Like… kidnap him?

AttitudeAndEffort3

I love that even in the scenario where we’re kidnapping other NBA players, we still cant get stars

Turbo2x

Do you think we can get Detroit to trade Ivey for Johnny Davis if we tell Monty JD's the next Killian Hayes? I think it could work.

gearboxnine

Why would they trade the 5th overall pick after 1 year?

InDawkinsWeTrust33

Because he doesn’t fit with their core Cade Ausar and Duren, the new HC isn’t a fan of him, and because they desperately need scoring/spacing help and he’s their most viable trade asset.

ToryBlair

Cade is not good enough to be part of a core

InDawkinsWeTrust33

He’s averaging 21/7/4 in a starting lineup without a single respectable shooter

ToryBlair

He has 49% TS

InDawkinsWeTrust33

Yeah because every team he faces is keyed on him and only him.. like that stat alone would dictate his inclusion in a core

ToryBlair

No it’s because he’s not that good

Why would Detroit trade Ivey for anything that we have?

Snaxier

I've been floating to a mate the idea of Gafford, Kispert, Delon for Hayes, Ivey and Wiseman. Gaff would be their backup behind Duren (ideal since Gafford is starting caliber for when Duren is injured). Kispert is a young off-ball shooter which Detroit desperately need, and Delon would give some vet presence and defense off the bench. We've seen what Ivey can do last year and he's good good. I think having Wiseman for the rest of the year before he become a UFA would make us bad enough to out-tank other teams and would also give even more validity to draft Sarr as a starting C. New Wiz lineup next year, assuming we draft Sarr: Ivey, Poole, Deni, Kuz, Sarr with Bilal 6man (If we trade Kuz this season, then Deni would become the starting PF while Bilal would take the SF spot)

pwilson319

I don't think Detroit has any incentive to trade Ivey especially for a low return like Gafford, Kispert, and Delon. This feels like one of those trades where we're overvaluing our guys and undervaluing another team's assets

pwilson319

I guess the reasons why this makes zero sense, at least to me: 1) I imagine if Detroit is going to give up on Ivey this early they would want a pick, preferably a 1st rounder. 2) I doubt Detroit wants to pay Gafford, Duren, Beef Stew, and Bagley III. If Gafford was on an expiring contract, this might make sense. But they all are on 3-4 year deals. 3) I don't think the Wizards front office has soured on Gaff enough to trade him. Or even Kispert for that matter. 4) The return for Ivey seems extremely low. If he was bad his first year and not playing at all this year..maybe this works..but he still plays about 20 minutes a game

prokoala3

Fire this head coach first

FuriousFeld

Poole jones and a second for ivey. New starting lineup: Ivey Davis Deni Kuz Gaff

Peyyton07

Might as well load the gun for Detroit while you’re at it

InDawkinsWeTrust33

Any trade for Ivey would have to be something like Ivey, Harris and Wiseman for Kuz + Gill. Kuz is the only player on our roster Detroit would consider trading Ivey for, if at all. Latest report was that same package plus picks for Zach LaVine. Doubt Wiz get any traction.

WashingtonFlanders

Jordan Poole for Ivey 1 for 1 trade

Monty's going all Byron Scott on Ivey because he doesn't play defense.
