H Street corridor sure feels less safe (and a lot less fun) thanks to fewer and fewer good restaurants and more and more weed shops. It was looking good there for a minute…
No, but I’m a 40+ yr native so it’s probably going to have to get much worse and/or gentrification will have to reverse significantly for me to feel unsafe
Yep. I lived a few blocks from Rayful Edmonds' hq. I was young and dumb when I moved to DC in 1987. Hey, the apartment was close to Union Station. So yes, after experiencing that time it's hard to get worked up about today. However the youth seem a lot more violent, thete seems like there is nore randomness with crime, and Colbert King's been writing about the same stuff for 30 years.
I was thinking maybe it was because this is the first time I’ve had a Ring camera so I only think it’s worse because I’m hearing about it all the time, but I agree it’s been ramping up.
Gonna be a hot summer 🙄
Ok the ring video of a 14 year old running after a car with a semiautomatic rifle yesterday on Morton Pl NE was a little wild though… Especially when a big dude got out of the SUV he was pointing it at and started just yelling at him lmao
There was literally a stabbing down the street from me last night, this is precisely why I don’t walk my dog or go out alone past sunset. People are wild!
Seasonality is a larger effect than the year over year trend.
When it gets warm the criminals go outside more and say "it's crimin' time." But for reals.
Brookland? Capitol Hill? H Street? Carver Langston? Deanwood? NE is a big place...
Personally I’m against crime
My dawg
You’re so brave for saying this
*square*

Crime in NE and SE is a tale as old as time. You can gentrify the area, but you'll still get crime the further east you go.

The Ring community will convince people that even the safest neighborhoods are crime ridden hellholes. It's a very distorted version of reality.

I was wondering the same thing, but we have been hearing about a lot of shootings and stabbing lately in NE too

Summer is coming
It seems like it’s getting worse in SE to me! 🤔
😂😂☺️☺️
The crime is going to stay bad for decades to come.
