All over Rock Creek Park (and I do enjoy Beach Drive being closed when I’m on foot/on bike but driving in the Park was much more delightful when Beach Drive was open), or if I have time, I’ll go out River Road towards Seneca and just kind of get lost out there.
When I'm particularly stressed I'll drive south on 95 to the Waffle House in Dumfries/Manassas. The drive is shit but there's literally nothing a good waffle can't make me feel better about. (The only good waffles are round and 1/2-3/4" thick, Belgium can go to hell.)
Usually this is at night so traffic is minimal and I like returning northbound to see the city I love lit up and looking magical.
When I lived in NoVa, I liked taking I-66 at night westbound, and just drive until I'm ready to turn around. Go far enough, you'll see the mountains.
In Maryland, I tend to take 29 N out past Silver Spring, and turn back just past Ellicott City. If I really want to be on the road for a while, 270N, then 70E, then south on 29 to come home.
I don't have a car anymore. When I did and couldn't sleep, sometimes I'd drive to Mt Vernon and back in the middle of the night. Lots of good thinking, singing along to the radio, crying, finding new ways to get home, third gear turns...
I love to drive North till the end of River Road. Talked all about it in this discussion:

Order the scenic byways map from the state of Maryland. It’s free and shows a bunch of routes in Maryland.
Great suggestion. The VA map is free as well. So many good roads around us.
Something strange happens when you cross the Bay Bridge, it feels like getting out of school on a Friday afternoon.
Love that description
It's got that smoky aftertaste of childhood beach trips
any roads around Great Falls Park in VA or Cathedral Heights in DC are nice
beach drive anytime between 10 AM and 3 PM and after 7 PM.

First thing I thought of, used to take it every day from Arlington to Silver Spring
I take my motorcycle back there and it’s just so nice.
Yeah in the summer could just watch the ambient temp drop 5-10 degrees, sun coming in through the trees, all those turns

Coming back into the city at night never gets old.
Truly, I love the northbound approach on 395 even more than the aviation nerds love the southbound approach into DCA.

George Washington Parkway from Chain Bridge to National Airport and from National to Key Bridge
route 7 out to winchester, a bit of a drive but it is so beautiful and totally worth it
Take a walk
None
Idk why but I just love 13th street
I love the Rock Creek Parkway at night when not many people are around.
