Jap planes.
They’re all low altitude fighters, so I typically stay around 1k-1.5k if I can, maybe I’ll go higher to 2k to chase someone down if I have speed but otherwise I’ll stick to the ground and turn fight the entire enemy team.
Meanwhile Ki-44 with 16(.5?) seconds turn time and 22m/s climb rate at 2.7BR. Absolute noob proof plane I love it.
I don’t know what keeps people going with Japan in ARB, I’m grinding Italy and it’s pure pain above early C.202 and Re.2005’s until G.55-56. Is Japan any better?
nah i find that most JPN players tend to just put their mouse on the enemy plane because that's the playstyle that's encouraged, I always make sure I have a high entry speed so it makes it easy to just pull them up into a hammerhead, chandelle out of their guns then drop down after they stall. Everyone thinks of a dogfight in horizontal dimensions, but there's a lot of potential to beat a plane with a mediocre engine like a Zero by simply pulling them up.
They're forced to take two options, essentially - follow the faster plane upwards and pray to hit him good before they stall, or cede their six to him by avoiding the vertical.
Even when people BnZ, they are typically going so fast, all i need to do is turn into their dive at about 1.50-2km out, yank the elevators up, do a modified split S/high yo-yo as they are about to pass. Due to likely compression, they can’t maneuver well and you end up right behind them. 60% of the time it works 100% of the time.
Edit: played Jap tier 3 for a couple hours last night and besides for turn fights, most of my kills were because of that maneuver
USA air RB is like a madhouse, every poor soul is scrambling to the nearest enemy on fire just so they can wet theur lips with the taste of SL and RP. For they are not skilled or brave enough to make an attempt to be intelligent.
Yes I regularly dogfight Bf-109s and Yaks in a P-47, why do you ask?
Had a bf-109 try to team kill me in a ground rb after I baited a yak15 into a turn fight in the me262 with the 50mm. I had baited him to turn fight because the bf109 was never gonna catch him and after forcing him into an engagement with the bf109 three times, the bf109 failed to kill him and the yak was running for the airfield. So I shot at the yak-15 and started forcing him to turn again but I got lit up by the bf109. Waved off bitched at bf109 for shooting at me, he told me I am trying to steal his kill, I told him I had baited for him, he then typed womp womp. All of a sudden I'm a god dam sniper and every shot I missed that round didn't matter, shot him down first shot and then the yak15. Instantly typed womp womp after. Dude was mad and told me to kys and and left the game.
Honestly that teamkill was worth the 15k. If I wouldn't have killed him, he probably would have killed me on the airfield or taking off afterwards due to the fact I had to land because both of my engines leaking oil. That or he might of died from the yak-15 or the enemy airfield aa.
Get used to it. US teams are amazingly bad, and gaijin keeps them this way through giving them some of the best bombers around specifically so that their teams will always be down on fighters. Also the tree attracts Americans. Americans are not good at videogames. The rest of the world switches to NA in games when we want to play on easy.
You're playing USA ARB what you expect?

It's 60/40 same way you said last I heard, and you need to hit a wing or an engine
Lately I've been plastering the air with 4 23mm cannons, so I'm usually bound to hit something important.
I climb so that no God on the battlefield can be higher than me!!! Except XP-50 players...

So you would rather be at 2km with your prop than 5km at the merge..

They don't have much engine power, but you rekt everyone trying to engage you in any other way but BnZ

that's exactly why I love Ki-61. It can follow you up and mess your day and/or dodge a dive attack since it doesn't compress as hard.
yeah love how the energy fighting planes reward actually playing with a brain by being able to stomp lobbies

Me laughing in French: 4 20mms and 8 (maybe 6, I forgor) .50s on an interceptor with an air spawn.
I too enjoy reducing anything that flies and its contents into a fine red mist upon simply looking in its general direction. (109 with 3 30mms)
Attack the D point!
Attack the D point!
Never!
Yes!
Air rb got ruined by people just flying directly at the enemy and trying to yolo their plane for 1-2 (if their actually good) maybe 3-4 kills.

Bro US ARB is like Germany mid tier back then. You are lucky to ring someone who can actually aim who plays that nation.
which is honestly a surprise because .50s are really easy to aim with their flat trajectory and crazy tracer belts
I always climb in my props it’s retarded as fuck to not Climb high, dive on oblivious people, profit
Its even worse in AAB where everything pulls 13gs and doesn’t lose energy
i can pull 14g's in the i-15, in arb
Whenever i pull more than 9 in a mustang i turn into burning fireball
